A loading car for bulk material for incorporation in a freight train of a plurality of successively arranged like loading cars, includes a box open on top and mounted on a frame for storing bulk material. A bottom conveyor is disposed in a lower portion of the box and has opposite conveyor ends spaced from one another in the longitudinal direction. Positioned between the boxes of two successive cars, each loading car has a transfer conveyor arrangement which projects beyond the frame and is angularly adjustable with respect to the bottom conveyor, with the transfer conveyor arrangement including two separate transfer conveyors, with one of the two transfer conveyors cooperating with one of the conveyor ends and the other one of the two transfer conveyors cooperating with the other one of the conveyor ends so as to allow a reversal of the conveying direction for the bulk material.

A machine for aspirating ballast from a bed supporting a track comprises a machine frame and undercarriages supporting the machine frame on the track for mobility therealong. A vacuum generator and a ballast storage receptacle are mounted on the machine frame. A suction tube is connected to the vacuum generator, the suction tube terminating in a tubular end section having a longitudinal axis and defining a suction opening at one end thereof for aspirating the ballast, the tubular end section being rotatable about the longitudinal axis. A displacement mechanism attaches the suction tube to the machine frame for vertically and transversely displacing the tubular suction tube end section, the displacement mechanism comprising drives for vertically and transversely displacing the tubular suction tube end section, and a drive is provided for rotating the tubular suction tube end section in a direction of rotation.

Machine for sucking up rail ballast

A device for aligning and retaining two rails having abutting ends to be welded together comprises a rigid frame, abutments on the frame for the rail head tread and one of the rail head sides spaced from each in a longitudinal direction along the rails, the abutments for the rail head tread being adjustable relative to the frame for engaging the rail head tread, and retaining yokes for frictionally engaging the rails and clamping the device to the rails, the retaining yokes being associated with the frame and extending in a direction extending perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.

A track-bound work car includes a machine frame supported on undercarriages for mobility in an operating direction on a track and carrying a body structure with an operator's cab. A vertically adjustable main working platform is mounted to a jib which is secured to the machine frame, and a second working platform is detachably fixed via suitable fasteners to the body structure. Both working platforms are provided with complementary coupling elements to allow a detachable securement of the second working platform to the main working platform.

A ballast cleaning machine comprises a machine frame supported on undercarriages running on the track and carrying a ballast screening arrangement, a ballast excavating device including a revolvable excavating chain arranged to deliver excavated ballast to the screening arrangement for cleaning the excavated ballast, a conveyor arrangement disposed to receive the cleaned ballast from the screening arrangement and to discharge the cleaned ballast for support of the track, a laterally and vertically adjustable suction pipe having a suction opening at one end for receiving ballast, and a vacuum device connected to an opposite end of the suction pipe for applying sub-atmospheric pressure to the suction opening and thereby to suck up ballast through the suction pipe.

Ballast cleaning machine

An arrangement for installing a protective layer between a subgrade and a layer of ballast of a track bed includes an excavating unit to remove ballast from underneath the track and a subgrade stabilizing unit by which additives are disposed directly over the exposed subgrade and blended underneath the track with the subgrade for formation of a protective layer following a leveling and compacting process. Removed and cleaned ballast is then laid by a conveyor over the new protective layer.

A mobile machine for aspirating ballast from a ballast bed comprises a machine frame extending in a longitudinal direction and supported by undercarriages running on a track. Mounted on the machine frame are a ballast aspirating device comprising a short suction inlet pipe defining a suction inlet port, and a ballast excavating device vertically adjustable by drive means linking the ballast excavating device to the machine frame. The ballast excavating device comprises a substantially horizontally extending beam having opposite ends, a guide roller mounted on each beam end and an endless ballast excavating chain trained over the guide rollers, the beam being pivotal about a vertical axis at one of the beam ends and arranged in an operating position laterally adjacent one of the tie ends at one of the ballast bed shoulders and the suction inlet port being vertically adjustable in said operating position.

Machine for aspirating ballast from a ballast bed

A mobile machine for rehabilitating a ballast bed comprises an elongated machine frame supported by spaced apart undercarriages on the track for mobility in an operating direction. Mounted on the machine frame between the undercarriages are a vertically adjustable device for excavating ballast, a ballast discharge device arranged rearwardly of the ballast excavating device in the operating direction, the ballast discharge device having a discharge end, and a track lifting device and a vertically adjustable ballast tamping head arranged rearwardly of the discharge end of the ballast discharge device. The track lifting device comprises flanged rollers supporting the track lifting device on the track, and the ballast tamping head comprises reciprocable tamping tools for tamping the discharged ballast. The track lifting device and the ballast tamping head are mounted on a common carrier frame, and a longitudinal displacement drive displaces the common carrier frame in the longitudinal direction relative to the machine frame.

