A decompression device for an internal combustion engine having a camshaft (4) with at least one cam (21) having a base circle (20) and a lobe elevated therefrom, a valve acting at a combustion chamber, and a transmitting member, e.g., a push rod (12), transmitting the lift of the cam (21) to the valve, has a control shaft (5), a decompression cam (11) and a ratched wheel (8) connected to the control shaft (5), and a shifting member (14) interworking with the ratched wheel (8) for resetting the decompression cam (11). The decompression cam (11) is arranged between the transmitting member and a cam-free part of the camshaft (4) and the shifting member (14) is arranged eccentrically at the camshaft (4) at a distance to the axis of the camshaft (4) which is greater than half the root diameter thereof. By this arrangement it is possible to lift the transmitting member, e.g., the push rod from the base circle of the cam of the camshaft without further supplementary means, simply by turning the decompression cam.

Decompression device

As a counterbalance for an internal combustion engine a counterbalanceweight (7) driven by a crankshaft (2) of the engine by means of a non slipping drive is pivoted on a shaft (6) and combined with the driven part (8) of the non slipping drive. As a stretching or tensioning arrangement for the transmission means (9) of the non slipping drive, the shaft (6) supporting the counterbalanceweight (7) is provided with an eccentrically arranged journal pin (10) pivoted and lockable in the housing (1) of the engine.

Counterbalance for an internal combustion engine

A cylinder head for an air-cooled internal combustion engine having its intake and its exhaust ducts each arranged transversely to the direction of cooling air flow and having groups of cooling fins arranged vertically and perpendicularly with respect to the cylinder axis and air leading surfaces. The groups of cooling fins and the air-leading surfaces are located with respect to each other such that the cooling air is split into a number of partial cooling air streams, thus enabling controlled cooling of the entire cylinder head and a uniform temperature distribution in the cylinder head.

Cylinder head for an air-cooled internal combustion engine

Means for attaching an elongated injection nozzle to a cylinder head of an injection-internal combustion engine, which head includes means presenting a nozzle receiving bore in a surface thereof, the attachment means comprising, means in the cylinder head presenting a threaded guide hole disposed adjacent the nozzle receiving bore and extending generally in the same direction as the bore, abutment means on the injection nozzle including a surface extending transversely of the longitudinal axis of the nozzle and facing away from the cylinder head, elongated clamp means having a member at one end disposed in contact with the nozzle surface facing away from the cylinder head and collar means at the other end presenting an opening disposed in alignment with the guide hole, the collar means including an element that is elongated in the direction of the guide hole and extends into the latter, the element and guide hole cooperating to limit movement of the clamp means in directions other than parallel to the guide hole, and screw means extending through the collar means and into threaded engagement with the threads of the guide hole for forcing the member of the clamp means and thereby the injection nozzle toward the cylinder head.

Means for securing an injection nozzle

A decompression device for internal combustion engines to enable easier starting, comprising a camshaft operated balancer acting on a valve of the engine, a rotatable decompression cam acting on the balancer, and a rotation device to rotate the decompression cam during starting, the balancer and the rotation device being designed to enable minimum space requirement and symmetrical motion of and forces on the decompression mechanism.
