A twin clutch transmission for a motor vehicle has two input shafts, two clutches, and driving shafts. The first input shaft can be actively connected to the first clutch, and the second input shaft can be actively connected to the second clutch. The first driving shaft is situated underneath the input shafts and the second driving shaft is situated above the input shafts, or vice versa. The input and driving shafts have intermeshing gear wheels, with fixed gears and loose wheels or idler gears. Each driving shaft has a gear wheel for transferring torque to the axle drive. A further shaft implements the reverse gear RG. A highly versatile and compact transmission is obtained by providing a third driving shaft that has a drive gear wheel for transferring torque to the axle drive, and the drive gear wheels of the driving shafts engage with an axle drive gear.

Twin-clutch transmission for a motor vehicle

In the embodiments described in the specification, a hydraulic control system for supplying pressure to a plurality of servo motors associated with shift elements of the several speeds of a transmission includes a slide valve having three positions arranged so that, in each position, two of the servo motors at a time are connectable alternatively with two separate pressure medium delivery lines. Valves are provided in the pressure medium delivery lines for alternate connection of the lines to a central pressure medium supply line.

Hydraulic control systems for transmissions

In the embodiment disclosed in the specification, a speed change arrangement for vehicles has a mechanical toothed gear with several gear pairs that can be shifted as desired, and having a simple planet gear engaged with at least one gear pair to offer at least one additional transmission stage, having an input element, an output element, and an additional element, connectable in a first shift position by means of an hydraulically operated multi-disc brake with the surrounding housing, and in a second shift position by means of an hydraulically operated multi-disc clutch with one of the other elements. To provide this arrangement is the smallest space and at minimum expense, a disc support is connected via a first toothing with a portion of the discs of the disc brake, and via a second toothing with a portion of the discs of the disc clutch, and which is connected with an operating piston, pressurizable on either side, for the selective engagement of the disc brake and the disc clutch.

Speed change arrangement

An angle gear for a vehicle steering mechanism includes two bevel gears which can be axially displaced in a housing in order to adjust the rotation backlash of the gear. The axes of the bevel gears form an angle relative to each other and are connected, respectively, to a shaft leading to the steering shaft and a shaft leading to the steering mechanism on the vehicle axle. Axial motion away from the intersection of the shaft axes, which would increase the backlash, is prevented by thrust bearings supported against the housing. Axial motion in the other direction is secured against by means of shackle with spherical cup bearing surfaces that bear against the end faces of the bevel gears, which shackle is adjustable to compensate for the manufacturing tolerances of the bevel gears.

Angle gear for vehicle steering mechanism

Apparatus for synchronously shifting the reverse gear of a speed-changing transmission, such as an automobile transmission, includes an axially displaceable reverse shift gear which is rotatably mounted on a stationary shaft and cooperates (meshes) with a first gear on a first transmission shaft and a second, wider gear on a second transmission shaft. The reverse shift gear has a synchronizing device, provided with synchronizing cones and locking components, which becomes operative to brake the reverse shift gear with respect to a stationary element when the shift gear is axially displaced.
