An illumination device includes: a first light source device and a second light source device that emit light in directions opposite to each other in a first direction; a reflective portion that is disposed between the first light source device and the second light source device, and reflects the light emitted from the first light source device and the second light source device in a second direction crossing the first direction; and a cooling device that is disposed on one side of the reflective portion in a direction crossing the first direction and the second direction, and blows cooling air to the first light source device and the second light source device.

Illumination device and projector

A projector includes a circulation cooling device, a controller that controls the projector, and an exterior housing that accommodates the circulation cooling device and the controller and forms the exterior of the projector. The circulation cooling device includes a cooling fan that blows a cooling gas to an object to be cooled, a heat absorber that absorbs heat of the gas having cooled the object to be cooled, and a relay section that forms, along with the closed housing, a closed space and relays electrical connection between the cooling fan and the controller, and the relay section includes a double-sided substrate having an inner surface which faces the closed space and on which a connection member electrically connected to the cooling fan is arranged and an outer surface which faces away from the closed space and on which a connection member electrically connected to the controller is arranged.

An optical device includes a plurality of light modulators modulating a plurality of incident color lights with respect to each color light, a light combining optical unit having a plurality of light incident surfaces that the plurality of modulated color lights respectively enter, and combining the plurality of entering color lights, a holding part holding the light modulator, and a supporting part loosely fitting and supporting the holding part, and disposed in a location facing the light incident surface of the light combining optical unit, wherein the supporting part has an extending part extending in a direction away from the light incident surface, and a locking part having a first slope is provided in an end part in an extension direction of the extending part.

A centrifugal fan introducing air via an inlet port in a direction of a rotation axis and discharging the air via an outlet port in the a direction of a centrifugal force produced by rotation includes: an impeller having a plurality of vanes around the rotation axis; and a housing including the inlet port and supporting the impeller such that the impeller is allowed to freely rotate in the housing. An inclined portion is formed at least at a part of edge portion of the inlet port, the inclined portion widening to the side that the impeller is disposed.

A projector includes: an optical modulation device configured to modulate an incident luminous flux; a projection optical device configured to project the luminous flux modulated by the optical modulation device; and a cooling device configured to cool the optical modulation device, wherein the cooling device includes a cooling fan, and a duct having a discharge portion that causes the air discharged from the cooling fan to circulate in a direction approximately parallel to the optical axis, and discharges it to a lateral side of the optical modulation device, and the duct is disposed in a state that, when the projection optical device and discharge portion are cut by a plane perpendicular to the optical axis, the height position of a first center between the upper end and lower end of the cross-section of the discharge portion and that of the optical axis differ from one another.

A projector includes: spatial light modulation devices; and a cooling duct configured to flow a cooling air for sequentially cooling the spatial light modulation devices, the cooling duct has a first flow path formed by portions including the light entrance surface of at least one of the spatial light modulation devices for the respective color lights, a second flow path formed by portions including the light exit surface of the corresponding spatial light modulation device, and a junction area where the cooling air flowing through the first flow path and the cooling air flowing through the second flow path join each other, and the junction area is disposed at a downstream position of the cooling air with respect to the spatial light modulation device provided for a predetermined color light whose light amount is the maximum in the respective color lights that enter the light entrance surface.
