In a valve control unit for a ram jet propulsion system having a power unit space a valve for controlling a fuel quantity required to the propulsion system, and a valve adjusting unit which is constructed to be operable by means of an electronic control unit, the valve is combined with its valve adjusting unit and its electronic control unit to form a thermally insulated valve assembly. The valve assembly is configured for the arrangement in the power unit space.

A guided missile is directed toward a ground level or sea level target despite the presence of laterally and vertically offset decoys by causing the missile first to 'acquire' one of the target or decoys. The guidance system then directs the missile in the azimuth plane toward the acquired target while it directs the missile along a predetermined path that ends in a low level horizontal flight. A simulator simulates a flight path toward the acquired target in the elevational plane. When the simulated flight path toward the acquired target deviates from the predetermined elevational path by a preset amount, a logic system causes the missile to unlock from the target and acquire a new one. Thus the missile will ultimately only lock onto the sea level or ground level target.

Method and device for recognizing decoys serving to disguise a target

In scanning an image field, for example an image field radiating infrared diation sensed by an infrared sensor, at least one, preferably two, electronically controlled scanners are used. The respective scanning directions extend perpendicularly relative to each other. Changes in these scanning directions are determined with the aid of a reference signal generator providing horizontal and vertical deviation signals with reference to a central or mean view direction. The central or mean view direction of at least one of the scanners, preferably of both scanners is then varied or corrected in a closed loop feedback circuit in response to the deviation signals so that the central or mean view direction is restored and maintained. Preferably, any horizontal or azimuth scanning deviation from the central or mean viewing direction is corrected by shifting the respective image points stored in a memory in a correction direction in response to the respective horizontal or azimuth deviation signal. The vertical or elevational scanning direction is corrected by correcting the drive signal for the vertical scanner in response to a respective vertical or elevational deviation signal.
