A method of raster-scan search for multi-region OSD and a system using the same are provided. The multi-region OSD is to be displayed on a screen after an alpha-blending of a mixer. The method includes at least following procedures. First, a global header search is executed in the first memory module for each or a portion of a plurality of search lines so as to determine a blending region and store header addresses of OSD regions in a second memory module. Next, whether there is a dummy region at the search line is determined. In addition, an alpha value for the dummy region, a dummy data of the dummy region and the OSD data of the OSD regions at the search line are transmitted to the mixer.

Method of raster-scan search for multi-region on-screen display and system using the same

An image enhancing system uses a perfect reconstructing filter to process image signals within a specified resolution and enhance the image signals. The image enhancing system includes an image-signal-obtaining unit, a first-signal-group processing unit, a high-pass/low-pass-image obtaining unit, a brightness-adjusting unit, a threshold unit, an amplifying unit, an adder and a normalizing unit. The image-signal-obtaining unit obtains nine image signals from three lines of image signals. The first-signal-group processing unit processes the nine image signals. The high-pass/low-pass-image obtaining unit obtains a high-frequency image signal and a low-frequency image signal. The brightness-adjusting unit adjusts the brightness of the low-frequency image signal. The threshold unit processes the noise of the high-frequency image signal. The amplifying unit amplifies the high-frequency image signal. The adder adds the high-frequency image signal and the low-frequency image signal. The normalizing unit normalizes the result of the adder to obtain an enhanced image.

A method of encoding and decoding image data by applying an image capturing device includes generating a difference coding group, applying an modified Hadamard transform (MHT) on the difference coding group to generate a corresponding low-frequency parameter and a plurality of corresponding high-frequency parameters, adjusting the low-frequency parameter, adjusting the high-frequency parameters by a quantification factor, decoding the low-frequency parameter, decoding the high-frequency parameters by the quantification factor, and applying an inverse modified Hadamard transform (IMHT) on the low-frequency parameter and the high-frequency parameters to decode the difference coding group.

Method of encoding and decoding image data by applying image capturing device

A method for transforming an original image to a new image is provided. The original image includes M rows of original data; the new image includes Q rows of new data. The method first generates a (2i&#x2212;1)th row and a (2i)th row of intermediate data respectively based on the (2i&#x2212;1)th row and the (2i)th row of original data. Then, the method generates a (2i+1)th row and a (2i+2)th row of intermediate data respectively based on the (2i+1)th row and the (2i+2)th row of original data. During the process of generating the (2i+1)th row of intermediate data, the (2j&#x2212;1)th row of new data is simultaneously generated based on the (2i&#x2212;1)th row and the (2i+1)th row of intermediate data. During the process of generating the (2i+2)th row of intermediate data, the (2j)th row of new data is simultaneously generated based on the (2i)th row and the (2i+2)th row of intermediate data.

Method and apparatus for adjusting size of image

A variable length decoding apparatus and method for the image format of a digital video camera (DV) is provided for decoding the images of a digital video camera on the PASS2 decoding layer. The apparatus comprises a first register, a second register, a third register and a fourth register for saving a bit stream, a barrel shifter for producing output data with a length of sixteen bits, a bit stream generator for generating the combined bit stream, a programmable logic array for decoding the image by looking up the table, a controller for controlling the decoding process and fixed length decode, and an accumulator for accumulating the bit number of the bit stream that is being decoded. The present apparatus can decode much higher frequency components, and the quality of the decoded image is better and the color of the decoded image is more vivid.
