An electromagnetic reciprocating fluid device in which a movable member is equipped with permanent magnets, resists a torque rotating the movable member about an axis thereof in the reciprocating direction. The electromagnetic reciprocating fluid device has a pair of electromagnets facing each other, and permanent magnets disposed in a space between the opposed electromagnets and held by a movable member. When an alternating current is applied to coils formed in the electromagnets, a magnetic force is generated between the electromagnets and the permanent magnets, whereby a driving force for reciprocation is applied to the movable member. One end of the movable member is connected to a piston of a first piston-cylinder assembly, while the other end is connected to a piston of a second piston-cylinder assembly. The first and second piston-cylinder assemblies are arranged such that an axis line of the first piston-cylinder assembly and an axis line of the second piston-cylinder assembly are non-coaxial and vertically offset from an axis of the movable member.

Electromagnetic reciprocating fluid device

A magnetic armature is attracted and driven by a magnetic force which is intermittently generated between magnetic poles, and a piston reciprocated by being pushed back by a coil spring is not rotated by the coil spring. When the magnetic armature () as attracted between the magnetic pole members () by the magnetic force comes to a predetermined rotational angle position about the axis, the armature receives a rotational torque that is derived from the magnetic force and acts in a direction opposite to that of the rotational torque applied by a coil spring (), thereby preventing the armature from being rotated in the predetermined direction. More specifically, the armature () has a circular cross-section as a whole and has a chamfered part (') parallel to the axis. When the chamfered part enters between the magnetic pole members, the armature receives a rotational torque that is derived from the magnetic force.

A piston slidably inserted in the cylinder of a gas pump, said cylinder having a cylinder head and an outlet valve located near the cylinder head. The piston comprises a cylindrical piston body and a wear-reducing sheet wound one time around the piston body. The opposing edges of the wear-reducing sheet are cut stepwise, such that at least two gaps are formed between the edges, which are set apart from each other for a predetermined distance in the circumferential direction of the piston body, and such that no gap portion is formed between the edges, which connects the two gaps and extends substantially in the circumferential direction of the piston body.

Piston for use in a gas pump

A free piston to be slidably inserted in the cylinder of an electromagnetic reciprocating compressor. The piston has a partition wall dividing the inner space of the cylinder into chambers, and a rod connected to the partition wall. The partition wall has an air hole. A valve member is attached to the front surface of the partition wall, and usually closes the air hole of the partition wall. The rod extends rearwardly from the rear-end surface of the partition wall. The rod has a substantially conical hole which extends rearwardly from the front-end surface of the partition wall. The piston further comprises a retainer cap closing the opening of the substantially conical hole and holding the valve member in an openable condition.
