Provided is an electronic timepiece including: an antenna configured to receive a standard radio wave, a pointer, a motor configured to drive the pointer, a circuit board having a front surface mounted with a semiconductor device including an active region, and a magnetic shield plate disposed at a back surface side of the circuit board, the magnetic shield plate having a shape that overlaps at least a portion of the motor and does not overlap the active region of the semiconductor device in plan view as viewed in a direction orthogonal to the front surface of the circuit board.

An electronic timepiece includes a date indicator that is an analog display member, a date indicator motor that drives the date indicator, a display position storage that is a nonvolatile memory that stores position information on the date indicator, a receiver that is a time information acquirer that externally acquires time information, and a control section that outputs a drive signal to the date indicator motor and stores the position information on the date indicator in the display position storage whenever the date indicator motor activated with the drive signal drives the date indicator.

A reception circuit can receive a plurality of standard time signals and has a reception means for selectively receiving and demodulating any one of the plural standard time signals, and a control means for outputting a control signal that controls the reception means. The reception means includes a signal amplifier unit for amplifying a reception signal representing the received standard time signal; a signal extraction unit for extracting a signal of a specific frequency from the amplified reception signal; a rectifier unit for rectifying the extracted signal of the specific frequency; and a demodulation unit for demodulating the rectified signal of the specific frequency. The signal extraction unit includes a plurality of crystal filters corresponding to the frequencies of the plural standard time signals; a plurality of parallel capacitances corresponding to the plural crystal filters and parallel connected to the plural crystal filters; a filter switching unit for switching the plural crystal filters based on the control signal; and a parallel capacitance switching unit for switching the plural parallel capacitances based on the control signal. The control means outputs to the filter switching unit and the parallel capacitance switching unit a control signal denoting the switch states enabling the reception means to receive the standard time signal.

Reception circuit, radio-controlled timepiece, and reception circuit control method

In an analog electrical timepiece with a motor coil, when an external operating member is in a prescribed operating condition, the operating mode of the analog electrical timepiece is set to the data receive mode. Next, the analog timepiece generates a synchronization signal which is in synchronized to an external synchronization signal that is input from outside. Then, the analog electrical timepiece, when the operating mode is the data receive mode by the detection circuit, based on a synchronization signal and a data voltage signal that is a voltage signal induced around the motor coil by a data signal input from outside, generates and outputs a receive data.

A watch has a crown for manual time adjustment, a receiver for receiving current time update signals by radio transmission, an internal counter for counting the passage of time according to an internal oscillator, and time display hands. The watch preferably does not have a means for determining the position of its time display hands and therefore relies on user intervention for roughly correlating its time display hands to its internal counter. Preferably, the user begins a manual time correction operation when the second hand is at a predetermined position between 0-60 seconds. When the crown is pushed in, the seconds count value of the internal counter is reset to the predetermined position, and the watch waits for reception of a current time radio signal. When a radio signal is successfully received, the received seconds value is compared to the seconds count in the internal counter. If the time difference is within +30 seconds, the internal time is deemed to be advanced by the difference, and if the time difference is within &#x2212;30 seconds, the internal time is deemed to be delayed by the difference. The received time data is written into the internal counter, and the time display hands are moved according to the deemed time difference.

Radio-controlled timepiece and control method for the same

This oscillation circuit includes a crystal oscillator and a main circuit portion connected by a signal path to the crystal oscillator and driven by the crystal oscillator. The main circuit portion is provided with a DC-cutting capacitor that galvanically separates the signal path between the input side of an inverter that is connected by the signal path to the crystal oscillator and an input terminal Xin of the signal path. A potential stabilization circuit is also provided, connecting the input terminal Xin of the signal path to the output side of the inverter through a resistance element.

An electronic timepiece charging device for charging an electronic timepiece comprising: a generator for converting external energy into electric energy; a secondary power source for storing the electric energy generated by the generator; a timepiece driving circuit for performing a time-keeping operation; and a time display circuit for displaying time information from the timepiece driving circuit, wherein, the timepiece driving circuit is connected in parallel to the secondary power source; and the secondary power source comprises an equivalent capacitive component for storing an electric charge and a resistive component formed by a part of the equivalent capacitive component. The resistance value of the resistive component is set to a value such that a voltage drop is caused, whereby when the generator generates a current equal to or greater than a predetermined value, a voltage to be applied to the timepiece driving circuit by the generator is equal to or greater than the lowest operation starting voltage.
