A circuit arrangement for selectively supplying power from a power supply to a load includes a semiconductor switch, such as an n-channel FET, along with a gate control and a charge pump. The circuit additionally includes a diode located in a ground path between a ground connection of the charge pump and a circuit ground, and a capacitor connected between the power supply and the diode. The added diode and capacitor allow the charge pump to maintain the FET in an ON state during a momentary voltage drop of the supply voltage. This circuit is preferably used with a high side switch integrated circuit.

A current source and an associated method for supplying current to a load such as an arrangement of LEDs. The intensity of the supplied current varies as a function of the temperature of the load. The intensity of the current is temperature-dependent and limited to a predefined maximum. The temperature dependence is achieved by the component parts that are used without the help of special temperature sensors. The current source is supplied with a reference voltage derived from an integrated circuit. The reference voltage is tapped from a port of the IC and therefore it is switchable. The reference voltage is used to produce a control current, which is fed through a driver stage to produce the current of the current source. Elements in the current source limit the current's intensity and change it as a function of temperature.

Process and circuitry for controlling a load

A hand-held power tool has a drive motor driving a tool and a generator. One or more heating devices having one or more heating elements are provided. The generator supplies the one or more heating devices with energy. A control device controls a power supplied to the one or more heating elements as a function of at least one operating parameter of the drive motor.
