The measuring device for contactless determination of a rotation angle includes a rotatable permanent magnet (,) arranged in a stator (,) made of magnetically conductive material and including two stator segments (,) and a surrounding cup-shaped housing part (,). One stator segment (,) is mounted directly on the bottom (,) of the housing part (,) so that a magnetically conductive connection exists. A layer (,) of magnetically nonconductive material is present between the other stator segment (,) and the bottom (,) so that no magnetic flux is possible there. The rotatable permanent magnet (,) is arranged so that it is movable in an air gap between the two stator segments (,) and the housing part (,) with the direction of magnetic polarization oriented radially, i.e. toward the stator segments (,) or in the opposite direction. The measuring element (,) is arranged in the slot (,) between the two stator segments (,). Because of this structural design, it is possible to divide the magnetic flux so that a shift in the linear measurement range is possible so that no sign change occurs within the linear measurement range.
