A method of a communication device arranged to operate in a cellular communication system is presented. The method comprises determining interference mitigation capabilities for control symbols, transmitting information about the determined interference mitigation capabilities to a network node of the cellular communication system. Also a method of a network node arranged to operate in a cellular communication system. The method comprises receiving from a communication device operating in the cellular communication system information about determined interference mitigation capabilities of the communication device for control symbols, and adapting a performing of one or more radio operation tasks based on the received information. Communication device, network node, and computer programs for the communication device and network node are also presented.

Uplink radio transmissions () from a radio device () are scheduled by allocating radio resources for the uplink radio transmissions () and controlling a transmit power of the uplink radio transmissions (). Depending on a bandwidth of radio resources to be allocated for an uplink radio transmission () and a current value of the transmit power, an estimate of the signal-to-noise ratio of the uplink radio transmission () is determined. The estimate of the signal-to-noise ratio is compared to at least one of the lower target and the upper target. Depending on a result of the comparison, the bandwidth is adapted, and radio resources for the uplink radio transmission () are allocated in accordance with the adapted bandwidth.

Uplink scheduling based on upper and lower SNR targets

A method and a network node () for enabling wireless communication with a wireless device (), wherein no more than a pre-determined maximum total transmit power is available for downlink transmission by the network node (). When detecting that the wireless device () requires an extended transmission range (B) which is larger than a nominal transmission range (A), a boosted transmit power is determined and used for transmitting a first set of channels and/or signals to be used by the wireless device () to achieve the extended transmission range (B). An attenuated transmit power is also determined and used for transmitting a second set of channels and/or signals not included in the first set of channels and/or signals, which provides a slightly reduced transmission range (C) for the second set. The boosted transmit power is thus higher than a nominal transmit power, and the attenuated transmit power is lower than the nominal transmit power, so that the total transmit power used for transmitting said first and second sets does not exceed the pre-determined maximum total transmit power.

Method and network node for enabling wireless communication with a wireless device

Adopting a frequency multiplication scheme allows a network node to expand the number of transmit beams transmitted by it within a defined time interval, and allows the network node to transmit a greater number of synchronization signals on a per beam basis within the defined time interval. By way of example, the network node may operate in compliance with standardized restrictions regarding the timeframe during which it must transmit some base number of beam-based synchronization signals, while using a frequency multiplexing scheme to transmit additional beams within the same timeframe. Among the various advantages flowing from these operations, the ability to transmit more beams within the same timeframe allows the network node to tailor the beam shape and directions for broader coverage or enhanced range.

Method and apparatus for synchronization signal transmission

A method and network node for enabling mobility measurements performed by wireless devices. A set of resource blocks are distributed across an available frequency bandwidth, and a pre-defined maximum average transmit power per resource block is available for transmission by the network node. The network node transmits (A) a subset of resource blocks using a first transmit power per resource block which is higher than the pre-defined maximum average transmit power per resource block. The network node also transmits (B) other resource blocks in the set not included in the subset using a second transmit power per resource block which is lower than the pre-defined maximum average transmit power per resource block so that the total transmit power used for transmitting the set of resource blocks does not exceed a total available maximum transmit power.

Method and network node for enabling measurements on reference signals

A network sync signal with unknown frequency location is detected by sampling the received signal over a band of interest in frequency, and over the repetition period of the sync signal in time. The signal is converted to the frequency domain. Sub-bands of the frequency-domain signal, corresponding to different possible sync locations and frequency offsets, are extracted and converted to the time domain, where the sync signal is searched over the reception window length using time-domain matched filtering.

Radio (NR) wideband sync detection

A communication device is arranged to operate in a cellular communication system and report Channel State Information, CSI, including a channel quality by a Channel Quality Indicator, CQI, which reports a CQI set. The communication device comprises a receiver arranged to receive antenna-specific reference signals, a channel estimator arranged to evaluate channel conditions from the reference signals to determine values of a CQI set, a reporting processor arranged to determine whether a bounded differential reporting format prevents values of the CQI set to be accurately reported, and to determine a CQI set such that the bounded differential reporting format allows the values of the CQI set to be reported to reduce under-reporting or over-reporting errors that arise from the use of the bounded differential reporting format, and to form a CSI report including the values of the CQI set using the bounded differential reporting format, and a transmitter arranged to send the CSI report. A method and computer program for implementing the method are also disclosed.

