The invention relates to a device for continuously sorting a particulate stream, comprising: a) a conveyor () for conveying the particulate stream to a separation device, b) a sieve () for separating the particulate stream according to size, characterized in that it further comprises c) a per-sieve () comprising elongated sieve openings located between the convey or outlet and the sieve d) and a mechanical impact device for providing mechanical impacts to the pre-sieve (). The pre-sieve allows to separate elongated objects like threads or wires form the particulate stream which would otherwise clog or block subsequent separation devices including the sieve.

Device and method for sorting a particulate stream

The invention relates to a method for starting up a fluidized bed boiler, such as a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) or a bubbling fluidized bed (BFB) boiler, for operation with a predetermined concentration of ilmenite particles in the bed material. The invention also relates to a method for pre-oxidizing ilmenite, to pre-oxidized ilmenite and to the use of pre-oxidized ilmenite in a fluidized bed boiler.

The invention is in the field of boiler control and relates to a control method for the operation of a combustion boiler, comprising providing a predetermined upper limit (VF,max) for the flue gas velocity in at least one location of the boiler; monitoring the flue gas velocity (VF) during the combustion of fuel in said at least one location of the boiler; comparing the flue gas velocity (VF) with the predetermined upper limit (VF,max); decreasing the thermal load of the boiler if the flue gas velocity exceeds the predetermined upper limit (VF,max). The invention also relates to a control system configured to execute the control method.
