A milling tool includes a shank section and a head, the head provided on a tip end side of the shank section and having cutting edges. The head includes an expanding diameter section and a contracting diameter section, the expanding diameter section gradually increasing in diameter as it spans toward the tip end from a base end portion adjoining the shank section, and the contracting diameter section gradually decreasing in diameter as it spans toward the tip end from a maximum diameter section. At least one cutting edge is provided on each of the expanding diameter section and the contracting diameter section. At least one tip-end cutting edge that extends from the contracting diameter section to a center axis of the milling tool is provided on a tip end portion of the head.

Milling tool and workpiece machining method

A milling tool is configured from a shank part and a head with a cutting edge that is provided on the leading end of the shank part. The head comprises an expanding diameter section, the diameter of which expands gradually from the base end that contacts the shank part in the direction of the leading end, and a decreasing diameter section, the diameter of which gradually decreases from the maximum diameter section in the direction of the leading end. At least one cutting edge is provided on each of the expanding diameter section and the decreasing diameter section.

In a T-shaped tool () in which a head () having cutting edges () and a cylindrical shank () are fastened together: the shank comprises a super-hard alloy, and an engaging portion which engages with a tool main body is formed in a distal end portion thereof; the tool main body comprises a steel material, and an engaged portion which engages with the engaging portion of the shank is formed therein; and the engaging portion and the engaged portion are fastened in such a way as to be retained and prevented from rotating.

T-shaped tool, and method for manufacturing T-shaped tool

A T-shaped tool is configured by fastening a head having cutting blades to a cylindrical shank, the shank is made of cemented carbide and has a tapered male thread formed at a tip end portion thereof, the tapered male thread becomes smaller in diameter toward the tip end, and the head is made of steel and has a tapered female thread formed therein, and the tapered female thread comes into engagement with the tapered male thread.
