The invention relates to a process for producing an enamel baked molded component made from a double-layer plate comprising two cover plates with an intermediate epoxy resin layer that is glued to the cover plates. The process comprises introducing the epoxy resin between the cover plates prior to its polymerization to maintain an adhesive connection between the cover plates and the intermediate layer, while at the same time allowing for deformation of the double-layer plate by deep-drawing in particular without subjecting the cover plates to excessive stress. The epoxy resin that is used polymerized exclusively at the enamel baking temperatures, being coherent but not polymerized when the double-layer plate is deformed, while the enamel layer is baked only after the deformed component is lacquered, whereby said baking occurs at a temperature at which polymerization of the epoxy resin of the intermediate layer also occurs.

The invention relates to a process for the production of tailored blanks by the hot rolling of a strip and to an apparatus for the performance of said process. The light structural steel plate comprises a mould-pressed steel hump plate (1) and a flat aluminium plate (3) connected thereto substance-to-substance at a the hump end faces. A method for increasing the resistance to thermal shocks of the oxide layer of metallic heat conductive materials which contain 3% to 10% aluminum, 10% to 26% chromium, up to 3% zirconium and/or titanium and/or hafnium and/or niobium and/or silicon and/or 0.002% to 0.3% total of rare earths and/or yttrium in metallic form or as finely dispersed oxides, the remainder being iron and/or nickel and/or cobalt as well as the trace elements normally present in steels. The materials develop primarily aluminum oxide and/or chromium oxide on the surface when heated in a temperature range of 700.degree. C. to 1350.degree. C. in an oxygen-containing atmosphere. The materials are first heated in an oxygen-free atmosphere under conditions which cause recrystallization in their surface zone. They then are oxidized in an atmosphere which contains oxygen in chemically bound form.

Improved small dendrite arm spacings and good technical values, regarding the technical properties of aluminum alloys, particularly tensile strength, yield strength and elongation percent, can be reliably obtained by refining the grain of the casting to provide the smallest possible spacings between the secondary dendrite arms, by casting the aluminum alloys in a ceramic mold provided with numerous micro-sized rough spots and pores and to the inner wall of which mold after it is dried and fired has been applied a thin layer of a salt mixture in which the cations are primarily from the alkalis and/or alkaline earths and the anions are primarily from halogens and which applied salt mixture has a liquidus temperature lower than the casting temperature of the alloy.

For separation of hydrogen and its isotopes by diffusion through a membrane irtually impermeable to other gases, a non-porous hydrogen-permeable metallic membrane is provided on the gas access side with a coating of an alloy of palladium with at least 45 atomic % Cu or at least 50 atomic percent Ag or at least 7 atomic % Y, the membrane itself containing Cu, Ag or Y respectively in a concentration at least equilibrated with the coating at operation temperature. Preferably the membrane consists of a metal of niobium and/or tantalum bases especially of an alloy containing from 10 to 30 % Ti, 3 to 10 % V, 0 to 25 % Nb and at least 30 % Ta, all by weight, and preferably it is of a composition of 20 to 25 % Ti, 5 to 7,5 % V, 0 to 25 Nb, and at least 50 % Ta, being saturated with copper and or silver, while a copper and/or silver palladium alloy coating is used. Such inherently oxidation sensitive membranes can be stabilized by provision of an internal intermediate layer in the form of a melt forming or containing an alkaline metal hydride and/or an alkaline earth metal hydride. A melt containing alkaline metal and/or alkaline earth metal which forms a hydride, brought into contact on the secondary side of a membrane in accordance with the invention, provides a hydrogen sink on the secondary side and inhibits internal hydride formation and secondary side oxidation of the membrane.
