A shadow mask with a low thermal expandability of an Fe--Ni-based alloy and a high surface hardness is disclosed. This shadow mask includes a mask main body consisting of an Fe--Ni-based alloy containing iron and nickel as main constituents, a large number of fine electron beam apertures formed in the mask main body, and a surface layer formed on the surface of the mask main body and containing at least one compound selected from the group consisting of iron nitride, iron nickel nitride, iron boride, iron nickel boride, iron silicide, and iron nickel silicide.

Shadow mask and cathode ray tube

Disclosed is an Invar alloy original sheet for use in the production of a shadow mask, wherein the Invar alloy original sheet has the cleanliness measured by the method regulated in JIS G 0555, of 0.07% or less. Disclosed is also a shadow mask comprising an Invar alloy original sheet having the cleanliness mentioned above. By use of the Invar alloy original sheet of this invention, the problem of non-uniformity and irregurarity of inner wall surface of perforations formed on the original sheet for shadow mask is decreased to a great extent.

Ni-Fe base alloy sheet for use as a shadow mask and a shadow mask

An ingot of an Invar alloy is rolled in one direction into a plate, a number of slot holes are formed in this plate, and the plate is pressed into a curved form, thus providing a shadow mask of a color CRT. The slot holes of this shadow mask have longitudinal axes extending substantially at right angles to the rolling direction of the plate. The holes maintain their shapes after the plate has been pressed.

Shadow mask, and method of manufacturing the same

Color picture tube in which a tube element, e.g., the shadow mask, is constituted by an Fe alloy to which 25-45 wt % of Ni and at least some Cr are added. A Cr rich layer is formed on the tube element surface and black oxide film with a spinel structure containing Cr is formed on the surface of this film.

A pilfer-proof plastic closure comprising a top panel wall and a cylindrical skirt wall extending downwardly from the peripheral edge of the top panel wall. The skirt wall has formed therein a circumferentially extending breakable line dividing the skirt wall into a main portion above the breakable line and a pilfer-proof bottom portion below it. The main portion has formed on its inner surface an internal thread and the pilfer-proof bottom portion has formed on its inner surface a plurality of radially inwardly projecting engaging flaps at circumferentially spaced positions. Each of said engaging flaps has a first portion extending from the inner surface of the pilfer-proof bottom portion and a second portion extending further from the forward end of the first portion inclinedly to the first portion in the closing direction of the closure for mounting the closure on the mouth-neck portion.

Pilfer-proof plastic closure for containers

A pilferproof plastic closure comprising a top panel wall and a cylindrical skirt wall extending downwardly from the peripheral edge of the top panel wall. A circumferential weakening line extending circumferentially is formed in the skirt wall, and the skirt wall is divided into a main portion above the weakening line and a pilferproof bottom portion beneath it. An internal thread to be screwably fitted with an external thread formed on the mouth-neck portion of a container is formed on the inner surface of the main portion, and a plurality of radially inwardly projecting and circumferentially spaced engaging flaps are formed on the inner surface of the pilferproof bottom portion. An axial breaking line is formed in the pilferproof bottom portion which extends downwardly from the upper end of the pilferproof bottom portion but is non-existent in at least a greater portion of the lower part of the pilferproof bottom portion. At least a greater portion of the base edge of each of the engaging flaps is positioned in the aforesaid lower part where the axial breaking line does not exist.

Plastic container closure having pilferproof characteristics

A pilfer-proof plastic closure comprising a top panel wall and a cylindrical skirt wall extending downwardly from the peripheral edge of the top panel wall. The skirt wall has formed therein a circumferentially extending breakable line dividing the skirt wall into a main portion above the breakable line and a pilfer-proof bottom portion below it. The main portion has formed on its inner surface an internal thread and the pilfer-proof bottom portion has formed on its inner surface a plurality of radially inwardly projecting engaging flaps at circumferentially spaced positions. Each of said engaging flaps has a first portion extending from the inner surface of the pilfer-proof bottom portion tiltedly in a direction opposite to the direction of rotation of the closure at the time of mounting it on the mouth-neck portion of a container and a second portion bent with respect to the first portion and further extending from the end of the first portion. The first portion forms an angle .alpha. smaller than 90 degrees and the second portion forms an angle .beta. larger than the angle .alpha., both with respect to the tangent of the inner surface of the pilfer-proof bottom portion at the base edge of the engaging flap.

Disclosed is a bottle for a carbonated drink, which is formed by biaxial draw-blow molding of a polyester containing a surface active agent and being composed mainly of ethylene terephthalate units, wherein at least the barrel wall portion of the bottle is molecularly oriented biaxially so that the density is at least 1.34 g/cm.sup.3 as measured at 20.degree. C., and the surface active agent is distributed in the surface of the barrel wall portion so that the contact angle of the surface of the barrel wall portion to water is not larger than 76.degree.. In this bottle, the speed of transfer of carbon dioxide gas from the liquid phase of the drink to the gas phase at the time of opening the bottle is controlled to a very low level. Accordingly, occurrence of the cap missile phenomenon at the time of removing the cap from the bottle or reduction of the carbon dioxide content in the drink at the time of repeating sealing and opening of the bottle can effectively be prevented.

