In the method for transferring at least one item to be packaged into a container and for transporting the filled container onward, the container is arranged in a transfer area, which is arranged next to a linear motor transport device. The at least one item to be packaged is conveyed in a conveying direction to a transfer position by the linear motor transport device. After that, the at least one item to be packaged is moved from the transfer position to the transfer area, where the container is filled with the at least one item to be packaged. Then, the filled container is moved from the transfer area to the transport device and is transported onward by the transport device in the conveying direction.

Method for transferring items to be packaged into containers and for transporting the filled containers onward

In the method for transferring at least one item to be packaged into a container and for transporting the filled container onward the at least one item to be packaged is conveyed in a conveying direction to a transfer position by a linear motor transport device. The at least one item to be packaged is then moved from the transfer position to an intermediate storage area, which is arranged next to the transport device. A container is conveyed in the conveying direction to the transfer position by the linear motor transport device, and the at least one item to be packaged is moved back from the intermediate storage area to the transport device, thus filling the container. Afterwards, the filled container is moved onward in the conveying direction by the linear motor transport device.

The transport device for conveying products comprises at least one pair of movable slides and an endless guide rail for guiding the at least one pair of slides, one behind the other, in a variable conveying direction. A linear motor drive device serves to drive the at least one pair of slides. A retaining element is provided on each of the two slides, wherein the retaining elements of the first slide and of the second slide form a product receiving space between them. The retaining elements on the first and second slides are each rotatably supported around a rotational axis, which is substantially perpendicular to the variable conveying direction. At least one connecting element is provided to connect the retaining elements of the first and second slides together in such a way that the relative orientation of the retaining elements to each other is determined.

Transport device for conveying products

The device for transferring stacks of blister packs comprises at least one transfer cassette for holding a stack of blister packs, the transfer cassette comprising a bottom element and at least two opposing side boundary elements. A transfer cassette motion unit serves to move the transfer cassette in the conveying direction and in a direction transverse to the conveying direction and is configured in such a way that the transfer cassette is movable from a loading position, in which it is loaded with the stack of blister packs, to an unloading position, in which the stack of blister packs is transferred to a compartment of a conveying device. During unloading, the transfer cassette is moved laterally out of the compartment and thus out of the unloading position in a direction transverse to the conveying direction, whereas the stack of blister packs remains on the conveying device.

Device for transferring stacks of blister packs

A conveyor system has a pair of main conveyor belts having confronting inner stretches oriented horizontally and vertically adjacent one another parallel to a transport direction and extending through a weighing station. The belts are spaced to grip vertical sides of a succession of objects and moved to advance the objects between them in the direction through the weighing station. A weighing conveyor belt has a horizontally oriented and upwardly directed stretch between and underneath the main belts at the station. The main-belt stretches are deflected apart generally only at the station for releasing objects gripped by the main belts and setting them to rest with their full weights on the weighing belt in the weighing station. The weighing belt moves to advance the objects through the weighing station. This way the objects on the weighing belt can be individually weighed.

Weighing conveyor

A sun wheel is centered on a sun axis between a magazine and a conveyor, a planet carrier is rotatable about the sun axis and defines a planet axis generally parallel to but offset from the sun axis, and a gripper shaft is journaled in the planet carrier at the planet axis and carries a gripper. A planet wheel carried on the gripper shaft is coupled by a toothed belt with the sun wheel. A first drive rotates the planet carrier about the sun axis and thereby rotates the gripper about the first planet axis to move the gripper through a hypocycloidal path past the magazine and the conveyor. An erecting shaft pivotal on the planet carrier carries an erecting element, and a second drive rotates the erecting shaft and its erecting element and unfolds a flattened box blank held by the gripper.

Apparatus for erecting boxes and setting them on a conveyor

A conveyor chain has a succession of longitudinally succeeding links, a respective entrainment lug projecting transversely outward from each link and formed with a latch seat and a plurality of identical entrainment elements. The entrainment elements each have a transversely outwardly projecting entrainment arm, a transversely inwardly open socket adapted to fit complementarily over a respective one of the lugs, a formation in the socket engageable in the seat of the respective one lug, and a longitudinally extending brace bearing transversely inward on at least one of the lugs adjacent the respective one lug.

Box-conveyor chain

A method for process control and documentation in a boxing machine for individual packages each having an individual package transponder and wherein the individual packages are stacked and the box is provided with a transponder as well. A writing unit writes information with respect to the individual packages to the respective individual package transponders and a reading unit for the transponders serves to control subsequent packaging operations. The operations are also documented on the box transponder.

