The invention concerns a textile machine operating on fiber band with a feeding device for the fiber band and a guide element for the fiber band and further provided with a band monitor for the discovery of band breakage. The band monitor (BW, BW1, BW2, BW3) is placed always in the area of the guide element, in particular one band guide (BF) and another band guide element (FE, FE1, FE2, FE3) in the area of the band monitor (BW, BW1, BW2, BW3). The running time behavior of the fiber band (FB) is directly improved by the guide element (FE, FE1, FE2, FE3), that is, the vibrations of the fiber band (FB) are damped. This will avoid a situation wherein false alarm signals are given because of an originally vibrating fiber band at the band monitor.

A compression bar for use in the main drafting zone of drafting rollers of the textile industry. The invention considerably reduces deposits on a compression bar. The fixed compression bar has a rectangular cross-section, with its narrow faces being rounded off. On the other hand, the compression bar is rotatably mounted about its longitudinal axis, whereby the compression bar has preferably a circular cross-section.

The invention improves the reliability of detection of sliver breakage of presented textile fiber slivers at very high sliver intake speeds of a draw frame. It is a characteristic of the invention that the monitoring device is provided with a deflection device for the fiber slivers which ensures that any broken fiber slivers are detected by the monitoring device.

A fleece hopper of a textile draw frame is located between a pair of draw-off rollers and a fiber sliver pipe. Fiber fleece is gathered together in the hopper and deflected into the hopper outlet. The hopper outlet includes a pipe-shaped insert removably fitted therein. The insert can be removed and replaced without disturbing or adjusting the hopper itself.

The invention relates to a device for the processing of a plurality of fiber slivers, in particular a drawing frame with drawing-in cylinders for joint feeding of the fiber slivers to the device. A funnel with a passage opening is provided in the device to unite the fiber slivers into a fiber sliver amalgam as the fiber slivers go through the funnel (1). The cross-sectional area of the passage opening of the funnel is adjustable.

A rotary plate is provided for fiber sliver depositing devices, in particular for draw frames and carding machines. The plate includes a spatially curved sliver channel made of a pipe element with two arcs of circles verging directly into each other. The sliver channel of the rotary plate is preferably made of special friction reducing steel. The plate may also include a cover attached to the bottom thereof also formed of the friction reducing material.

The invention relates to a device to condense and guide a fiber sliver, in particular in a spinning plant preparation machine having a sliver funnel. The funnel is followed by draw-off rollers which are surrounded on both sides by guide surfaces. The lateral distances between the guide surfaces and the draw-off rollers can be adjusted independently of each other. A process is also provided according to which the distance between the guide surfaces is selected to be greater for puffed fiber material than for non-puffed fiber material. Furthermore, the distance between the guide surfaces is selected to be greater with synthetic fiber material than with natural fibers.

A device used to feed fiber slivers to a processing machine with at least one sliver guide. The sliver guide is provided with a guiding surface over which the fiber sliver is guided. The guiding surface also serves as a sliver monitoring device. The sliver guide is produced in a process in which the housing of the sliver guide, standing on its head, together with its guiding surface, is clamped over a die. A sensor is inserted into the housing from the side opposite the guiding surface and is embedded therein in a casting compound.

For paraffining yarn or thread with paraffin wax, a thread guide rail (3, 4) is provided before and after a rotationally mounted paraffin body (2) in the direction of travel of the thread. The paraffin body (2) is displaceable in the direction of the plane defined by thread guide rails (3, 4) and its end position can be located by a stop which bears against the end of the paraffin body (2). The stop (5) is carried by one of the thread guide rails (3, 4) which is pivotable transversely to the travel of the thread from a working position in which it can be locked by a holding device (7). In the working position the paraffin body (2) bears against the stop (5). In order to change the paraffin body, the guide rail carrying the stop (5) is pivoted so that the traveling thread is moved out of the path of the paraffin body, thereby allowing the body to be removed without interfering with the travel of the thread.
