A rotary slide valve is provided in the form of a cylindrical pin member which is rotatable within said mounting bore and includes a surface before variable throttling of said bypass channel independence upon the rotational position of said rotary slide valve.

Combustion air blower for an auxiliary heater for a motor vehicle

A heating device for pre-heating liquid fuel, especially diesel fuel and for heating devices of a low heating performance which are independent from a motor have a heating performance which is suitable for mounting into vehicles, which are driven by the liquid fuel. The pre-heating is effected by a transmission of heat of the exhaust gas to the fuel of the heating device, the fuel being lead through a continuous tubular wrapping in one layer or through a hollow cylinder formed or positioned around the exhaust pipe. This wrapping or hollow cylinder is part of the fuel main from the fuel tank to the fuel supply pump of the heating device. A pre-heating of the content of the tank is effected by the return of the pre-heated, but not burnt fuel through a fuel return main back into the tank. A heat transmitting jacket is advantageously disposed between the wrapping, or a hollow cylinder and the exhaust gas pipe.

Fuel pre-heater for liquid fueled engine

An arrangement for space heaters for motor vehicles, which are fired with liquid fuel including, (depending on the type of burner used), a glow plug for either igniting a fuel/air mixture and/or vaporizing fuel. Only one type of glow plug, i.e., a glow plug designed for a 12-V electrical system, is normally employed. If the motor vehicle has a 24-V battery, a compensating resistor, which has the same electrical resistance as the glow plug, is connected in series with the glow plug. The amount of electrical energy converted into heat in the compensating resistor is practically equal to that transformed in the glow plug. The compensating resistor is integrated within the burner housing, in which case it is located in the flow path of the combustion air and is properly cooled by the air flowing past it, to provide a safe trouble free and space-saving arrangement.

This wrapping or hollow cylinder is part of the fuel main from the fuel tank to the fuel supply pump of the heating device. A pre-heating of the content of the tank is effected by the return of the pre-heated, but not burnt fuel through a fuel return main back into the tank. A heat transmitting jacket is advantageously disposed between the wrapping, or a hollow cylinder and the exhaust gas pipe.

A heater plug is cooled with combustion air for diesel oil-burning heating appliances, especially those provided with a vaporizing burner. The plug is screwed into a burner pipe joint, enclosing but spaced inwardly of the plug. The pipe joint also has inlet for supplying the fuel, and it is fastened to the furnace wall of the heating appliances. The burner carries a continuous lengthwise bore, accessible from one end face and opening into the heater plug coil, the inner end of the bore being connected to the combustion air channel across a proportioning throttle.
