A device for ascertaining the lateral strip contour and/or the position of the strip edges of a metal strip. It includes at least one sensing element for ascertaining suitable measurement data. The sensing element is integrated into a lateral guide together with a main part module of the metal strip conveying device. The lateral guide includes at least one wear element which is arranged in the lateral guide and which comprises a wear element adjusting device that can be rotated about a rotational axis substantially perpendicular to a guide plane of the lateral guide. The wear element together with the wear element adjusting device is designed as a sensing element. In an operating method, at least one sensing element is brought into contact with a lateral edge at a starting time, and suitable measurement data is ascertained using the sensing element while the metal strip runs past the sensing element.

A device for laterally guiding a metal strip () running over a loop lifter () between two roll stands () of a finishing train. The device includes at least one main member module () extending in a direction between the roll stands. The module has a guiding plane (), and also supports a number of wear members (), each with a wear surface (). Those wear members can be turned to a number of rotational positions. At least two wear members () are respectively arranged between one of the roll stands () and the loop lifter, wherein, seen in the direction of the loop lifter (), the surface area of the wear surface () of adjacent wear member bodies () increases. During the operation of the device, at least one of the wear members is rotated while the metal strip () is running to expose another area of the wear surface to the side of the strip.

Further, a method for lateral guidance of metal strips () moving on a metal belt conveying device includes, after a first metal strip has passed through the metal belt conveying device, and prior to a second metal strip entering the metal belt conveying device, the wear body () is rotated from a first to a second defined rotational position in a controlled manner, wherein in all defined rotational positions, the wear surface () is parallel to the guiding plane ().

Device and method for guiding metal strips having wear bodies

A driver roller () having a rolling body () and at least one axle shaft journal (). The at least one axle shaft journal () is fixed to the rolling body () indirectly via at least one support element (), which is fixed to the rolling body (), by means of removable connecting means. The at least one axle shaft journal () is arranged such that the longitudinal axis of the journal is coaxial to the longitudinal axis of the rolling body (), and the axle shaft journal is a separate component. The support element () has the shape of a ring or a disk with a groove () in an end wall of the ring- or disk-shaped support element (). The bearing region is open for the insertion or removal of the driving roller toward the side and/or upwardly when the rocker is placed in the operating position. The driver has a fixing mechanism for fixing the driving roller to the bearing region. The method for removing a driving roller from such a driver includes opening the fixing mechanism and removing the driving roller toward the side or upwardly from the driver.

In a reel furnace having a strip reeling device, the strip reeling device comprising a reel shaft, a reel drum supported on the reel shaft and at least one stirrup clamp, the reel shaft passing through a furnace wall delimiting the inner space of the reel furnace and being supported rotatably in supporting bearings outside the reel furnace, the reel drum and the at least one stirrup clamp being positioned with respect to one another by means of a connection element, and a gap for receiving a strip head being set between the reel drum and the at least one stirrup clamp. The useful life of the reel drum is appreciably increased and a strip thickness-dependent setting of the entry gap for the hot-rolled strip is ensured when the reel drum is designed as a closed body and the connection element is designed as an actuating device for fixing a specific gap width between the reel drum and the stirrup clamp and for clamping a strip head which has entered the gap.

The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for cropping the ends of or for separating test pieces from rolled strip wound into bundles. An apparatus is disclosed which, by means of an outwardly pivotable bottom roller () and guide devices () for guiding the strip end to the shears, also makes it possible to process strips which are thicker or of greater firmness and are wound into bundles (). Furthermore, a method is specified, which allows a reliable sampling and, if appropriate, inspection of the sample from strips wound into bundles, a closed bundle being obtained again after sampling.
