The invention provides a semiconductive polymer composition comprising (a) a base polymer of ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, (b) at least 25 wt % carbon black; and (c) at least 1 wt % of an ethylene vinyl acetate wax.

Semiconductive polymer composition

The invention provides a novel semiconductive polymer composition with improved smoothness and dispersibility of carbon black when compounding the polymer composition and feasible balance with other properties such as volume resistivity. The semiconductive polymer composition comprises (a) from 30 to 90 wt % of a polymer component, (b) from 10 to 70 wt % of carbon black and the carbon black (b) has a mass pellet strength (MPS) according to ASTM D1937-13 of from 50 to 250 N. The invention further relates to a process for preparing the semiconductive polymer composition comprising the steps of: i) introducing 30-90 wt % of a polymer component as defined above and 0-8 wt % additives in a mixer device and mixing the polymer component and additives at elevated temperature such that a polymer melt is obtained; ii) adding 10-70 wt % of a carbon black as defined above to the polymer melt and further mixing of the polymer melt.

Semiconductive polymer composition for electric power cables

The invention relates to a semiconductive polymer composition comprising a polymer component, a conducting component and a crosslinking agent, wherein the polymer component comprises a polar polyethylene and the crosslinking agent comprises an aliphatic mono- or bifunctional peroxide or, alternatively, a monofunctional peroxide containing an aromatic group, and the crosslinking agent is present in an amount which is Z wt %, based on the total amount (100 wt %) of the polymer composition, and Z≤Z≤Z, wherein Zis 0.01 and Zis 5.0, an article being e.g. a cable, e.g. a power cable, and processes for producing a semiconductive polymer composition and an article; useful in different end applications, such as wire and cable (W&C) applications.

The present invention relates to a flame retardant polypropylene composition for a conduit, appliance, and/or automotive wire, comprising a flame retardant composition comprising: a) a base resin comprising a heterophasic propylene copolymer which comprises a polypropylene homo- or copolymer matrix and an ethylene propylene rubber dispersed in said matrix, and b) a metal hydroxide or hydrated compound, wherein the heterophasic propylene copolymer has a MFRbelow 0.8 g/10 min and a xylene cold soluble (XCS) fraction content between 1 and 15 wt % based on the total weight of the heterophasic propylene copolymer.
