A glass cutting apparatus () includes a pair of cutters () installed oppositely to each other in such a way as to sandwich, therebetween, a glass plate with surfaces of the glass plate thereof being along a vertical direction; a first pressing unit () which presses one of the cutters to one of the surfaces of the glass plate in a horizontal direction with a pressing force P; a second pressing unit () which is placed oppositely to the first pressing unit and presses the other one of the cutters to the other surface of the glass plate in the horizontal direction with the pressing force P; and a moving unit () which moves the pair of cutters pressing the glass plate with the pressing force P.

There are provided an apparatus and a method for easily removing a plate (1) having been fired from a support plate (2) on which the plate (1) is placed by a mechanical method without producing a flaw. Scooping blocks (4) are disposed in an opposed relation in the vicinity of outer peripheral edges (1a) on the longer sides of the plate (1), and a gas injection mechanism (11) for injecting a pressurized gas is provided next to the scooping block (4). After the edges of the plate (1) are floated by injecting the pressurized gas from the gas injection mechanism (11) to the outer peripheral edges (1a) of the plate (1) through pipes (12), the scooping blocks (4) are inserted under the plate (1). Thereafter, the scooping blocks (4) are moved upward, by which the plate (1) is removed from the support plate (2).

Apparatus for taking away plate and method for taking away plate

The present invention prevents a lowering of the baking quality of a baked product due to a variation in the temperature distribution in a baking furnace due to the inflow of air into the baking furnace. A baking furnace has an inlet disposed in a clean room and an outlet disposed in a normal pressure room lower in pressure than the clean room. The baking furnace is provided with a differential pressure gauge, a controller, an inverter, and an exhaust fan installed in a return duct, the arrangement being such that the difference in pressure between the clean room and the normal pressure room is detected by the differential pressure gauge and the operation of the exhaust fan is controlled by the controller according to the detected differential pressure, so that the air flowed in through the inlet is discharged through the return duct. Thus, the air is prevented from flowing into the baking furnace.

Baking furnace and control method therefor

An electron beam display device which has high contrast and excellent image quality, by eliminating halation due to re-collision of the electrons in the fluorescent element area. The electron beam display device includes a face glass on which an image is formed, a cathode for emitting electron beams, a fluorescent element layer on the face glass and facing the cathode, with which layer electron beams collide to emit light for forming an image on the face glass, an aluminum layer as anode on the fluorescent element layer, and a carbon layer on the aluminum layer, having a thickness sufficient to prevent electrons, reflected in the aluminum anode layer by collision of electron beams with the aluminum anode layer, from coming back into the face glass.

Electron beam display device and production thereof

An image display device displays an image based on visible fluorescent radiation caused by electron beams emitted from a plurality of parallel spaced filamentary cathodes that extend over a substrate. A pair of support bars fixed to opposite sides of the substrate has a pair of spaced arrays of through holes defined therein, and supports a pair of spaced arrays of electrically conductive pins extending through through holes, with a plurality of electrically insulating bodies disposed around the electrically conductive pins and fitted in the through holes, respectively. Each of the filamentary cathodes has opposite ends secured to the support member and held against outer circumferential surfaces of one pair of electrically conductive pins of the spaced arrays.

An electrode structure including a plurality of beam control electrodes, a plurality of electrically insulating spacers disposed between each pair of neighboring members of the beam control electrodes, an electrode substrate, a plurality of metallic pins planted on the beam control electrode so as to extend therefrom through the electrode substrate, and a fixing member mounted on each of the metallic pins from behind the electrode substrate for retaining the beam control electrodes. The electrode structure is manufactured by abutting a first support bench of high rigidity against the beam control electrodes in a predetermined shape and abutting a second support bench of high rigidity in a predetermined shape from behind the electrode substrate, applying a predetermined load to the electrode structure, applying a predetermined load to the fixing member to press the latter towards the electrode substrate, and welding each of the metallic pins and the associated fixing members together by the use of a laser welding process.

Flat panel display device and a method of making the same

There is disclosed a display apparatus including a rear electrode unit, electron beam generating sources, a front electrode unit including a plurality of electron beam control electrodes laminated together with insulating spacers therebetween, and a face plate formed with a fluorescent screen. The front electrode is coupled together by first metallic coupling pins fixed on the electron beam control electrode arranged to confront the fluorescent screen. The rear electrode unit is coupled with the electrode unit by second metallic coupling pins fixed to one of the electron beam control electrodes other than the electron beam control electrode confronting the fluorescent screen.