Machine for rehabilitating a ballast bed

A track is progressively renewed in an operating direction by continuously lifting the used track rails from the used ties, replacing the old ties by new ties and laying new rails on the new ties. Before the new rails are laid, adjoining ends thereof are continuously welded together behind the location where the ties are exchanged and the welded rails are exchanged for the used rails.

A track-bound freight car comprising a box for storing bulk material, the box having a bottom portion and comprising a longitudinally extending conveyor in the bottom portion of the box, a carrier frame bearing the conveyor, the conveyor and carrier frame having a width exceeding the width of the bottom portion of the box car, and two longitudinally extending side walls, at least a lower portion of the side walls adjacent the conveyor being pivotal about a longitudinally extending axis away from the conveyor, or a lower side wall portion being detachable.

A freight car for incorporation into a freight train of a series of successively arranged like freight cars comprises a carrier frame, a box for storing bulk material, the box having a bottom affixed to the carrier frame and an open top, two longitudinally extending bulk material conveyor arrangements arranged independent of each other, at least one of the conveyor arrangements extending partly along the bottom of the box, and each conveyor arrangement having opposite ends longitudinally spaced from each other and one of the conveyor arrangement ends being higher than the opposite conveyor arrangement end whereby the conveyor arrangement ends at facing ends of the successive freight cars overlap when the freight cars are coupled together.

A self-propelled machine for continuously laying an overhead line extending above a track and attached to pylons spaced alongside the track, which comprises machine frame movable along the track in an operating direction, a power-driven, vertically and laterally adjustable work platform mounted on the machine frame for an operator assigned to attaching the overhead line to the pylons, a storage drum mounted on the machine frame, a length of the catenary and/or the contact wire of the overhead line being reeled on the storage drum and the drum being rotatable at a pay-out speed for unreeling the catenary and/or the contact wire, and a drive control for adjusting the moving speed of the machine frame in response to the pay-out speed of the catenary and/or the contact wire. A lifting device is mounted on the machine frame and includes a power-driven, vertically adjustable and laterally pivotal boom, and a support and guide pulley carried by the boom and arranged to support and guide the unreeled catenary and/or contact wire from the storage drum to the operator on the work platform at a constant height determined by the vertical adjustmenmt of the boom and a lateral position determined by the pivoting of the boom, and a device is mounted on the machine frame between the storage drum and the pulley for continuously guiding and tensioning the catenary and/or contact wire, the guiding and tensioning device including a power-driven guide roller guiding the tensioned catenary and/or contact wire to the support and guide pulley, and a drive control for the guide roller.

Method for laying a catenary and/or a contact wire of an overhead line

A mobile ballast receiving and distributing machine comprises a machine frame supported on a railroad track by undercarriages for mobility in an operating direction, a ballast conveying device arranged on the machine frame to receive ballast and to convey the received ballast to a discharge end of the device, and a power-driven ballast storage silo arranged on the machine frame to receive the conveyed ballast from the discharge end of the ballast conveying device. The silo has a ballast discharge opening and a ballast conveyor band extending in the direction of the longitudinal extension of the machine frame and forming a bottom support for the ballast received from the ballast conveying device discharge end, the ballast conveyor band having an end discharging the ballast into the ballast discharge opening.

In combination with a mobile ballast cleaning machine advancing continuously in an operating direction along a railroad track, which comprises a ballast excavating chain including a transverse course extending under the track and driven to excavate a transversely extending portion of the ballast bed during the continuous advancement of the machine: a device connected to the machine for continuous advancement therewith and arranged to receive ballast deposited on the ballast bed and the track ties ahead of the transverse ballast excavating chain course and to discharge the received ballast in the transversely extending excavated ballast bed portion, the device comprising a ballast receiving and discharging element extending in the direction of the track, and a vertical adjustment drive arranged to lower the element onto the upper surfaces of the ties between the rails whereby the ballast deposited on the ballast bed and the track ties is separated from the underlying ballast bed and is received on the element during the continuous advancement of the machine and the element connected thereto, the ballast receiving and discharging element having a discharge end above the transverse ballast excavating chain course for discharging the received ballast in the excavated ballast bed portion immediately therebehind in the operating direction.
