A capsule for preparing a nutritional product in a device adapted to supply liquid into the capsule is disclosed. The capsule includes at least one compartment for providing nutritional ingredients for the preparation of the nutritional product in combination with the supplied liquid, and the compartment includes a liquid impermeable membrane forming a release side of the compartment. The capsule further includes at least one relief element. Also disclosed is a membrane for use in the manufacture of said capsule. Also disclosed are methods of producing and using the membrane and capsule.

Capsule having a membrane and method for preparing a nutritional product

An adapting device for adapting a capsule into the capsule holder of a food machine when the capsule or pod is smaller than capsules or pods originally designed for insertion into the capsule holder is provided. The machine includes a fluid injection element for circulating a fluid through the capsule to a discharge opening, the capsule including a body enclosing a food ingredient to be dissolved and/or extracted so as to produce a food product, and further including circumferential edges. The device includes a holding portion for holding at least a portion of the capsule, and a sealer for circumferentially adapting to the capsule holder and/or to the fluid injection element, and/or to the capsule outside surface, in a leak-tight manner so that the fluid flow is directed solely from the fluid injection element through the capsule, to a discharge opening.

Device for adapting a food capsule into a capsule holder

A capsule for the preparation of a nutritional product in a device adapted to supply liquid into the capsule. The capsule includes at least one compartment containing nutritional ingredients for the preparation of the nutritional product in combination with the supplied liquid, and a filter adapted for removing contaminants contained in the liquid. The capsule also has a selectively openable gas inlet which is placed on or in the capsule to allow gas introduction from outside the capsule into the compartment without passing through the filter.

Capsule and filter unit for the preparation of a nutritional product in a device adapted to supply liquid in the capsule. The invention relates to a capsule containing ingredients for producing a beverage, wherein the ingredients are housed in a compartment and an internal perforation mechanism is provided for opening the lower face of the compartment by using pressure inside the compartment to cause the lower face to act against the perforation member to allow the beverage to exit the capsule through a beverage outlet. The capsule is provided with a valve arranged for selectively blocking the flow path of the beverage to the beverage outlet of the capsule to prevent dripping of the beverage from the compartment after dispensing.

A capsule for use in a beverage production device, the capsule containing ingredients to produce a nutritional or food liquid when a liquid is fed into the capsule at an inlet face thereof, with the capsule being provided with a filter having a plurality of filtering orifices and a flow collection member placed downstream of the filter to collect the filtered liquid from the filtering orifices. The collection member includes at least one restriction orifice to focus the flow of liquid in at least one jet of liquid at high velocity in the compartment containing the ingredients. The invention is particularly advantageous for producing a nutritional liquid (e.g., infant formula) or a food from powdered ingredients.
