A door locking apparatus for a vehicle including: a first locking/unlocking mechanism driven by a first driving mechanism operable by a knob inside a car and a control switch, and switchable between an unlocked state where operations of inside and outside handles respectively provided inside and outside the car are effective, and a locked state where the operation of the outside handle is ineffective while that of the inside handle being effective; a second locking/unlocking mechanism driven by a second driving mechanism operable by the control switch, and switchable between an unlocked state where the operation of the inside handle is effective, and a locked state where the operation thereof is ineffective; and a third locking/unlocking mechanism switchable between an unlocked state for enabling a transmission of an unlocking force from the knob to the first locking/unlocking mechanism, and a locked state for disabling the transmission thereof.

Door locking apparatus for vehicle

A so-called super-lock condition of a door lock is achieved with a simple and compact construction. The door lock includes first and second lock/unlock mechanisms which establish the super-lock condition when assuming lock conditions respectively. The first and second lock/unlock mechanisms are actuated by an electric actuator mounted to the door lock. In a housing of the electric actuator, there are installed first and second electric motors and first and second operation levers. Due to power of the first electric motor, the first operation lever is switched between an unlock position causing the first lock/unlock mechanism to assume the unlock condition and a lock position causing the first lock/unlock mechanism to assume the lock condition, and due to power of the second electric motor, the second operation lever is switched between an unlock position causing the second lock/unlock mechanism to assume the unlock condition and a lock position causing the second lock/unlock mechanism to assume the lock condition.

Automotive door lock assembly

An automotive door lock assembly comprises a lock/unlock mechanism and an electric actuator which actuates the lock/unlock mechanism. At an initial stage of a door unlocking operation of the electric actuator, a passive lever is shifted from an engaged position where a lock/unlock lever and a sub-lever are engaged to move together to a disengaged position where the engagement between the lock/unlock lever and the sub-lever is canceled. When the passive lever is shifted to the disengaged position, the sub-lever can be quickly shifted to the unlock position by the force of a spring prior to shifting of the lock/unlock lever to the unlock position from the lock position by the electric actuator. With this arrangement, the electric actuator can be made of a relatively low power electric motor, and the lock/unlock mechanism can be quickly shifted to a door unlocking condition upon manipulation of a door handle.

A latch detector for automotive door locks is provided. The latch detector includes a detector body having a recess , a latch rotating in the receiving recess , a detecting switch attached to the detector body , for detecting the latch being in its full-latching position or the opening position and a detecting member having a first arm extending into the recess to be engageable with a cam part of the latch and a second arm exposing on the other side of the detector body . The detecting switch is positioned on the other side of the detector body so as to be operated by the second arm of the detecting member . With this waterproof arrangement, it is unnecessary to construct the detecting switch by a waterproof and expensive element.

Latch detector for automotive door locks

In a door lock unit of a vehicular door closure system, a closing lever and the outer periphery of a latching plate are disposed on substantially the same plane, the closing lever being provided in the vertical direction passes the upper part of the latching plate and is then bent downward, and corresponding parts of the closing lever and the wire being in the vertical direction, so that the amount of space required by the door lock unit within a door is reduced.

Door lock unit of vehicular door closure system

An electric door closure comprises a rotation lever connected to a first rotation shaft of a latch plate to rotate therewith. An electric door actuator is mounted in a lock proper. An arm member is pivotally connected to the lock proper through a second rotation shaft which is angled relative to the first rotation shaft. The arm member is pivoted by an electric actuator between the arm member being pivoted by an electric actuator between an operative position and an inoperative position. A connecting lever pivotally connects the arm member through a third rotation shaft which extends in parallel with the second rotation shaft. The connecting lever is movable between an engaging position, wherein, when the arm member is pivoted from the inoperative position to the operative position, a press portion is formed on the connecting lever to push an edge of the rotation lever to pivot the latch plate from the half-latched position to the full-latched position and a canceling position wherein the press portion is separated from the rotation lever in a direction perpendicular to a major surface of the rotation lever. The press portion is in abutment with the edge of the rotation lever to suppress the connecting lever from moving toward the engaging position, when the latch plate is in a zone between the open position and just before the half-latch position. An open lever is provided which moves the connecting lever and the locking plate to the respective canceling positions when actuated in a certain direction. A biasing spring is provided for biasing the connecting lever toward the engaging position.

Electric door closure

A door open/close detector is incorporated in a door lock device. The door lock device includes a case, a latch plate pivotally connected to the case to pivot between a latch position to latch a striker and an open position to release the striker, and a lock plate pivotally connected through a shaft to the case to pivot between a lock position to lock the latch plate in the latch position and an unlock position to unlock the latch plate. The door open/close detector includes a switch connected to the case. The switch includes a given surface and a detecting pin. The detecting pin is axially movable in both directions thereby to cause a head thereof to be retractable into and protrusible from the given surface. The detecting pin turns the switch ON and OFF in response to the axial movement thereof. An actuating lever is connected to the lock plate to pivot therewith and has a pin actuating portion. The pin actuating portion is slideable on the give surface while it is pressed against the same thereby to actuate the head of the detecting pin when the lock plate is pivoted about the given shaft between the lock and unlock positions.

