A monohydrate of a steroid having the structure ##STR1## and the 1,2-dehydro derivatives thereof, is provided which monohydrate is in the form of a particulate material having a stable average particle size of less than about 20 microns. Cream and lotion formulations containing the steroid monohydrate and a method for forming the monohydrate are also provided.

A new neutral fumarate salt of a derivative of the antibiotic pleuromutilin has been found whose physical properties made bulk manufacture more reproducible, simplify formulation and provide advantages in the administration of the substance.

Derivatives of pleuromutilin and compositions

Dry solid antibiotic compositions are provided comprising a solid acidic, basic or amphoteric antibiotic and a suitable solid basic or acidic additive, for reconstitution as injectables upon addition of water. A method is also provided for formulating injectable antibiotics.
