The invention relates to a medical device for transporting and positioning a therapeutic emitting element into a treatment channel to be temporarily placed in or at the body of the patient to treat tumours. The therapeutic emitting element is connected to a transport element and which is driven by at least one drive motor. The device has a connecting element comprising multiple connector openings. The connecting element is used for connecting a transport tube to a respective connector opening. The transport tube is connected to an applicator, needle, tube or catheter for driving the transport element into the treatment channel. The device has a selector mechanism through which the plurality of transport elements are driven. An annular guiding arrangement guides the transport elements into connector openings in the connecting element. The annular guiding arrangement also comprises a plurality of spaced outlets. The inlets of the multiple patterns are each connected to an outlet by guiding channels. Each outlet aligns to a connector opening in the connecting element to allow the transport element from each outlet to be driven into the connector openings.

In one embodiment, a verification system for confirming the position of a conduit inserted within a patient may include an elongate control element dimensioned for insertion within the conduit. The control element has a proximal end and a distal end, and a verification element coupled to a distal region. The verification element may be configured to detect the presence of a reference marker associated with the conduit and communicate a signal indicative of the position of the reference marker relative to the verification element. The control element may also be configured to maneuver the verification element along a length of the conduit. The system may also include a drive device coupled to a proximal region of the control element for controlling movement of the control element through the conduit, a controller associated with the verification element and configured to communicate with the verification element, and a signal conductor for conducting the signal between the verification element and the controller.

Brachytherapy position verification system and methods of use

A method of installing a movable roof assembly in the roof of a vehicle, wherein the vehicle having an open roof construction including a top section with a roof opening and a sliding roof mounted on the roof opening, the sliding roof including a center bar positioned substantially across a mid region of the roof opening for increasing safety of occupants in the vehicle, the center bar being fixedly attached to a rigid body of the vehicle. The center bar is preferably accessible from the interior of the vehicle and is adapted to house at least one vehicle accessory such as roller sun blinds, storage compartments and/or light fittings.