Door open/close detector

A striker for use with a door lock proper has a unique structure. The door lock proper includes a body having a recess, a cover plate fixed to the body to cover the recess and having a striker receiving slot, a shaft extending between the body and the cover plate and a latch plate pivotally disposed about the shaft, the latch plate having a rounded recess which is directed toward an entrance of the striker receiving slot when the latch plate assumes a striker releasing position. The striker includes a base plate and a shank member which extends vertically from the base plate. The shank member is latchedly engageable with the latch plate upon insertion thereof into the striker receiving slot. The shank member has, at a portion thereof engageable with the latch plate, an oval cross section whose major axis extends in the direction along which the shank member travels into the striker receiving slot.

Striker of door lock device

An automotive electric door lock system comprises a door lock which includes a latch plate latchedly engageable with a striker secured to the vehicle and a locking plate which is pivotable between an engaging position wherein the locking plate engages the latch plate and a releasing position wherein the locking plate releases the latch plate. An electric actuator is employed for moving the locking plate from the engaging position to the releasing position when energized. A power supply device energizes the electric actuator when a door handle is manipulated. A control device is used for instantly stopping the electric power supply to the electric actuator when the locking plate arrives at the releasing position.

Automotive electric door lock system

A door lock device is mounted, for example, on the door of a motor vehicle such that, when a latch of the door lock device is moved to a half latch position where it barely engages a striker fastened, for example, to the vehicle body, a drive device is operated to forcibly move the latch to a full latch position where it is completely engaged with the striker. The door lock device includes a close lever coupled to the drive device and movable from a non-operation position to an operation position, and a sub-pole coupled to the close lever and movable between an engaging position where it is engaged with the latch and a releasing position where it is disengaged from the latch. The sub-pole engages the latch to move the latter to the full latch position in response to movement of the close lever to the operation position, and is moved to the releasing position upon movement of a door handle provided on the door. When the door handle is operated while the latch is being moved from the half latch position to the full latch position through the close lever and the sub-pole by the drive device, the sub-pole is disengaged from the latch to cause the latch to be disengaged from the drive device so that the door can be opened immediately.

Door lock device for a motor vehicle

A power door lock device comprises a latch plate pivotal about a first axis to assume an open position, a half-latch position and a full-latch position; a sub-lever pivotal about a second axis which is in parallel with the first axis; and a close lever pivotal about the second axis. The sub-lever has an engaged edge and is pivotally connected through a link to the latch plate, so that when the sub-lever is pivotal about the second axis to assume first, second and third angular positions, the latch plate takes the open position, half-latch and full-latch positions respectively. The close lever has an engaging edge which, when the close lever is pivoted from an inoperative position to an operative position, is brought into abutment with the engaged edge of the sub-lever to pivot the sub-lever from the second position to the third position. An electric drive device is used for forcing the close lever to pivot between the inoperative and operative positions. The latch plate, the link and the sub-plate are so arranged that the second angular position of said sub-lever is positioned near the first angular position of the same as close as possible.

Power door lock device

A door lock system comprises a door latch device which has a locking-unlocking lever. The door latch device is locked and unlocked when the locking-unlocking lever assumes lock and unlock positions respectively. An electric actuator includes a reversible electric motor and a pivotal operation lever which is actuated by the electric motor. The operation lever is connected to the locking-unlocking lever in such a manner when the operation lever assumes locking and unlocking positions, the locking-unlocking lever assumes the lock and unlock positions respectively. A first device senses a theft protecting operation which causes the operation lever to pivot from the unlocking position to the locking position. A second device locks the operation lever at the locking position when the first device senses the theft protecting operation.

Door lock system with first and second sensors

A vehicle door lock system including a power lock actuator for locking and unlocking a door by moving a lock lever, is further provided with a childproof and theftproof lock actuator for moving a block lever between a block position to prevent the swing motion of the lock lever, and an unblock position to allow the lock lever's swing motion.

Vehicle door lock system

An electric actuator for actuating a door lock comprises an electric motor having a drive shaft and an output shaft arranged coaxial with the drive shaft, the output shaft having a helical ridge formed thereabout. A clutch is interposed between the drive shaft and the output shaft, the clutch permitting only a power transmission from the drive shaft to the output shaft. An operation rod having a threaded bore is operatively engaged with the helical ridge of the output shaft, the operation rod being adapted to connect with an operation lever of the door lock; and a rotation suppressing structure suppresses rotation of the operation rod about its axis even when the output shaft is rotated about its axis.

Electric actuator for door lock

Herein disclosed is a lock device for use with electrically operated and manually operated actuating devices, which comprises a housing structure, a locking and unlocking lever which is received in the housing structure and is pivotal between a first position to cause a locked state of the lock device and a second position to cause an unlocked state of the lock device, and a first concealing structure which is integrally connected to the housing structure and conceals a mechanical connection between one end of the locking and unlocking lever and the electrically operated actuating device. With this construction, a so-called anti-theft function of the lock device is provided. In order to achieve a much more assured anti-theft function, the lock device further has a second concealing structure which is integrally connected to the housing structure and conceals another mechanical connection between the other end of the locking and unlocking lever and the manually operated actuating device.
