A silver halide photographic material is disclosed comprising a blue-sensitive silver halide unit containing a yellow coupler, a green-sensitive silver halide unit containing magenta coupler, and a red-sensitive silver halide unit containing a cyan coupler, wherein a coefficient of utilization of an oxidation product of a color developing agent in a maximum density area of the blue-sensitive unit is not less than 80%, that of the green-sensitive unit is 30 to 75% and that of the red-sensitive unit is not less than 80%.

A silver halide photographic emulsion is disclosed, containing tabular silver halide grains each comprising plural silver halide phases different in a silver iodide content from each other, in which a highest silver iodide containing phase has a silver iodide content of not less than 5 mol % and less than 15 mol %, and a lower silver iodide containing phase is present outside and contiguous to the highest silver iodide containing phase; the tabular grains having 5 or more dislocation lines per grain and accounting for not less than 30% by number of total silver halide grains, the tabular grains further having a hole trap zone within the grain.

A process for producing a silver halide photographic material and a photographic material produced thereby are disclosed. The process comprises the steps of (1) forming a seed emulsion comprising silver halide seed grains, (2) growing the seed grains to prepare a silver halide photographic emulsion by supplying a silver ion component and a halide ion component to the mother liquid of the seed emulsion, (3) coating and drying the photographic emulsion on a support to form the silver halide emulsion layer, and at least a period during the step for growing the seed grains is performed in the presence of silver iodide grains, and an oxidant capable of converting metallic silver to silver ions is added at a time during the step for growing the seed grains.

Process for producing silver halide photographic light-sensitive

A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material, having provided at least one silver halide emulsion layer on a support and a back coating layer on the other side thereof, wherein the support has a loss modules at 50.degree.C. of 0.03 or more, is disclosed. The back coating layer has a gelatin content of 6 g/m.sup.2 or less, and the ratio of the gelatin content of the back coating layer to that of the emulsion layer was 0.3 or more.

A silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material is provided which comprises a support having thereon a blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, a green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer and a red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, having a spectral sensitivity distribution such that a wavelength weight-averaged in spectral sensitivity distribution of the red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer is within a range of 595 to 625 nm; a maximum sensitivity wavelength in spectral sensitivity distribution of the blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer is within a range of 415 to 470 nm; and a sensitivity of the blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer at 480 nm does not exceed 35% of the sensitivity at the maximum sensitivity wavelength. The color photographic material makes it possible to faithfully reproduce the hues such as purple colors and green colors.

Color photographic light-sensitive material offering excellent hue

A silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material which offers high chroma and excellent hue reproduction comprises a support having thereon a blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, a green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer and a red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, wherein the maximum sensitivity wavelength .lambda..sub.B of a spectral sensitivity distribution of said blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer is in the range of 410 nm.ltoreq..lambda..sub.B .ltoreq.470 nm; and the sensitivity of said blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer at 480 nm is not more than half of the sensitivity at said wavelength .lambda..sub.B. Preferably, the maximum sensitivity wavelength .lambda..sub.G of said green-sensitive layer is in the range of 530 nm.ltoreq..lambda..sub.G .ltoreq.560 nm and the sensitivity of said green-sensitive layer at the wavelength of 500 nm is not less than one-fourth of the sensitivity at SG.sub.max ; the maximum sensitivity wavelength .lambda..sub.R of said red-sensitive layer is in the range of 595 nm.ltoreq..lambda..sub.R .ltoreq.625 nm and the maximum sensitivity of red-sensitive layer in the range of 400 nm to 480 nm is not less than 1.5% of the sensitivity of blue-sensitive layer at .lambda..sub.B.

A silver halide photographic material that contains a polymer including a repeating unit represented by the following general formula (I) and having a weight average molecular weight of no more than 30,000: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; Z represents the atomic group necessary to form a lactam ring, an oxazolidone ring or a pyrrolidone ring; A is a simple linkage, --CO--, --COO(CH.sub.2).sub.n or --CONR.sup.2 (CH.sub.2).sub.n where R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, and n is an integer of 1-6. This photographic material experiences a minimum level of increase in fogging during rapid processing and produces image having improved sharpness and granularity.

There is disclosed a silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material which is improved in image sharpness, pressure resistance and sweating. The photographic material comprises a support and provided thereon a coupler-containing layer, wherein said coupler-containing layer has substantially no high-boiling solvent; and said coupler-containing layer or another layer comprises a silver halide emulsion containing silver halide grains which are formed by supplying silver halide fine grains.
