The invention relates to a method () of controlling a vehicle electrical energy storage system having a plurality of battery units connectable to form a battery unit assembly for providing traction power to a vehicle electric propulsion system. The method comprises the steps of selecting () a plurality of sub-sets of battery units from the plurality of battery units, determining () an alternative operational power (AOPn) of the electrical energy storage system for each sub-set of the plurality of selected sub-sets of battery units, and for the plurality of selected sub-sets of battery units, identify () the sub-set having the highest alternative operational power for providing power to the electric propulsion system among the plurality of sub-sets of battery units.

Method of controlling a vehicle electrical system

A fluid control valve includes a cylindrical housing with at least one opening through a housing wall, a cylindrical main valve axially movably arranged inside the housing for controlling a fluid flow through the at least one opening and a main valve spring member acting on the main valve. The main valve includes a base wall defining a fluid control volume and fluid main volume in the cylindrical housing. The base wall includes an opening for fluidly connecting the fluid control volume with the fluid main volume. The fluid control valve further includes a pilot valve positioned at the base wall opening, which pilot valve is moveably arranged for controlling a fluid flow through the base wall opening, and an electro-mechanical actuator configured to act on the pilot valve for controlling the main valve via the pilot valve. A method for adjusting the axial position of a cylindrical main valve of a fluid control valve is also provided.

A device for cleaning a contaminated crankcase gas generated during operation of an internal combustion engine is provided. An internal combustion engine including such a device is also provided. The device permits for an increased flexibility as to constructing the cleaning device while maintaining or possibly improving cleaning of the contaminated crankcase gas.

A method for functional diagnosis of a separator for separating oil present in a blow-by has from a crankcase in a combustion engine is provided. The crankcase includes a crankcase pressure sensor, and is in fluid communication with the separator. The method includes the steps of detecting a first output signal of the crankcase pressure sensor at a first operational point or interval, and comparing the first output signal of the crankcase pressure sensor with at least one reference value or signal, wherein the comparison between said first output signal of the crankcase pressure sensor and the at least one reference value or signal provides the functional diagnosis of the separator. A method can perform a functional diagnosis without the use of additional sensors or complex algorithms and as a consequence manufacturing costs can be held at a minimum.