Display apparatus having spaced apart electron beam control electrodes

An electrode structure comprising a plurality of beam control electrodes, a plurality of electrically insulating spacers disposed between each neighboring members of the beam control electrodes, an electrode substrate, a plurality of metallic pins planted on the beam control electrode so as to extend therefrom through the electrode substrate, and a fixing member mounted on each of the metallic pins from rear of the electrode substrate for retaining the beam control electrodes. The electrode structure is manufactured by abutting a first support bench of high rigidity against the beam control electrodes in a predetermined shape and abutting a second support bench of high rigidity in a predetermined shape from rear of the electrode substrate, applying a predetermined load to the electrode structure, applying a predetermined load to the fixing means to press the latter towards the electrode substrate, and welding each of the metallic pins and the associated fixing means together by the use of a laser welding process.

A picture display device includes an envelope having a faceplate, having an inner surface formed with a phosphor screen, and a back covering coupled to the faceplate to define an evacuated chamber; filament-like cathode electrodes and electron beam control electrodes disposed within the evacuated chamber for emitting electron beams towards the phosphor screen; a cathode electrode support member for retaining the cathode electrodes and having one of opposite surfaces held in contact therewith; a shape retention plate for retaining at least the cathode electrodes and the support member in a predetermined curved shape; a plurality of support struts for fixing the shape retention plate in a face-to-face relationship with the phosphor screen; and a reinforcement grid structure disposed in contact with a surface of the shape retention plate opposite that facing the phosphor screen so as to follow the curvature of the shape retention plate.

Flat picture display device

A flat display panel assembly includes an evacuated glass envelope having a faceplate, a source of electron beams, a control electrode assembly including a stack of electrode substrates each having a predetermined pattern of electrode holes defined therein, and anodes formed by depositing phosphor material on the faceplate in correspondence with the electrode holes in the electrode substrates. At least one of the electrode substrates is made of a material having a coefficient of thermal expansion different from that of the remaining electrode substrates. The electrodes holes in such one of the electrode substrates are so defined and so arranged as to be offset from the corresponding electrode holes in the other electrode substrates by an increasing as a distance increases from a center portion of the electrode assembly towards the perimeter of the electrode assembly. With the electrode holes so defined and so arranged, the electrode substrates are movably supported to accomodate the thermal expansion.

Flat display panel assembly

A flat panel display device which comprises a face glass plate, a metal container assembled to the face glass plate through a frit glass for providing an envelope for accommodating electron beam generating means and electron beam control means, the metal container including an outer container made of a thin metal plate and an inner container separately assembled to the inside of the outer container for acting as a pressure resistive container for supporting air pressure. Only the outer container is joined to the face glass plate.

Flat panel display device

A flat panel display device which comprises a face glass plate, a metal container assembled to the face glass plate through a frit glass for providing an envelope for accommodating electron beam generating means and electron beam control means, the metal container including an outer container made of a thin metal plate and an inner container separably assembled to the inside of the outer container for acting as a pressure resistive container for supporting air pressure. Only the outer container is joined to the face glass plate.

In a flat-shaped display apparatus has a face plate, a rear plate, side plates, and necessary electrodes therein, a supporting plate and plural supporting rods which are connected to an edge of the supporting plate at intervals of a certain distance are provided between the face plate and the rear plate. The supporting rods are made of metal and all bonded parts are covered by guide plates so that no adhesive is exposed to the electron beams. Therefore, over-scanning of the electron beams can be made, without the electron beams impinging on the adhesive thereby enabling effective distortion compensation.

Flat-shaped display apparatus

In an electron beam generation apparatus for a flat cathode ray tube, line cathodes are stretched in an arc shaped form and held by plural cathode position defining members. The cathode position defining members are disposed along the line cathode in a forward convex arc which protrudes most at its center and less towards its respective ends. An electron beam take-out electrode is placed at a in front side of the line cathode and a back electrode is placed at a back side of said line cathode, the electron beam take-out electrode and back electrode also being arc shaped.
