A dosing module for an aftertreatment system includes: a housing; a dosing cartridge removably inserted in the housing, the dosing cartridge including a needle assembly; a cover coupled to the housing, the cover covering the dosing cartridge; an inlet port inserted in the housing, the inlet port configured to receive reductant and provide the reductant to the dosing cartridge; and a filter screw coupled to the inlet port such that the filter screw is interchangeable, the filter screw including a pin, the filter screw being compressible to provide compensation for fluid expansion.

Dosing module for use in aftertreatment systems for internal combustion engines

An aftertreatment system includes an inlet exhaust section, an outlet exhaust section, a first aftertreatment component, a first dosing module, and a second dosing module. The inlet exhaust section receives exhaust. The outlet exhaust section is in fluid communication with the inlet exhaust section. The first aftertreatment component receives the exhaust from the inlet exhaust section, treats the exhaust, and provides the exhaust to the outlet exhaust section. The first dosing module is positioned along the inlet exhaust section. The first dosing module is structured to selectively dose the exhaust with reductant. The second dosing module is positioned along the outlet exhaust section. The second dosing module is structured to selectively dose the exhaust with the reductant.

A filtration assembly structured to filter reductant includes an outer housing and an inner housing. The inner housing is positioned within the outer housing. The inner housing is structured to contain the reductant and operable between a first state in which the inner housing has a first volume and a second state in which the inner housing has a second volume that is larger than the first volume, the inner housing including an end face. The inner housing is separated from the outer housing by a gap when the inner housing is in the first state. A volume of the gap decreases as the inner housing transitions from the first state to the second state and increases as the inner housing transitions from the second state to the first state.

Filtration assembly for use in aftertreatment systems for internal combustion engines

An aftertreatment system comprises a reductant storage tank and a SCR system including a catalyst for reducing constituents of an exhaust gas. A reductant insertion assembly is fluidly coupled to the reductant storage tank and the SCR system. A controller is communicatively coupled to the reductant insertion assembly. The controller is configured to: determine an initial pressure of the reductant, determine a first pressure at which the reductant is to be delivered to the selective catalytic reduction system and adjust an operating parameter of the reductant insertion assembly. The adjustment of the operating parameter results in an at least selective delivery of the reductant at the first pressure to the SCR system.

System and method for varying reductant delivery pressure to aftertreatment systems

An exhaust-gas aftertreatment device is provided, comprising a control unit for controlling a diaphragm pump that draws a urea/water solution out of a circuit and pumps it, via a pressure filter, to a metering unit comprising an atomizing nozzle for atomizing the urea/water solution into an exhaust-gas stream. The metering unit may also comprise a metering valve, including an atomizing nozzle, a pressure and temperature sensor, a heating means and a return baffle.

Exhaust-gas aftertreatment device

The invention relates to an SCR exhaust gas aftertreatment device, particularly for diesel motor internal combustion engines having a very large exhaust gas volume and/or divided exhaust gas trains. In order to be able to manufacture this SCR exhaust gas aftertreatment device in a cost-efficient manner, also for a high mixing degree of exhaust gas and AUS, it is proposed that a plurality of metering units (D, D, D) is provided, each of which has an atomizing nozzle, which nozzle-injects the aqueous urea solution into the exhaust gas train. In this case, the pressure existing in a common line for all metering units (D, D, D) can be determined by means of a pressure sensor.

SCR exhaust gas aftertreatment device

An exhaust gas aftertreatment system and method are provided. The system comprises a controller, a pump, and a volume quantity dispensing unit. The volume quantity dispensing unit comprises a pressure transducer comprising an electric pressure sensor, at least one fine atomizing nozzle for apportioning the aqueous solution directly into an exhaust gas flow, and at least one means for changing a pressure value. The means changes the pressure value in such a way that a pressure output signal from the pressure transducer to the controller is modified from an actual pressure value sensed by the pressure sensor. A first signal provided by the controller to the pump and a second signal provided by the controller to the volume quantity dispensing unit are adapted based on the output signal from the pressure transducer and a further signal indicative of an operating state of the internal combustion engine.

Exhaust gas aftertreatment system and method

An SCR exhaust gas aftertreatment device in which a urea-water solution is injected into an exhaust gas line is provided. At least one component of the device (e.g., a filter element) lies in an area of an internal space, and is bounded by an elastomer membrane that is embedded in a frost equalization foam. This prevents freezing damage even over a very long period of time and a large number of freezing cycles.

Calibrated dosing unit, especially of an exhaust gas treatment unit

The invention relates to an exhaust-gas aftertreatment device, comprising a control unit () for controlling a diaphragm pump () that draws a urea/water solution out of a circuit and pumps it, via a pressure filter (), to a metering unit comprising an atomizing nozzle for atomizing the urea/water solution into an exhaust-gas stream. In advantageous developments, the metering unit comprises a metering valve, including an atomizing nozzle, a pressure and temperature sensor, a heating means and a return baffle.

A compensation device for compensating a volumetric expansion of a medium during freezing has a receptacle provided in a structural component. The medium is contained in the receptacle. A pressure control valve for a high-pressure diesel pump of an injection device of a motor vehicle has a valve body and a piezo drive with a tappet securing the valve body in a closed position. The valve body in the closed position closes off a bore, containing a medium under pressure, relative to a pressure-relief bore. The piezo drive has at least one piezo element connected to the tappet. The piezo drive is mounted in a pump housing of the high-pressure diesel pump. A screw element receives the piezo drive and is used to screw the piezo drive into the mounting chamber of the pump housing.

Pressure control valve, especially for high pressure diesel pumps of injection devices of motor vehicles

A throttle valve for a high-pressure diesel pump of an injection device of a motor vehicle has at least one piston movable by a medium under pressure against a counter force and has at least one throttle location. A prestage valve in the form of a pressure control valve having a valve body is provided. The pressure control valve comprises a piezo drive. The piezo drive has at least one piezo element. A tappet is connected to the at least one piezo element. The tappet secures the valve body in a closing position. A bushing is provided in which the piston is slidably guided. Throttle valve especially for high-pressure diesel pumps of injection devices of motor vehicles

A proportional solenoid valve for a high-pressure diesel pump of a motor vehicle has a housing and a solenoid with an armature movable in the housing. A bushing is provided, and a piston is arranged in the bushing. The armature acts on the piston for moving the piston in the bushing as a function of a current supply to the solenoid. At least one component is positioned between the bushing and the housing and is deformable in an axial direction of the piston so as to allow an exact adjustment of the position of the piston relative to the bushing.
