An acoustic system includes: a first customer-side microphone; a first counselor-side microphone; a first sound changing unit; a first loudspeaker; a second customer-side microphone; a second counselor-side microphone; and a second loudspeaker. Between the second loudspeaker and the first customer-side microphone, a first sound transmission path is provided. Also, between the second loudspeaker and the first counselor-side microphone, a second sound transmission path is provided. These sound transmission paths have substantially the same length. The first sound signal generated by the first customer-side microphone is made to have a phase substantially opposite to that of the second sound signal generated by the first counselor-side microphone, and the sound signals are added together.

Sound picked up by a microphone of a first sound field is reproduced by a speaker of a second sound field, and a sound picked up by a microphone of the second sound field is reproduced by the speaker of the first sound field. Sound pressure detection section detects a sound pressure of a sound present in the second (or first) sound field picked up by the microphone of the second (or first) sound field, other than a sound reproduced by the speaker of the first (or second) sound field. Other sound pressure detection section detects a sound pressure with which the sound picked up by the microphone of the second (or first) sound field and reproduced by the speaker of the first (or second) sound field is picked up by the microphone of the first (or second) sound field. Sound-pressure-difference detection section adjusts a gain of an automatic gain adjustment section in such a manner that the two detected sound pressures assume a predetermined relationship. Thus, any sound picked up in one of the first and second sound fields can be reproduced in the other sound field with an enhanced sense of unity and connection between the two sound fields.

Picked-up-sound recording method and apparatus

Main speakers are arranged on the enclosure front surface of an electronic piano. Auxiliary speakers (L,R) are arranged on the rear surface of the enclosure. Microphones are arranged in close proximity of the main speakers. A performance sound is regenerated from the main speakers. The regenerated sound from the main speakers is picked up by microphones (L,R). FIR filters are used to generate the reflected signal of a picked-up sound signal from the microphones. The generated reflected sound signal is regenerated from auxiliary speakers.

Tone generator section generates tone signals of tone colors corresponding to tones of various musical instruments. As an electronic tone is generated in response to performing operation, the electronic tone is picked up by microphones corresponding to left and right channels, and picked-up sound signals thus generated by the microphones are then subjected to signal processing, such as reverberation impartment utilizing acoustic conditions of the interior of a room. Picked-up sound signals having undergone such signal processing are audibly reproduced via rear speakers. Then, once an automatic adjustment instruction is given from a user, measuring tones are reproduced stereophonically, and contents of the signal processing of the individual channels are adjusted on the basis of measured results of picked-up sound signals generated by the microphones picking up the reproduced measuring tones.

A music apparatus is constructed for introducing a music sound into an acoustic space, and is equipped with an acoustic feedback system for introducing a reflection sound into the acoustic space. In the music apparatus, an input device sequentially provides performance information. A sound source generates a music signal representative of the music sound in response to the performance information provided from the input device. A plurality of channels of the acoustic feedback system are provided in the music apparatus, and are spatially separate from each other. Each channel is structured by a microphone for collecting a sound from the acoustic space to produce a sound signal representative of the sound introduced into the acoustic space, a processor for processing the sound signal to generate a reflection signal representative of a reflection sound in the acoustic space, a mixer for mixing the reflection signal and the music signal with each other to form a mix signal, and a loudspeaker for acoustically reproducing the mix signal to introduce the music sound and the reflection sound into the acoustic space.

A chair includes a main body with a seat, openings formed in the greater part of the lower surface of the seat, a sound absorbing structure contained in the seat while facing the openings, and a louver having a series of openings defined with a number of slats that may be turned for opening and closing. The louver is located in front of the series of openings. When the seat is unoccupied, the slats of the louver are turned for opening. When the seat is occupied, the slats are turned for closing. The chair is adequate for concert halls or theaters.

A sound field control device includes an acoustic feedback signal path including a chamber and one or more loudspeaker or loudspeakers and one or more microphone or microphones provided in the chamber, the loudspeakers being disposed at a predetermined distance from the microphones, and at least either the loudspeakers or the microphones being provided in the plural, an electrical feedback signal path for feeding back a collected sound signal collected by the microphone or microphones to the loudspeaker or loudspeakers, and a collected sound signal supply control circuit provided in the electrical feedback signal path for changing, with lapse of time, a signal level of each collected sound signal fed back from the microphones to the loudspeakers. The transmission route of the collected sound signal is completely switched or the ratio of distribution of the collected sound signal is changed. Coloration in hearing is thereby reduced and a margin of howling is expanded without causing unnaturalness in hearing.

An acoustic analysis device using a reduced scale model comprises a model of a reduced scale of 1/n, a loudspeaker and a microphone provided in the model, a sound signal forming circuit for forming a signal to be radiated by AD-converting an analog signal to be measured at a predetermined sampling frequency, storing the converted signal in a first RAM, reading out the stored signal at a first sampling clock and DA-converting the read out signal, a collected sound reproducing circuit for reproducing collected sound by AD-converting an output signal from the sound collecting device at a second sampling clock, storing the converted signal in a second RAM and reading out the stored signal at a third sampling clock, a sampling clock control circuit for setting the first sampling clock frequency at a value which is n times as high as the predetermined sampling frequency and setting the second sampling clock frequency at a value which is n times as high as the third sampling clock frequency, and an acoustic analysis circuit for acoustically analizing the output of the collected sound reproducing circuit. A frequency conversion device used for the acoustic analysis device comprises the above described sound signal forming circuit, collected sound reproducing circuit and sampling clock control circuit.

Each assisted acoustics system includes acoustic energy input devices and acoustic energy output devices whereby a uniform rate of power decay coefficient can be effected throughout the hall, including spaces under balconies and the like. Significantly improved the degree of acoustic similarity between the stage area and audience seating area is achieved by controlling reverberation characteristics.

Method and apparatus for controlling the sound field in auditoriums

A reverberation imparting device for electro-acoustically enhancing reverberation in acoustic space comprises a microphone disposed in the acoustic space, a loudspeaker disposed in the acoustic space for diffusing the sound picked up by the microphone, and feedback means comprising a signal processing circuit for electrically processing an electric signal corresponding to the sound picked up by the microphone, an output of the signal processing circuit being supplied to the loudspeaker. The microphone, feedback means and loudspeaker form a feedback loop. The signal processing circuit comprises a circuit for subjecting impulse responses of finite length to a convolution operation. Time axis of reflected sounds is extended and extension of reverberation time thereby is realized without depending upon loop gain. Density of reflected sounds is increased by subjecting impulse responses of finite length to a convolution operation whereby separation of reflected sounds is prevented.

Reverberation imparting device

A device for measuring reverberation characteristics in a reverberation room by a digital squaring and integrating computation process. According to the invention, only a part of digital data of a large word length obtained by squaring and integrating a reverberation signal is selected out for computing the reverberation characteristics in accordance with a measuring environment such as integration time and duration of a test pulse. By this arrangement, circuitry for computing the reverberation characteristics can be made compact and time required for computing can be shortened without sacrificing the accuracy of measurement. Further, according to the invention, the level of an input signal can be computed and displayed by computing intermediate squared and integrated data at a certain time interval and adding this data with compensation data corresponding to a frequency band width of the input signal. The compensation data is automatically calculated in accordance with a set frequency of the test pulse so that a concise input signal level computation and display circuit can be provided.
