A printing apparatus configured to carry out printing on paper with a printing head, while holding the paper between the printing head and a platen roller, includes: a paper guide block guiding the paper in between the printing head and the platen roller, and holding the platen roller; and a force applying member applying a force to any one of the paper guide block and the printing head in such a manner as to press the any one of the paper guide block and the printing head.

A printer is disclosed. The printer includes a main body which contains a paper roll container where a paper roll is loaded, a lid for closing an opening section of the main body through which opening section the paper roll is loaded in the paper roll container, a letter printing mechanism which is formed when the lid is closed, and a detecting arm disposed on a rear surface of the lid for detecting a near-end state of the paper roll. When the paper roll is loaded in the paper roll container and the lid is closed, an arm main body of the detecting arm contacts an outer circumferential surface of the paper roll. When the paper roll reaches the near-end state, the detecting arm does not contact the outer circumferential surface of the paper roll and is moved, and a switch disposed at the main body becomes OFF.

A printer apparatus is disclosed that includes a main body having a paper roll installing part containing a paper roll therein; a cover covering the paper roll installing part when the cover is closed; a printing part for printing data onto a part of the paper roll; and a presenter unit part mounted on the cover. The presenter unit part is configured to accommodate the printed portion of the paper roll, cut off the printed portion from the paper roll, and discharge the cut-off printed portion therefrom.

The method includes a step of dividing the thermal heads into plural groups, providing for each of the groups a common potential terminal, a step of using a drive circuit to drive the thermal heads of one or more of the groups, and a step of applying an operating voltage to the common potential terminal of said one or more groups driven by the drive circuit.

A printer apparatus is disclosed that includes a printer unit, a first chassis, and a second chassis that is arranged to open/close through rotation. The printer unit includes a thermal head, a first module having a motor, and a second module having a platen roller and a rotating body. The first chassis includes a heat sensitive paper roll accommodating portion and a mount portion to which the first module is mounted. The second chassis includes mount portions to which the second module and a printed paper roll shaft are mounted, a printed paper roll accommodating portion, and a rotation transmitting mechanism. When the second chassis is closed, the heat sensitive paper roll accommodating portion is closed, the second module is coupled to the first module, the rotating body is rotated by the motor, and the shaft is rotated by the motor via the rotating body and the rotation transmitting mechanism.

A printer apparatus for printing data on paper traveling through the printer apparatus in a paper conveying direction. The printer apparatus includes a paper conveying portion including a driving roller and a driven roller, the driving roller and driven roller being moveable with respect to one another between an engaged position at which the driving roller and the driven roller are pressed together and a disengaged position at which the driving roller and the driven roller are separated; wherein the paper conveying portion is situated downstream, with respect to the paper conveying direction, from the location at which the data is printed on the paper; and wherein the driving roller and the driven roller are operative to pressingly sandwich the paper therebetween when the driving roller and the driven roller are in the engaged position.

A portable printer device is capable of holding a plurality of paper rolls. The portable printer device comprises a single printing portion which is provided for printing of each of the plurality of paper rolls. A paper roll hold device includes a plurality of paper roll hold portions each of which holds one of the plurality of paper rolls, and includes a plurality of paper passages each of which is provided to deliver a paper from one of the plurality of paper roll hold portions to the printing portion.

Portable printer device having a plurality of paper rolls

A printer with automatic cutter, provided with a built-in type cutting section. The printer includes a printing section, a cutting section arranged downstream of the printing section in a paper feeding direction, a support mechanism for supporting the printing section and the cutting section, and a drive source provided in the cutting section. The printing section acts to provide a print to printing paper fed continuously thereto. The cutting section includes a fixed blade and a movable blade which cooperate with each other to cut the printing paper, the fixed blade and the movable blade being shiftable relative to each other between a cooperative mutually-adjoining position and an uncooperative mutually-remote position. The support mechanism includes a first support member supporting the fixed blade of the cutting section and a second support member supporting the movable blade of the cutting section, the first support member being fixedly arranged to specify an operative printing point in the printing section and the second support member being shiftably arranged relative to the first support member. The drive source generates a driving force to move the movable blade on the second support member, the drive source being mounted on the first support member.

Printer and cutter

A roll paper cutter, for cutting roll paper which is fed out from a roll of paper so that it can be separated from an outer circumference of the roll of paper, comprises: a rail extending in the longitudinal direction of the rail perpendicular to the roll paper feeding direction; a stationary knife fixed at and supported by a carriage moving along the rail in the longitudinal direction of the rail; and a rotary knife pivotally supported by the carriage and rotated coming into contact with the stationary knife when the carriage is moved. When the carriage is moved in the longitudinal direction of the rail, a cutting edge intersection formed by the rotary knife, which is rotated by the movement of the carriage, and also formed by the stationary knife crosses and cuts the roll paper in the width direction.

Roll paper cutter

A printer with a guillotine cutter having a movable cutter and a removable fixed cutter in which the relative position between the fixed cutter and the movable cutter does not vary. A cutter fitting member with a bottom plate and a pair of side plates is fixed to the outside of a casing. The side plates respectively have a first projection with positioning holes and a second projection. A movable cutter driving section of the guillotine cutter has small projections that engage the positioning holes, and is fixed to the first projection with screws. The removable fixed cutter is disposed on the second projection with a bottom surface of a projection of the fixed cutter in the width direction closely contacting a first side of the cutter fitting member, and a right end surface of the fixed cutter projection closely contacting a second side of the cutter fitting member.

A printing apparatus includes: a paper roll containing part containing a paper roll; a printer unit provided side by side with the paper roll containing part, the printer unit printing information on paper pulled from the paper roll and cutting a piece off the pulled paper on which piece the information is printed; and a presenter unit. The presenter unit includes a reception opening formed on an upper side thereof and receiving the cut piece of paper delivered from the printer unit, first and second ejection openings formed on opposite ends of the presenter unit and ejecting the cut piece of paper, and a conveying mechanism conveying the cut piece of paper between the first and second ejection openings. The presenter unit is provided below the paper roll containing part and the printer unit so that the cut piece of paper is delivered into the reception opening.

Printer

A thermal printer is provided. The thermal printer includes a thermal head module, a platen module, and a gear module. The platen module and the gear module are connected to the thermal head module. When setting a recording sheet to the printer, the operator lifts up a knob provided to the platen module, so that the platen module is rotated counterclockwise around a pin provided to the thermal head module. In this manner, the platen separates from the thermal head, and setting a recording sheet becomes easier.
