The present invention provides a portable terminal enabled to eliminate complexity caused when the placement of a display portion is changed by a user to view a picture. A portable terminalis configured to be able to cause a control portionto select a picture display mode in which a picture display is started in a display portion, when a configuration is changed by turning a lower casingand an upper casingaround a first support shaftto an intersecting configuration, in which the lower casingand the upper casingintersect with each other, from one of a spread configuration, in which an operating portionand the display portionare arranged substantially in the same direction by performing a relative turn of the lower casingand the upper casingaround a second support shaft, and a standby configuration in which the operating portionand the rear surfaceof the upper casingare faced to each other by performing a relative turn of the lower casingand the upper casingfrom the spread configuration around the first support shaftin a direction of an arrow.

Portable terminal

It is an object of the present invention to provide a digital camera and a portable telephone equipped with a digital camera in which while a user views one monitor screen, the user can selectively photograph an image located in the side of the face of the user and an image located in an opposite side to the face of the user without turning out the digital camera or the portable telephone having the digital camera under a state that the user holds the digital camera or the portable telephone having the digital camera. The digital camera and the portable telephone having the digital camera of the present invention include a first camera mounted on a first surface of a casing member, a second camera mounted on a second surface in the back side of the first surface of the casing member and a camera selecting unit for selecting a photographing camera. Thus, while the user holds the portable telephone having the camera, the user can photograph the face of the user himself or herself by the first camera, can photograph a scene viewed by the user himself or herself by the second camera or can photograph both the face and the scene at the same time. Further, a synthesizing unit is provided for synthesizing the images respectively photographed by the first camera and the second camera. Accordingly, a synthesized photograph obtained by synthesizing both the images can be taken or after the images are photographed, the images can be synthesized.

Digital camera and mobile telephone having digital camera

There is provided a portable information terminal having a built-in radio communications device which minimizes a drop in the voltage of a battery and diminishes the operation threshold voltage of the portable information terminal, thereby lengthening the operatable time of the terminal. In the portable information terminal, when a radio communications section is in a transmission state, a microprocessor of an interface and a microprocessor of an information processing section are brought into a hold state, thereby deactivating the interface and the information processing section. As a result, the operating current required during transmission can be minimized. When the radio communications section is not in a transmission state, the information processing section and the interface are activated. Even when the radio communications section is in a voice communication state and when information is not input to the information processing section for a given period of time, the information processing section and the interface are deactivated. A voltage drop due to internal resistance of the battery is diminished by distributing or reducing the electric current dissipated by operation, in accordance with operating conditions. Consequently, the portable information device can be operated even when the voltage of the battery drops, thus lengthening the operatable time.

Portable terminal device with power saving information processing

PC card integrated radio communication apparatus is provided wherein the service hour is prolonged and battery charge is made possible in the operating state where current consumption of the radio communication section is small, by controlling power distribution to each section of the apparatus and to control battery charge for power supply from a PC card slot and power supply from a battery, depending on the power supply state of the personal computer and operating state of the apparatus. The circuit configuration includes switch circuits (C , C , C , C ) so that power source for respective power circuits (C , C ) of the radio communication section (C ) and the modem section (C ) can be selected from the PCMCIA I/F (b ) of a personal computer or a signal, or both of them simultaneously. This allows selection of the optimum power supply mode depending on the connection mode and operating state of the apparatus. The circuit configuration also includes a charger circuit (C ) thus allowing charge of the battery (C ) via power supply from the PCMCIA I/F (b ) in a state where operating current of the apparatus is small.

PC card integrated radio communication apparatus

An illumination apparatus wherein in case a liquid-crystal display is lighted with plural colors using a body of luminous elements composed of plural luminous elements, a character, a mark and others can be also securely and plainly displayed so that a user can read the character, the mark, the digit and others and in addition, the system is not large-sized, and mobile information equipment provided with the illumination apparatus. The apparatus includes a printed board, a body of luminous elements in which plural luminous elements mounted on the printed board and different in a wavelength are integrated, a light conductor provided with light conducting means for conducting light to a predetermined surface from the body of luminous elements as a light source and an approximately rectangular liquid-crystal display held by the light conductor for displaying a character, a mark, a digit and others with them irradiated by the light conducting means are provided, light incident on the incident part of the light conductor is conducted, reflecting on a reflecting surface and an incidence plane and the whole liquid-crystal display is lighted.
