In order to accommodate a relatively large number of paper storage reels (11-17) with diameters of relatively large size in correspondence with a relatively large paper reservoir in a space of relatively small dimensions, storage reels (12-15) are also arranged in side-by-side relationship, i.e. laterally offset with respect to the paper feed slots (21-27) of the printer (20). The path segments of the paper webs (2-5) extending in this case in part skewed with respect to the paper feeding direction of the printer are made possible by rerouting members (52/62, 53/63, 54/64, 55/65, 42-45) at which the paper webs are guided on a rerouting path extending along part of a helical winding.

Device for feeding several paper webs to a printer

A coin feed opening (16) formed in the lid (1) of the coin collection box is associated with a closure with a closing slide (17) displaceble by means of a moving mechanism (49, 45, 46) operable on the outside of the coin collection box. An escapement (29-32) designed as a jump mechanism makes possible, after every closing of a lock (6) securing the lid (1) against unauthorized opening, only a one-time opening and subsequent closing of the closure. Once the coin collection box is in the automat in its predetermined position, a catch (57, 59) blocking the closure in the opening direction (28) is released by a bolt (53) fixedly connected to the automat. At the same time, the bolt (53) is locked by means of a latch (58) in the coin collection box when the closing slide (17) is in the open position.

The compartments (3) of a compartment ring (1) rotatable stepwise about its horizontal axis (2) are bounded at the ring end faces by circular-ring walls (6, 7), at the outer ring circumference by a cylindrical annular wall (19) exhibiting at the top an inlet opening (23) leading into respectively one compartment (3a), and at the inner ring circumference by a conical annular wall (20) exhibiting at the top an outlet opening (24) offset with respect to the inlet opening (23) in a direction of rotation (17) of the ring, this outlet opening leading into a coin return channel (26) and into a coin overflow channel (27). Upon rotation of the ring in this direction (17), the last-received coins drop into the coin return channel (26). Upon rotation in the opposite direction (18), respectively one coin is received while another coin, exceeding the capacity of the compartment ring (1), drops into the coin overflow channel (27). The conical shape of the inner annular wall (21) prevents that a coin, dropping through the inlet opening (23) into a compartment (3a) and rebounding, projects temporarily into the inlet opening (23) where it could block the coin collection box during the immediately subsequent rotation of the compartment ring. Ribs (34) on the compartment walls (4) prevent sticking of a coin to the walls. By means of ribs (35) at the outlet opening (24), the coins are lifted before they reach this opening, and are thereby detached from the compartment walls (4), if necessary.

Coin collection box for automatic cashiers and coin changers

Several guide channels (6, 7) for respectively one paper web are arranged in a fan shape, these channels being oriented toward the nip (5) of a pair of feed rolls (1) of a printing device (2, 3) and each being equipped with a gripper (8, 9). In the rest position, each gripper (8, 9) is in contact with a web of paper, and the free ends of the paper webs have a spacing from the nip (5). The gripper (9) for the paper web to be printed advances the latter until it has entered the nip (5) of the rotating pair of rolls (1), then releases the web, and initially remains in its position (8). The pair of rolls (1) further conveys the paper web first into its printing position, after the printing step into its cutting position, and after cutting again in the reverse direction. Before the paper web leaves the nip (5), the gripper (8) engages once more and returns into its rest position (9), entraining the paper web, so that the end of the latter, produced by the cutting step, assumes the position occupied by its previous free end prior to the advancement of the grippers. In this way, it is possible to print in any desired sequence onto various paper webs and also directly in succession onto one and the same paper web.

Printing machine

The matrix head (1) of a matrix printer is guided close to the printing site (2) on a round bar (7) by means of profiled rollers (8) absorbing the reactive force during printing and being fixedly mounted at the matrix head (1) and by means of guide rollers (9) absorbing the force of gravity of the matrix head (1) and being resiliently mounted at this head, and is slidingly guided, at the head end facing away from the printing site (2), on a rail (15). A cord drive serves for displacing the matrix head (1), this cord drive comprising a cord (31, 32, 33, 34, 35) guided over a cord pulley (17) at the matrix head (1) and over further cord pulleys (19, 23, 24) and over a driving pulley (26), the ends (29, 30) of this cord being fixedly attached beside the ends of the round bar (7). Thereby the matrix printer can be constructed in a compact and lightweight fashion and can be operated with accuracy even in case of strong vibrations.

Matrix printer carriage arrangement

In a matrix printer, the knife blade (27) of the cutting device for the imprinted paper is integral with a cam carrier of a planar sliding cam drive roller (3) supported on the matrix printing head (1). Three cam sections (41, 42, 43) on the cam carrier are contacted by the drive roller (3) as it moves back and forth with the matrix printing head (1) during printing, and the drive roller contacting one of the cam sections (42) to move the knife blade laterally of the imprinted paper to cut it as it leaves the printing site, and contacting another of the cam sections (43) to return the knife blade to its retracted position.
