The present invention relates to a method of hot dip coating of flat steel products, comprising a step of stripping the coated steel strip by means of at least one nozzle that emits a stripping gas having a temperature Tat an angle &#x3b1; in the direction of the coated steel strip, wherein the angle &#x3b1;, the distance h between the surface of the melt bath and the lower edge of the nozzle in mm, the temperature of the stripping gas in &#xb0; C. and the differential between the temperature Tof the melt bath and the temperature Tof the steel strip are in a particular relationship to one another, and to a correspondingly produced hot dip-coated flat steel product.

Hot dip coated steel strip having an improved surface appearance and method for production thereof

A flat steel product which, following a 5% biaxial deformation, exhibits, on one surface, a Wsa(1-5) value of &#x3c;0.35 &#x3bc;m, a planar anisotropy &#x394;r of &#x2212;0.5 to +0.5 and, from the surface to a depth of &#x3c;200 &#x3bc;m, and a nanohardness of &#x3e;0.1 to &#x3c;3.0 GPa. Also, a method of making the product where a slab including (in wt. %) 0.0003-0.050% C, 0.0001-0.20% Si, 0.01-1.5% Mn, 0.001-0.10% P, 0.0005-0.030% S, 0.001-0.12% AI, and 0.0001-0.01% N, the remainder Fe and impurities is heated to 1200-1270&#xb0; C., rough-rolled with a reduction of 80-90%, and finish-hot-rolled at 850-950&#xb0; C. with a reduction of 85-95%, for a total deformation of 95-99.5%. The reduction in the last hot roll pass is 1-25%, and the product is cooled at 4-30 K/s to a coiling temperature of 620-780&#xb0; C. Following pickling, the product is cold-rolled with a total degree of deformation of 70-90% and recrystallization annealed at 650-900&#xb0; C.

Method for manufacturing flat steel products and flat steel product

A flat product made of a metal material has been provided with deterministic surface texture which has a plurality of depressions which have a depth in the range of from 2 to 14 &#x3bc;m, wherein the depressions are designed to be I-shaped, H-shaped, cross-shaped, C-shaped or X-shaped, and wherein the surface texture has a peak count RPc in the range of from 45 to 180 1/cm, an arithmetic mean roughness Ra in the range of from 0.3 to 3.6 &#x3bc;m, and an arithmetic mean waviness Wsa in the range of from 0.05 to 0.65 &#x3bc;m. A roll which is particularly suitable for producing such a flat product has a deterministic surface texture which has a plurality of overlapping dimples, which are arranged such that they delimit a double-I-shaped, H-shaped, cross-shaped, C-shaped or X-shaped material texture in the roll surface, and wherein the surface texture of the roll, measured in the direction of the roll axis, is characterized by a peak count RPc in the range of from 80 to 180 1/cm, an arithmetic mean roughness Ra in the range of from 2.5 to 3.5 &#x3bc;m and an arithmetic mean waviness Wsa in the range of from 0.08 to 1.0 &#x3bc;m.

Flat product made of a metal material and roll and method for producing such flat products

A metallic flat product is disclosed which is subjected to surface finishing by hot-dip coating and which is preferably composed of steel. The metallic flat product includes a metallic alloy layer () and a metallic surface layer ('), which metallic alloy layer and metallic surface layer differ from one another in terms of their chemical composition. The two layers (&#x2032;) are produced in a one process step and define a continuous transition region () in which a mixture of the two different chemical compositions is present. The metallic alloy layer () has a thickness of less than 8 &#x3bc;m, preferably less than 6 &#x3bc;m, and the surface layer (&#x2032;) is formed from aluminum or zinc. The flat product has an improved coating, by means of which the flat product more effectively satisfies the requirements with regard to good deformability and has good anti-corrosion protection.

The invention relates to an apparatus for the continuous hot-dip coating of metal strip, preferably steel strip, comprising a melting bath vessel, a snout, which opens in the melting bath vessel, for introducing a metal strip, which is heated in a continuous furnace, into the melting bath in protective gas, and a deflecting roller, which is arranged in the melting bath vessel, for deflecting the metal strip, which is entering the melting bath, in a direction pointing out of the melting bath, wherein that end of the snout which is dipped into the melting bath has at least one runoff chamber which is bounded inward by an overflow wall, downward by a floor and outward by the wall of the snout, wherein the overflow edge of the overflow wall lies at least in sections below the melting bath surface, and wherein a suction line with a pump is connected to the runoff chamber, characterized in that the runoff chamber is provided with at least one through opening through which liquid molten metal can flow out of the melting bath into the runoff chamber, wherein the at least one through opening is arranged lower than the overflow edge.

Apparatus for the continuous hot-dip coating of metal strip

A method for the hot-dip coating of metal strip, in particular steel strip, in a metallic melting bath () is disclosed. In the method, the metal strip () to be coated is heated in a continuous furnace () and is introduced into the melting bath () through a snout () which is connected to the continuous furnace and which is immersed into the melting bath. To be able to satisfy the requirements placed on the coated strip () with regard to good deformability of the strip, as far as possible without cracking and peeling, and with regard to high anti-corrosion protection in a more effective and reliable manner, the disclosure proposes that, in the region delimited by the snout (), a melt is used which is intentionally implemented differently, in terms of its chemical composition, than the chemical composition of the melt used in the melting bath ().

Method for the hot-dip coating of metal strip, in particular steel strip

An apparatus for hot dip coating metal strip is disclosed having a dip bath vessel (), a snout () which opens into the dip bath vessel for introducing a metal strip () which is heated in a continuous furnace into the dip bath, and a deflecting roller () which is arranged in the dip bath vessel for deflecting the metal strip () which enters into the dip bath in a direction which points out of the dip bath. The snout () is provided with a shaft-shaped snout extension piece () for increasing the snout dipping depth, the internal width of the snout extension piece () tapering toward its outlet opening () at least over a part length of said snout extension piece (). As a result, an increase or maximization of the eddy flow in the molten metal at or close to the metal strip () and therefore improved homogenization of the molten metal in the region of the strip is achieved, as a result of which slag-induced surface defects on the surface of the coated metal strip () can be avoided.

A process for producing a component from a steel product coated with a protective Al&#x2014;Si coating, and an intermediate product that arises during the course of such a process and that can be used to produce components of the type concerned here. The steel product coated with the Al&#x2014;Si coating, undergoes a first heating stage in which the temperature and the duration of the heat treatment are set such that the Al&#x2014;Si coating is only partially pre-alloyed with Fe from the steel product. Then, the steel product, in a second heating stage, is heated to a heating temperature, above the Ac1 temperature, at which the steel product has an at least partially austenitic structure, wherein the temperature and the duration of the second heating stage are set such that the Al&#x2014;Si coating is fully alloyed with Fe from the steel product. After the steel product is heated to the heating temperature, it is shaped to form the component and the component obtained is cooled in a controlled manner, in order to obtain a martensitic structure.