Method of reporting channel state information, communication device and computer program

A wireless device and a method therein for performing one or more operations based on available energy. The wireless device is configured to operate in a wireless communications network. Based on an amount of energy available for operation and based on control information, the wireless device determines an allocation of the amount of available energy between at least a first energy part and a second energy part. The first energy part is to be used in a sensing operation using a sensing operation configuration and the second energy part is to be used in a communicating operation using a communicating operation configuration. The wireless device performs based on the determined allocation, one or more operations out of: the sensing operation using the first energy part and the sensing operation configuration, and the communicating operation using the second energy part and the communicating operation configuration.

Wireless device and a method therein for performing one or more operations based on available energy

A method performed in a server node associated with a cellular communication system is disclosed. The method is for validation of a first position indication of a wireless communication device, wherein the wireless communication device is adapted to operate in connection with the cellular communication system. The first position indication is obtained via the wireless communication device by a first positioning system. The method comprises obtaining a serving cell identification of the wireless communication device, obtaining a second position indication of the wireless communication device based on the serving cell identification, and determining whether the first position indication is valid based on whether a metric based on the first and second position indications meets a validation criterion. In some embodiments, obtaining the serving cell identification of the wireless communication device may comprises receiving a first message, which comprises the serving cell identification, signed by a first signature associated with the serving cell, and verifying the serving cell identification based on the first signature. Corresponding computer program product, arrangement and server node are also disclosed.

Validation of position indication

The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for Channel State Information, (CSI) prediction. More particularly the disclosure pertains to predicting CSI for a dynamic channel that is varying over time, e.g. because the receiver is moving. This object is obtained by a method performed in a first wireless node of predicting CSI of a dynamic wireless channel H between the first wireless node and a second wireless node. The method comprises deriving channel covariance estimates C(n), . . . , C(n&#x2212;M) of the dynamic wireless channel H, estimating one or more channel properties of the dynamic wireless channel H, wherein one of the estimated channel properties defines a spectrum spread of the dynamic wireless channel H, and determining a covariance prediction filter, based on the estimated one or more channel properties. The method further comprises predicting one or more channel covariance estimates &#x108;(n+N|n) by applying the determined covariance prediction filter to the derived channel covariance estimates C(n), . . . , C(n&#x2212;M) and calculating a predicted CSI using the predicted covariance estimates &#x108;(n+N|n). Hence, this disclosure proposes predicting CSI by predicting channel covariance using a methodology which implies deriving optimal covariance prediction filters.

Methods and arrangements for CSI prediction

In MIMO wireless communication networks, receiver MIMO antenna parameters are not static over time. For example, the MIMO channel correlation is higher for high frequency bands than for low frequency bands. This variability of the receiver antenna parameters introduces uncertainty based the reported CSI (e.g., CQI, PMI, RI) if the network uses only static assumptions for such antenna parameter values. In embodiments, the UE determines the current status of its receive antenna parameters&#x2014;such as number, configuration, correlation, and power imbalance&#x2014;and transmits this information to the network (e.g., serving BS). The network node then based on the received information performs one or more radio operational tasks leading to more efficient use of radio resources and enhanced system performance.

Methods to signal current MIMO RX antenna configuration status

A method of a communication device arranged to operate in a cellular communication system is presented. The method comprises receiving a control symbol from a network node operating a cell of the cellular communication system and serving the communication device, determining interference situation for the control symbol, selecting an interference mitigation algorithm based on the determined interference, and performing the selected interference mitigation algorithm for the received control symbol. A communication device arranged to perform interference mitigation for received control symbols by the method, and a computer program for the communication device are also presented.

A technique for locating a radio device within a region covered by a radio access network, RAN is described. The RAN includes a plurality of transmission and reception points, TRPs. As to a method aspect of the technique, reports indicative of measurements performed by the radio device based on radio beams transmitted from different TRPs of the RAN are received. Each of the radio beams correspond to a radio propagation direction from the respective TRP. The radio device is located based on a combination of the radio propagation directions corresponding to radio beams transmitted from at least two of the TRPs of the RAN.

Radio location technique

A method of an electronic communication device is disclosed. The electronic communication device is arranged to operate in a radio communication system, wherein the radio communication system has capability of performing link adaptation by adapting one or more parameters of communication in view of a quality of a radio link between a network node of the radio communication system and the electronic communication device.
