Disclosed is an internal-combustion engine controller capable of improving emission characteristics at a start of an internal-combustion engine. When injection during an exhaust stroke is controlled in a port-injection engine, the engine controller ECU performs the first fuel injection during tto taccording to a memory-based crank angle as illustrated in FIG.() at a fuel injection timing before determination of an actual stroke. Thus, the injected fuel has been introduced into a cylinder during the actual stroke. If fuel is not injected during tto twithin the next exhaust stroke as denoted by the solid line, this causes misfire in the cylinder, so that the engine rotation at the start cannot be smooth. Thus, the ECU clears a finished fuel injection flag (F_INJ) at an incorrect crank angle storage determination timing (t) as denoted by the dashed-dotted line, thereby capable of controlling the fuel injection.

A stop control system for an internal combustion engine, which controls a stop position of a piston of the engine, is provided. An valve opening amount of an intake air flow rate control valve is determined based on the detected engine rotational speed and the detected crank angle after the ignition switch is turned off, and the intake air flow rate control valve is controlled so that the valve opening amount of the intake air flow rate control valve coincides with the determined valve opening amount. For example, the valve opening amount of the intake air flow rate control valve is determined according to the crank angle at the time the engine rotational speed decreases to reach a predetermined range, and the intake air flow rate control valve is controlled to be opened. With this control, the intake air amount of the engine is increased so that the stop position of the piston coincides with the desired position.

A suction cup includes a suction cup main body, an attachment surface and a gel layer. The surface of the gel layer serves as a suction surface. In a method of manufacturing a suction cup, a cavity is formed in the inside of a common mold and a primary mold. Next, a synthetic resin material is injected into the cavity, to mold the suction cup main body. Subsequently, the primary mold is opened, to obtain the suction cup main body. Next, a secondary mold is mated to the common mold, whereby a cavity is formed in the inside of the common mold and the secondary mold. Subsequently, a gel is injected into the cavity, to mold the gel layer. Next, the secondary mold is opened, to obtain a suction cup composed of the gel layer and the suction cup main body, on the common mold.

In order to effectively perform on/off control for an air-conditioning system carried on an automobile during idling operation of the automobile, if a state, in which a difference between a target idling number of revolution and a net idling number of revolution is larger than a preset difference value, is continued for a preset period of time, then an electromagnetic clutch is disconnected, and a compressor is allowed to be in an operation stop state. After that, if the difference is smaller than the preset difference value, and a state, in which the difference is smaller than the preset difference value, is continued for a preset period of time, then the electromagnetic clutch is connected, and the compressor is restored to be in an operating state. By doing so, it is possible to previously avoid the occurrence of vibration of the vehicle body due to vibration of the engine, and the occurrence of booming noise in the vehicle's cabin caused by the vibration. The air-conditioning system is automatically restored to be in the operating state when it is judged that the state of the engine is restored. Therefore, the convenience of use of the air-conditioning system is improved.

Method and apparatus for controlling vehicular air-conditioning system

An evaporative fuel-processing system for an internal combustion engine includes a canister for adsorbing evaporative fuel generated in the fuel tank, a charging passage, a pressure-regulating valve for regulating pressure within the fuel tank to a predetermined value, a bypass passage, a bypass valve for opening and closing the bypass passage, a purging passage, an open-to-atmosphere passage for relieving the interior of the canister to the atmosphere, a tank system formed by a part of the charging passage on one side of the bypass valve closer to the fuel tank, inclusive of the fuel tank, and a pressure sensor for detecting pressure within the tank system. An ECU opens and closes the bypass valve at cold starting of the engine, and compares the difference between output values from the pressure sensor obtained before and after opening of the bypass valve with a predetermined value. Presence of leakage from the tank system is checked based on the result of the comparison.

Evaporative fuel-processing system for internal combustion engines

A fuel supply control system for an internal combustion engine installed in a vehicle has an ECU which controls the amount of fuel to be supplied to the engine according to the rotational speed of the engine detected by a rotational speed sensor and load on the engine detected by a load sensor. The supply of fuel to the engine is interrupted when the detected rotational speed of the engine exceeds a first predetermined value, and the supply of fuel to the engine is resumed when the detected rotational speed of the engine drops below a second predetermined value which is lower than the first predetermined value. When the supply of fuel to the engine is resumed, the air-fuel ratio of a mixture supplied to the engine is leaned by decreasing the amount of fuel to be supplied to the engine, depending on at least one of the detected load on the engine and the detected traveling speed of the vehicle.

Fuel supply control system for internal combustion engines

There is provided an air-fuel ratio control system for an internal combustion engine. The air-fuel ratio control system has an air-fuel ratio sensor arranged in an exhaust passage of the engine, which generates an output proportional to concentration of oxygen in exhaust gases emitted from the engine. The air-fuel ratio of a mixture supplied to the engine is controlled to a desired air-fuel ratio in response to the output from the air-fuel ratio sensor by the use of a proportional term and an integral term. A repetition period of inversion of the output from the air-fuel ratio sensor with respect to a predetermined reference value is calculated. Deterioration of the air-fuel ratio sensor is detected based the repetition period of inversion of the output from the air-fuel ratio sensor.

Air-fuel ratio control system for internal combustion engines

An air-fuel ratio sensor deterioration-detecting system is provided for an internal combustion engine having first and second air-fuel ratio sensors arranged in the exhaust system upstream and downstream of a catalytic converter therein. An ECU calculates a control parameter, based on an output from the second air-fuel ratio sensor, calculates an air-fuel ratio correction amount, based on an output from the first air-fuel ratio sensor and the calculated control parameter, and executes air-fuel ratio feedback control, based on the calculated air-fuel ratio correction amount. The ECU also determines deterioration of the second air-fuel ratio sensor, based on the output from the same in such a manner that the air-fuel ratio correction amount is increased or decreased by a predetermined amount, based on the output from the second air-fuel ratio when a variation in the second air-fuel ratio sensor output falls within a predetermined small variation range during execution of the air-fuel ratio feedback control, and the second air-fuel ratio sensor is determined to be deteriorated when the output variation falls within the predetermined small variation range even after the increase or decrease of the air-fuel ratio correction amount.

An idling rotational speed control system for an internal combustion engine installed in a vehicle including an air-fuel ratio sensor arranged in the exhaust system, and an ECU which corrects the air-fuel ratio of an air-fuel mixture supplied to the engine in a feedback manner responsive to an output from the air-fuel ratio sensor, by using an air-fuel ratio correction amount calculated according to the output from the air-fuel ratio sensor. The rotational speed of the engine is detected, and the ECU controls the rotational speed of the engine during idling to a desired value in a feedback manner responsive to the detected rotational speed of the engine. The ECU determines whether the idling rotational speed control system is abnormal, based on the detected rotational speed of the engine and a control parameter used for the control of the rotational speed of the engine during idling. The idling rotational speed control system includes at least one of a brake system operation sensor for detecting operation of the brake system, and a throttle valve opening sensor for detecting opening of the throttle valve. When at least one of conditions is satisfied that the brake system is operated, the opening of the throttle valve exceeds a predetermined value, and the air-fuel ratio correction amount falls outside a predetermined range, the abnormality determination is inhibited.
