A microscope system for imaging of an object that can be placed in an object plane of a microscope system includes an imaging system for providing at least one pair of optical imaging paths that include a stereoscopic angle in the object plane. The imaging system includes a first subsystem comprising a first plurality of optical lenses that are commonly traversed by both optical imaging paths of the at least one pair of optical imaging paths. The imaging system also includes a second subsystem comprising a second plurality of optical lenses that are traversed by only one optical imaging path. At least two optical lenses of the first plurality of optical lenses and at least two optical lenses of the second plurality of optical lenses are displaceable relative to one another along a common optical imaging path to respectively vary a magnification of the representation of the object.

Microscopy system

A microscope or stereomicroscope for representing an object that can be placed on an object plane of the stereomicroscope provides at least one pair of optical paths and comprises at least one deflection element with a reflecting surface and a representation system containing several optical elements. The optical elements include a plurality of lenses. In addition, the optical elements are configured in such a way that pupil planes of the optical representation paths intersect the reflecting surface of the deflection element or are located at a distance from said reflecting surface less than 1.5 times the diameter of one of the reflecting surfaces along the optical representation paths on the closest lens of the plurality of lenses. An alternative embodiment provides a stereomicroscope with a particularly compact construction, in which at least one pair of optical representation paths is reflected on a first, second, third, and fourth reflecting surface.

Stereoscopic microscope

The invention relates to optics comprising adjustable optical elements and, if desired, lenses of fixed focal lens. By use of an appropriate controller for the adjustable optical elements, characteristics of the optics can be advantageously varied. For this purpose, systems are provided which are suitable for use as surgical stereo-microscope, objective, ocular or zoom. A zoomable imaging optics comprises lenses and of variable optical power, which are oppositely controlled by means of a controller to change an imaging ratio, so that the optical power of the one lens is increased and the optical power of the other lens is decreased. Moreover, the imaging optics may comprise still further assemblies of fixed optical power.

A stereomicroscopy system is disclosed for viewing an object and/or an intermediate image produced of an object, in microsurgery. The stereomicroscopy system includes an objective system with an object plane for positioning the object and/or the intermediate image to be viewed. The stereomicroscopy system also includes a beam interchanging and image inverting system. The beam interchanging and image inverting system supplies a first beam bundle directed to the left from the object plane in the direction of the objective system to the right of the objective system. The beam interchanging and image inverting system also supplies a second beam bundle directed to the right from the object plane in the direction of the objective system to the left of the objective system. The beam interchanging and image inverting system also inverts image orientations of the two beam bundles. The beam interchanging and image inverting system includes at least one Porro prism of the second kind.

Stereomicroscopy system

The invention relates to a zoom system for imaging, with a variable scale of imaging, a fixed entrance plane (16) onto a likewise fixed target plane (15). The zoom system includes a proximal partial system (T.sub.1) with variable converging power and a distal partial system with fixed converging power. The proximal partial system itself includes a distal component (10) and a proximal component (8), which respectively have a positive converging power. The converging power of the proximal component (8) is substantially greater than the converging power of the distal component (10). The proximal partial system (T.sub.1) acts as a collimator. The rear focal plane is virtual. Between the proximal component (8) and the distal component (10), two components (9a, 9b) with negative converging power are displaceable along the optical axis for varying the magnification. These displaceable components (9a, 9b) have a high converging power, so that a large variation of the imaging scale between 1.times. and 20.times. can be attained with short displacement paths. The zoom system preferably serves for focusing a therapy laser beam in a laser slit lamp. Due to the high converging powers in the proximal portion of the zoom system, the laser beam is greatly widened, and the beam waist is located behind the target plane (15), by which means high intensities in the front region of the eye are avoided.

The invention is directed to an afocal zoom system for a surgical microscope. The zoom system has an even number of members and is symmetrically configured.

The invention is directed to an endoscope having an especially simple optical system within an endoscope tube 22. The imaging system of the endoscope tube includes a front group 25 having a negative refractive power and an inner group 28 having a positive refractive power. The front group 25 and the inner group 28 conjointly define a telescope system which permits the object plane 24 to be imaged in the intermediate image plane 32 without intermediate imaging at a distance of 200 mm to 600 mm from the distal end of the endoscope tube 22. Otherwise, only glass rods having planar-parallel end faces are mounted within the endoscope tube. A field optic is preferably a part of the viewing component. An adequate transmission and correction with respect to chromatic and monochromatic imaging errors is possible notwithstanding the simple optical configuration. The front group and inner group can also be configured as aspherical individual lenses. The endoscope is especially useable as a disposable endoscope because of the simple configuration of the optic.

A pancratic magnification system for at least two observation beam paths within a stereo microscope consists of a first and a second optical component that are displaceable in a defined manner along a common optical axis, following which a third, stationary, optical component is arranged. Variation of magnification is achieved by means of defined displacement of the first two optical components. A focusing on a desired object plane can be effected by displacement of only the first optical component. The pancratic magnification system is arranged after a common main objective for said at least two observation beam paths within the stereo microscope.

The invention relates to a stereoendoscope having a sight line folded relative to the tube axis. The endoscope includes a distal front optic having a deflecting prism 4b. The deflecting prism 4b is mounted between a component 4a having a negative refractive power and a proximal component 4c having a positive refractive power. The inlet pupils 11 of the viewing component are imaged demagnified in the reflecting prism 4b by field optics (7, 7', 13) and transmitting optics (8, 8', 14). In this way, the beam can be guided free of vignetting without field cropping for both stereo channels through the endoscope tube and through the reflecting prism 4b even for a large object field angles and without image cropping. The endoscope tube 2 and the viewing component 1 are rotatable with respect to each other about the optical axis 12 within the endoscope tube 2 so that the line of sight can be changed for a viewing component fixed in space. The stereo basis remains for a rotation of the endoscope tube 2 fixed in space.

An adapter is provided for connecting a stereoscopic endoscope having intertwined stereo beam paths to electronic documentation devices. The adapter has a releasable connection to the endoscope at a location at which the stereoscopic component images are not yet completely separated. A second releasable connection between the first releasable connection and the end of the adapter can be provided which faces toward the electronic documentation devices in order to provide a variable adaptation to different optics diameters of the stereoscopic endoscope.

The invention is directed to a stereoscopic endoscope wherein an intermediate image is generated in a rod-shaped endoscope attachment. The intermediate image is imaged into the focal plane of an objective. The objective can be the main objective of a surgical microscope with the objective having a long focal length or the main objective of a stereoscopic recording system. The main objective and an in-coupling optic conjointly define an inverted telescope.

The invention is directed to a zoom system for at least two stereoscopic viewing beam paths and includes a multi-element pancratic magnification system as well as an afocal inverting system arranged downstream of the pancratic magnification system at the viewing/documentation end. The inverting system images the stereoscopic pupillary plane or the apparatus pupils of the viewing/documentation unit approximately in the center of the pancratic magnification system. The zoom system is especially suitable for a stereomicroscope.

An ophthalmoscopic attachment 1 for a surgical microscope 13 accommodates an optical system 14 which erects an inter-image of the fundus (or other particular area of the vitreous body of the eye) produced by at least one ophthalmoscopic lens 8 and interchanges the optical viewing paths. The optical system 14 is located directly behind the produced inter-image at a point where the stereoscopic optical viewing paths are still intertwined. The optical system 14 is configured either as a triplet with field lenses or as a straight-view inversion prism. The attachment also includes a lens 15 that is (a) positioned between the optical system 14 and the lens end of the attachment, and (b) movable along the optical axis of the attachment to put the critical section of the eye into focus.