A peelable adhesive structure is disclosed which comprises a plurality of parts at least one of which is made of metal, adhering together by means of a coating, characterized in that said coating has a peelable surface formed between a first layer of a denatured hydrocarbon resin or denatured hydrocarbon resin composition having an acid value of from 0.1 to 20 and a second layer containing an epoxy resin.

Peelable adhesive structure

A container closure having a sealing liner comprising a vinyl chloride-type resin is provided which has excellent sealing properties, openability and hygienic characteristics. The liner is composed of a composition, especially a plastisol composition, comprising 100 parts by weight of the vinyl chloride-type resin and 35 to 200 parts by weight of a mixed fatty acid ester of glycerin derived from glycerin, at least one saturated or unsaturated fatty acid component having an even number of carbon atoms between 6 and 24 and at least one acetic or butyric acid component, such as a diacetyl higher fatty acid glyceride. A method for producing the container closure is also provided.

Container closure having a liner and method for its production

A closure cap having a liner adhered to a cap shell by a plurality of coating layers. Prize markings are printed on one of the coating layers and are positioned between the coating layers. The peel resistance in the interface between the coating layers is less than that between the topmost coating layer and the liner to assure that the prize markings will be transferred to the liner when the liner is peeled from the cap shell. The liner includes a starting portion which adheres to the topmost coating layer only slightly to facilitate easy removal of the liner from the cap shell.

A peelable bonded structure having a peel strength of 0.05 to 5 kg/cm comprises a plurality of articles, at least one of which is made of metal, bonded together through a composite coating layer. The composite coating layer is composed of adjacent first and second coating layers at least one of which comprises (A) a modified olefin resin having a carbonyl group concentration of 0.01 to 200 milliequivalents per 100 g of the olefin resin and (B) a coating film-forming base resin at an (A)/(B) weight ratio of from 0.2/99.8 to 40/60 and has a multi-layer distribution structure having resin concentration gradients in the thickness direction such that the modified olefin resin (A) is distributed predominantly in the portion contiguous to the interface between the two coating layers and the base resin (B) is distributed predominantly in the opposite portion.

Peelable bonded structures and process for preparing same

A cap adapted for use as a container cover where the cap has a thermoplastic resin liner pressed formed onto the inner surface of a cap shell. The plastic liner is formed such that the difference between the intrasurface orientation index of the outer peripheral portion of the liner and the intrasurface orientation index of the central portion of the liner does not exceed 0.37 where the intrasurface orientation index is defined as the sum of the orientation coefficient of the liner in the radial direction and the orientation coefficient of the liner in the circular direction. A method of making a cap having a thermoplastic liner where the liner is press-formed into shape under conditions whereby the difference between the intrasurface orientation index of the outer peripheral portion of the liner and the orientation index of the central portion of the liner does not exceed 0.37.

Lined closure

A method of manufacturing peelable adhesive structures. It comprises preparing a first paint solution containing vinyl resin and a stably emulsified hydrocarbon or natural resin having softening point less than 180.degree. C. and concentration between 50 and 200 parts by weight per 100 parts of vinyl resin dispersed in a continuous phase of the vinyl resin. The first paint solution is applied onto a metal base material (1) to form a first coating layer (2). A second coating layer (3) is formed by applying a second paint solution containing epoxy resin and polyethylene oxide at a concentration of between 0.5 and 90 weight percent of epoxy resin over the first coating layer. The first and second coating layers have thicknesses ranging from about 0.5 to 100 mg/m.sup.2. A layer of olefin resin (4) is joined to the second coating layer. The method is further characterized in that at least one of the coating layers comprises a peeling imparter at a concentration of between 50 and 200 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of resin, and a substantially linear saturated polyester wetting improver at a concentration of between about 2 and 50 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of resin and having a molecular weight of between about 5,000 and about 50,000. The resulting peelable adhesive structure has a peeling strength between about 0.05 and 5 kg/cm between the first (2) and the second (3) coating layers.

Method to improve wetting of peelable adhesive structures

A metal cap having a primer layer thereon which has a thermal adhesiveness with respect to a lining layer and wherein part of the lining at the bottom of a cap is thermally adhesively fixed to the primer layer. A method of manufacturing a metal cap including steps of applying a primer to the cap which has a thermal adhesiveness with respect to a lining layer and heating only a portion of the bottom of the cap to cause only part of the lining to become affixed to the primer.
