In a method to detect a stationary person by a tracking method using images, image feature quantities of objects, other than persons, are registered in advance, and when the image feature quantity of a stationary region of an image does not resemble the preregistered ones, the stationary region is recognized as a person. Hence, there has been a problem that it requires a large volume of image feature quantities to be collected and registered in advance. A person detecting device and a person detecting method which relate to the present invention determine a stationary region on the basis of the distance between the position of a first moving-object region extracted from an image and the position of a second moving-object region extracted from an image previous to the image of the first moving-object region. The presence or absence of a person is determined by using the image feature variation of the stationary region. Therefore, apparatuses can be controlled in accordance with person information including a stationary person without collecting and registering a large volume of the image feature quantities.

Person detecting device and person detecting method

A two-dimensional code reading device which can prolong the lifetime of the auxiliary light is provided. A two-dimensional code reading device in the present invention includes an image reading unit to acquire an image of a two-dimensional code printed on a ticket medium, a specific pattern detector to detect a specific pattern to identify the two-dimensional code from the image of the two-dimensional code acquired by the image reading unit, a two-dimensional code decoder to read information recorded in the two-dimensional code detected by the specific pattern detector, an auxiliary light to irradiate light on the ticket medium and an auxiliary light controller to control turning on and off of the auxiliary light, wherein the auxiliary light controller turns on the auxiliary light when the specific pattern is detected by the specific pattern detector and the information recorded in the two-dimensional code cannot be read by the two-dimensional code decoder.

Two-dimensional code reading device

A seat framework for use in a bus, which is basically from by a tubular seat back frame member and a tubular seat cushion frame member. The seat framework is fixed via a support leg element on a floor of the bus and provided with a reinforcement element which includes an angle portion of L-shaped cross-section and a tubular portion. The reinforcement element is provided between the seat framework and the support leg element, such that the angle portion thereof is fixed on either of the two lateral frame portions of the seat back frame member, while the tubular portion thereof is fixedly connected with the support leg element. The reinforcement element may be so formed as to include two angle portions and a tubular intermediate portion defined between the two angle portions.
