A system and method provide for image-guided implant placement as a function of at least one intraoperative image during a surgical procedure. At least one computing device is configured by executing code stored in non-transitory processor readable media to process at least one preoperative image to assess axial rotation and/or sagittal pelvic inclination. Further, as a function of a plurality of identified anatomical landmarks in the at least one preoperative image, at least one of distances, angles, and areas is measured. Thereafter, as a function of calculations associated with the at least one of distances, angles, and areas, axial rotation associated with at least one image is measured. Thereafter, at least one value associated with placement of an implant during the surgical procedure is adjusted and information associated therewith is provided via a graphical user interface.

Adjustment system and method for patient position intraoperatively using radiographic measurements

A fluoroscopy-based system/method for correcting at least an inclination angle of an acetabular cup during total hip arthroplasty. A computing device processes an image of the surgical area to determine distortion, at least as a function of the reference object in the image. Thereafter, the computing device generates a correction factor and measures an inclination angle of an initially positioned acetabular cub in an anterior posterior image of a patient's pelvis, and corrects, as a function of the correction factor, the measured inclination angle to provide an accurate inclination angle of the acetabular cup.

Direct anterior approach (DAA) with the patient lying supine has facilitated the use of intraoperative fluoroscopy and allows for standardized positioning of the patient. The method disclosed herein uses intraoperative fluoroscopy to measure acetabular component anteversion and more particularly, a method for measuring/calculating intraoperative cup (acetabular component) anteversion is provided based on the measured acetabular component abduction angle and a c-arm tilt angle (CaT).