Method for process control and documentation in a boxing machine

A supply holds a flattened box blank above a conveyor passing having a succession of box seats, and a planet carrier is rotated by its own drive about a sun axis between the supply and the conveyor. A single planetary element on the carrier offset from the sun axis is rotatable about a planet axis parallel to and offset from the sun axis. A grab on the planetary element is engageable with the blank in the supply and in the conveyor seats. A planet drive wheel is fixed to the planetary element, a sun wheel is rotatable about the sun axis, and the wheels are coupled together for joint synchronous rotation. A separate planetary drive connected to the sun wheel rotates the planetary element independently of the carrier such that the grab moves while orbiting about the sun axis through a closed asymmetric path having only two outer points.

Erecting box blanks on a conveyor

An object-sorting system has a conveyor having a horizontally extending stretch, a plurality of pushers fixed on and spaced along the conveyor and extending upward from the stretch thereof, and an upright chute adapted to hold a stack of objects and having a downwardly open outlet spaced above an upstream end of the conveyor stretch. An elongated support surface extends horizontally above the stretch and has an upstream end below the outlet port. A drive advances the stretch and thereby displaces the pushers downstream past the outlet so that the pushers engage at least a lowermost object of the stack in the chute and move the engaged object(s) downstream along the support surface. The support surface can pivot about an axis at the support-surface downstream end and thereby change a vertical spacing between the support surface upstream end and the outlet port.

Separating conveyor for stacked objects

The instant invention is used to feed a stack of flattened cartons in which the cartons extend in respective parallel planes and where the stack has an end formed by a frontmost carton. A device for picking the cartons off the stack starting with the frontmost carton includes a grab displaceable along a path passing through a pickup point and operable when at the point to engage and grip the frontmost carton, and a system for displacing the path and thereby moving the location along a generally straight line for setting the picker for cartons of different height. The carton-supply system has a stationary support adjacent the grab path, a supply magazine having a plurality of guide elements extending parallel to a predetermined feed direction and holding the stack of cartons with their planes substantially perpendicular to the feed direction and with the plane of the frontmost carton defining a predetermined acute pickoff angle with the line of the grab, and an adjustment system supporting the magazine guide elements on the support for straight-line movement in an adjustment direction forming with the feed direction an angle equal to generally half of the pickoff angle and for arresting the magazine in any of a multiplicity of positions offset from each other in the adjustment direction.

Supply magazine for a carton-erecting system

An apparatus for the insertion of products of various sizes from a product conveyor into containers on a container conveyor has an insertion chain of carriages whose rams are controlled by endless cams along the carriage travel path. The hold-down tongues on hold-down rods are mounted on slides which are guided on posts of the carriages and controlled by a slide cam and a rod cam on a cam carrier which is split for size adjustment upon movement of a moveable carrier to vary the positions of these cams at the insertion region of the chains when products of different sizes are to be inserted in the boxes.

Apparatus for the simultaneous introduction of product and packaging

A conveyor has a pair of outer and a pair of inner endless conveyor elements having parallel conveying stretches extending in a transport direction, and respective rows of holders on the conveyor elements with the holders of the outer elements offset in the direction from the holders of the inner elements and the holder element of each inner and outer element aligned transversely with the respective holder of the other inner and outer element. A main shaft journaled at one end of the stretches defines a main axis and respective pairs of inner and outer sprockets on the main shaft guide the respective conveyor elements around the main shaft. One of the inner sprockets and one of the outer sprockets are axially fixed on the main shaft and the other inner sprocket and the other outer sprocket are displaceable axially along the main shaft. Only one of the pairs of sprockets is rotationally coupled to the main shaft. A secondary shaft is spaced from and parallel to the main shaft. A clutch is closable for coupling the secondary shaft to the main shaft for joint synchronous rotation and openable for relative rotation of the main and secondary shafts. Respective wheels on the main shaft are coupled to the sprockets of the other pair for joint rotation therewith and are both rotationally coupled to the secondary shaft. Respective wheels on the secondary shaft are aligned with and coupled to the respective main-shaft wheels.

Adjustable carton conveyor for packing machine

A system for erecting boxes has a magazine holding supply of flattened boxes having panels separated at respective fold lines, a support wheel generally continuously rotating about an axis adjacent the supply, a grab on the support wheel, an unfolder on the wheel adjacent the grab, and a conveyor adjacent the wheel. The grab and the unfolder are pivotal on the wheel about a grab axis parallel to the wheel axis and defining thereabout an orbit and the conveyor has upper and lower elements defining parallel and vertically spaced upper and lower conveyor planes, and front and rear elements displaceable parallel to the planes therebetween and defining respective conveyor calls. The upper plane is generally tangent to the orbit of the grab axis. A box is engaged with the grab and with the unfolder which are then relatively pivoted about the grab axis until the box is erected and an upper panel of the erected box engaged by the grab extends parallel to the upper conveyor plane but is spaced above the upper conveyor plane. Thereafter the grab and unfolder are synchronously pivoted about the grab axis while rotating the wheel to maintain the upper panel of the box parallel to the upper conveyor plane until the upper panel lies generally on the upper conveyor plane. The box is then released from the grab into a respective cell of the conveyor.
