The invention relates to an electromechanical, self-boosting friction brake, in particular a disk brake. The friction brake is embodied with a wedge element for exerting contact pressure on a friction brake lining; a wedge angle (&#x3b1;) is selected such that a brake parameter C* is located at or near a pole point. As a result, a high self-boosting that tends toward infinity and consequently a low actuating force are attained. To avoid blocking of the friction brake, an actuating device is embodied to block an independent motion of the wedge element, or has a regulating device for regulating a contact pressure of the friction brake lining against a brake body (brake disk).

Self-boosting friction brake, device for measuring the coefficient of friction, and method for regulating a braking force

An electromechanically actuatable self-boosting disk brake in which a friction brake lining is guided displaceably with a guide whose angle to the brake disk is adjustable via an electric motor to attain brake reinforcement. The angle of the guide is adjusted independently of an actuating device with which the friction brake lining is pressed against the brake disk.

Disk brake

The invention relates to a friction brake () for a motor vehicle. The friction brake () for instance has a disk brake (), which is actuatable by means of an actuating device, for instance in the form of a ball thread drive (). The invention proposes embodying the friction brake () with a band brake (), whose band () is mounted on the circumference of a nut () of the ball thread drive (). If the brake band () is put under tensile stress in order to actuate the band brake (), then the brake band () rotates the nut () of the ball thread drive () in a tensing direction and in this way actuates the disk brake (). The invention has the advantage that the friction brake () has high brake boosting and therefore requires only little actuating energy. It is accordingly suitable for embodiment as an electromechanical friction brake () with an electric motor () for its actuation.

Disc brake that is actuated by means of a band brake device

The invention relates to an electromechanical disk brake (). To attain brake boosting, the invention proposes embodying the disk brake () with a multiple brake cylinder (), which is displaceable in a secant direction of a brake disk (), and which has both a friction brake lining piston (), which is displaceable transversely to the brake disk (), and two brake booster pistons (), disposed facing one another, which are displaceable parallel to the brake disk (), and which are braced on fixed abutments (), for instance on an inside of a brake caliper () of the disk brake (). For actuation of the disk brake (), the multiple brake cylinder () is displaced in the direction of rotation () of the brake disk (), and as a result, the brake booster piston () that is at the front in the displacement direction moves into the brake cylinder () and, via the friction brake lining piston (), presses the friction brake lining () against the brake disk (). A force of friction exerted on the friction brake lining () by the rotating brake disk () presses the multiple brake cylinder () in its displacement direction as well and as a result boosts a pressure exerted on the friction brake lining piston () by the brake booster piston (), thus in turn increasing the braking force.

Disc brake

A wheel brake device, which in particular is actuatable electromechanically, for a motor vehicle, includes a pivotable lever, one end of which is engaged by an energy-storing spring element and which with its other end presses against a wheel brake lining. The lever is pivotably supported by a support means that is displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the lever. By displacement of the support means in the longitudinal direction of the lever, a lever arm with which the energy-storing spring element engages the lever lengthens, and a lever arm with which the lever presses against the wheel brake lining shortens. A pressure force with which the energy-storing spring element, via the lever, presses the wheel brake lining against a brake disk can be adjusted by displacement of the support means.

Wheel brake device

A method is for determining the offset value of the output signal of a vehicle sensor. The values of the output signal of the vehicle sensor are determined. The value range of the output signal of the vehicle sensor is divided into at least two partial ranges (intervals, classes). The values of the output signal are allocated to the partial ranges. The number of number quantities representing the values of the output signal allocated to the partial ranges is determined. The number quantities are determined by at least one low-pass filter.

Method and device for determining offset values by a histogram method

A device and a method determine an offset value which represents the offset of the output signal of a vehicle sensor, the sensor detecting at least one motion of a vehicle, and the output signal is analyzed at at least two different points in time. An additional signal is determined independently of the output signal, this signal also representing the motion of the vehicle. An arrangement is provided for analyzing the characteristic of the output signal, which depends on the longitudinal velocity of the vehicle, and the characteristic of the additional signal, which also depends on the longitudinal velocity of the vehicle, in order to determine the offset value.

