A cable connector comprises a plurality of female contacts which are arrayed and held in a lateral direction inside an insulating housing , and a cable consisting of a plurality of conductors, the front ends of which are connected to said contacts and the rear ends of which extend externally from said housing. Here, the cable consisting of a plurality of conductors is an FPC cable wherein a plurality of signal conducting layers are formed on one face thereof and a ground conducting layer is formed on the other face thereof. The cable connector is constituted by connecting the signal circuit layers to the plurality of female contacts , and connecting the ground conducting layer to the shield cover in the housing.

A soldering apparatus has a base composed of a base plate and a column fixed on the base plate, a heating device vertically movably mounted on the column, an operational lever for moving the heating device up and down along the column, and a table horizontally movably provided on the base plate. The heating device includes a heating member with a constant-heat source and a heating head, which is attached to the heating member. The heating head is made of a material which has a high heat conductivity, and it includes a mount portion, a contact portion, and a conductive portion. This mount portion is mounted on the heating member, and the contact portion is to touch a part to be soldered of an object. The conductive portion connects the mount portion with the contact portion and conducts heat which is supplied from the heating member to the mount portion, to the contact portion. The table is movable between a loading position and a soldering position on the base plate. At the loading position, the object is loaded or discharged, and at the soldering position, the part to be soldered of the object on the table is located under the heating head.

An electrical connector of the zipper type comprises first and second connector members with respective rows of contact elements and insulating elements which are brought into intermeshing relation when the connector members are closed together. The contact elements are located in a mold as stamped and formed contact strips and in-molded with a carrier of resilient insulating material, which also covers one side of each contact element in insulating relation, to provide an elongate connector member which can be handled as only a single piece.

A method of manufacturing a small electronic device includes intermittently feeding predetermined length of a base film, which forms a film strip; arranging electronic elements, e.g., a film-like liquid crystal display cell, a film-like solar cell and a printed circuit board, on a predetermined region of the film strip; arranging a frame on the film strip, so that the frame surrounds the electronic elements; depositing an adhesive onto the film strip; placing a panel on the film strip; moving press means on the panel from one end of the panel to the other end thereof, thereby pressing the panel and bonding the same to the film strip; and cutting the film, thereby forming a semifinished product. This method further includes detecting the position of the periphery of the semifinished product and trimming unfinished portions with a laser beam, thereby forming a finished product of a prescribed shape and size.
