An optical observation device () for observing an eye () is described, having a microscope means (), in particular a stereoscopic means, for observation of the anterior segment of eye (), and having a means () for visualizing the retina of eye (), particularly a stereoscopic means, with at least one camera (), in particular, a digital camera. In order to provide an optical observation device (), with which the anterior eye () and the retina can be observed alternately, in particular stereoscopically, in a constructively simple way, it is provided according to the invention that visualizing means () is designed as an attachment module in front of microscope means () and that visualizing means () is disposed on a positioning device () and can be positioned in front of eye (), in particular, at a short distance in front of eye (), via positioning device ().

Optical observation device for observing an eye

Disclosed are an illumination device for an observation device comprising one, two or more observation beam paths with one respective beam of observation rays, especially for an ophthalmologic surgical microscope, and a corresponding observation device. Said illumination device is provided with at least one light source for generating at least one beam of observation rays in order to illuminate an object that is to be observed. According to one embodiment of the invention, at least two partial bundles of illumination rays are provided, each of which extends coaxial to a corresponding beam of observation rays, while the partial beams of illumination rays are embodied so as to form two or several illumination spots on the fundus of an object that is to be observed, e.g. an eye, said illumination spots having variable sizes, thus allowing the illumination beam to cooperate in a precisely defined manner with the observation beam paths, which makes it possible to meet especially the practical requirements regarding homogeneity of the red reflex.

The lighting device () has a light source () as well as a number of optical components, which are provided between light source () and an objective element (). The optical components are designed according to the invention in such a way that the imaging of the lighting pupil () and the observation pupils is produced on the fundus of the eye (). In this way, an exactly defined interaction of the lighting beam path () with an observation beam path is made possible, whereby practical requirements can be fulfilled relative to the homogeneity of the red reflex with simultaneous sufficiently good contrasting.

The invention concerns an objective () for an observation device (), whereby the objective comprises an objective-lens-system, which consists of a first optical subcomponent () on the object side and a second, optical subcomponent (), whereby the second optical subcomponent () is arranged at a distance (d) to the first optical subcomponent () on the optical axis of the objective, and one of the subcomponents () possesses a positive refractive power and the other subcomponent () possesses a negative refractive power, which is hereby characterized in that the objective () has a zooming device. In addition, the invention concerns a microscope, which contains such an objective. Finally, a method for adjusting an objective () of an observation device () is provided with the invention.

The invention relates to an image reversion system () which enables an image reversion and beam transposition of a plurality of observation beam paths (and) to be carried out simultaneously. The system includes at least one Porro prism system and is designed in such a way that it can be arranged in a convergent beam path. The inventive system is suitable as an image reversion system in an ancillary module for operational microscopes used in ophthalmoscopy due to the low overall height thereof.