Method and device for determining offset values by a regression method

A device is for determining a corrected offset value which represents the offset of the output signal of a first vehicle sensor, the sensor determining at least one motion of a vehicle. In this device, a first arrangement is provided by which at least two offset values representing the offset of the sensor are determined by at least two different methods. In addition, for at least one of the offset values of the sensor thus determined, an error band is determined in addition to the offset value. The corrected offset value is determined as a function of the offset values determined and at least one of the error bands.

Method and device for determining a corrected offset value

The invention relates to a drum brake device ( ), which is provided as a wheel brake for a motor vehicle. The invention proposes embodying the drum brake device ( ) with a brake belt ( ), which is disposed inside a brake drum ( ) and can flex in the radial direction of the brake drum ( ). Thrust exerted on one end ( ) of the brake belt ( ) with a simultaneous bracing of the other end ( ) of the brake belt ( ) causes the brake belt ( ) to be pressed against the brake drum ( ) from the inside and produces a braking moment. The invention has the advantage that a friction force exerted on the brake belt ( ) by the brake drum ( ) augments the thrust on the end ( ) of the brake belt ( ) and thus boosts the braking moment. Another advantage is that the brake belt ( ) always rests uniformly against the brake drum ( ) over its entire circumference, even, for example, when the brake drum ( ) expands due to heating.

Drum brake system

An electromechanical wheel brake device for a motor vehicle, having an electric motor for driving two planetary gears, connected in series with one another, which actuate the wheel brake device via a threaded roller gear. The planetary gear is provided with a first electromagnetic coupling, with which a sun wheel of the second planetary gear can be locked, or can be connected in a manner fixed against relative rotation to a sun wheel of the first planetary gear, and with a second electromagnetic coupling, with which a ring gear of the second planetary gear can be stopped or can be connected in a manner fixed against relative rotation to a ring gear of the first planetary gear. By means of the electric motor, by switching of the two couplings, the rolling thread drive can be driven fast to overcome an air gap, slowly and with major speed reduction for the ensuing exertion of a high braking force, and fast for releasing without a reversal of the direction of rotation of the electric motor. For use as a parking brake, both couplings are switched to be without current, as a result of which the second planetary gear is blocked and an imposed braking force is maintained while the electric motor is stopped.

Electromagnetic wheel brake device

The invention relates to a braking apparatus having an electric service motor, which serves to actuate a brake via an actuating device. To enable adjusting an air clearance, the invention sets forth a helical gear and a load moment block, which blocks the helical gear against adjusting itself independently and allows adjustment by means of a readjusting motor. To adjust or establish the air clearance, the brake is actuated with the readjusting motor, until a brake lining contacts a brake body, such as a brake disk, and then moves backward by a defined distance. If the service motor and/or the actuating device fails, the braking apparatus can be released with the readjusting motor. In order to achieve a parking brake function, the invention sets forth a second load moment block for the actuating device.

A disk brake having an electromagnetic friction clutch that can be brought into controllable frictional engagement with a brake disk. The friction clutch can act on a device for generating hydraulic pressure independent of the direction of rotation, and this pressure can act upon a clamping device for operating friction linings. To press the friction linings against the brake disk, energy is taken from the rotating vehicle wheel by means of the friction clutch and metered to the clamping device with pressure fluid as the energy carrier. The friction brake can be used in passenger cars, for example.

The invention is directed to an control system for a motor vehicle and includes: a plurality of control elements coacting for carrying out control tasks with reference to engine power, drive power and braking operation, respectively, and a plurality of coordinating elements for coordinating the coaction of the first elements to effect a control of operating performance of the motor vehicle in correspondence to a request of the driver.
