There is provided mechanisms for random access handling of a UE. A method is performed by a network node. The method comprises receiving, from the UE during a first RAO, a first RA preamble, whilst refraining from responding to the first RA preamble. The method comprises transmitting, towards the UE and without the network node first having received any retransmitted RA preamble from the UE, one RAR for each of N possible RA preambles, where each RAR comprises a TA command corresponding to a TA value estimated for the first RA preamble. The method comprises receiving, from the UE during a further RAO, a retransmitted RA preamble. The method comprises determining whether the TA value for the retransmitted RA preamble matches the TA value for the first RA preamble or not.

Random access handling of a UE

Embodiments of methods in a base station and a UE are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method implemented in a network node includes any one or more of: selectively puncturing transmission of LTE CRS symbols that overlap NR DMRS symbols in a downlink transmission time interval; selectively puncturing transmission of NR DMRS symbols that overlap LTE CRS symbols in the downlink transmission time interval; and selectively reducing a number of NR DMRS symbols transmitted to the UE in the downlink transmission time interval. In some embodiments, a method implemented in a UE includes identifying, in a downlink channel, subchannels containing NR DMRS symbols that are corrupted due to collision with LTE CRS symbols. For each identified subchannel: a respective time averaged channel estimate is determined based on NR DMRS symbols that are not corrupted due to collision with the LTE CRS symbols; and a respective MMSE weight is determined using the time averaged channel estimate.

Collision management of LTE NR reference signals

The present disclosure relates to methods for operating a network node, as well as corresponding network nodes, computer programs, computer program products, and computer-readable media. The method comprises attempting to obtain a scheduled uplink transmission from a transmitter. In response to successful decoding at the network node of the scheduled uplink transmission, it is concluded that the uplink transmission is not skipped by the transmitter. In response to unsuccessful decoding at the network node of the scheduled uplink transmission and a signal strength measurement for the attempt to obtain the scheduled uplink transmission being below a threshold, it is concluded that the uplink transmission is skipped by the transmitter. In response to unsuccessful decoding at the network node of the scheduled uplink transmission and the signal strength measurement for the attempt to obtain the scheduled uplink transmission exceeding the threshold, rescheduling of the uplink transmission is performed.

Detection of a skipped uplink transmission

There is provided mechanisms for transmission of NR control information in an LTE downlink subframe. At least two symbols in the subframe are allocatable for LTE control information. A method is performed by a network node. The method comprises configuring resource elements for LTE transmission and resource elements for NR transmission within the subframe such that NR control information is allocated to resource elements of at least one symbol within the at least two symbols allocatable for the LTE control information in the subframe. The method comprises initiating transmission of the subframe from co-sited antennas, such that the resource elements for LTE transmission and the resource elements for NR transmission are transmitted from the co-sited antennas.

Transmission of NR control information in an LTE downlink subframe

A method and apparatus are disclosed for LTE-NR spectrum sharing. In one embodiment, a method for a wireless device (WD) includes obtaining a configuration of at least one reference signal of a first radio access technology that overlaps in time with a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service Single Frequency Network, MBSFN, subframe of a second radio access technology. In another embodiment, a method for a network node includes configuring at least one reference signal of a first radio access technology to overlap in time with a MBSFN subframe of a second radio access technology.

There is provided mechanisms for mitigating interference in a network node. A method is performed by a control device (). The method comprises receiving (S) radio signals comprising at least one desired signal and interference, estimating (S) a characteristic of the interference, wherein the estimation comprises calculating correlation statistics of power levels of frequency sub-bands comprising the interference with frequency sub-bands comprising the received radio signals. The method comprises determining (S) an interference suppression matrix to suppress the interference in the frequency sub-bands of the received radio signals based on the estimated characteristic of the interference, wherein the interference suppression matrix is further determined based on information from inter-band interference observed across distinct sub-bands of the received radio signals. The method comprises applying (S) the interference suppression matrix on the received radio signals to mitigate the interference from the received radio signals.

There is disclosed a method of operating a network node, the network node operating according to a first radio access technology, RAT. The method includes transmitting signaling having communication signaling and Demodulation Reference Signaling, DMRS, in a transmission resource pattern. The DMRS is arranged in the transmission resource pattern according to a DMRS pattern, in which the DMRS pattern is selected from a set of DMRS patterns based on a coexistence indication indicating the presence of cell-specific reference signals, CRS, associated to a second RAT.

Demodulation reference signaling in LTE/NR coexistence

A method for operating a network node in a wireless communication network. The method comprises detecting signals transmitted from wireless communication devices scheduled for uplink transmissions. The method also comprises selecting a subset of the detected signals for decoding. The method also comprises decoding the selected subset and initiating a rescheduling of the wireless communication devices that transmitted the detected signals that were not selected. Methods and devices for controlled uplink scheduling

One embodiment of the disclosure provides a method performed by a first component part of a base station. The first component part comprises one of a central unit and a radio unit. The base station further comprises a second component part, which comprises the other of the central unit and the radio unit. The method comprises: receiving a user data stream to be transmitted to the second component part, the user data stream comprising a plurality of data samples which are for transmission by the base station over an air interface, or which have been received by the base station over the air interface; applying first and second scaling factors to the data samples to generate a scaled user data stream, wherein the first scaling factor is updateable every first plurality of data samples, wherein the second scaling factor is updateable every second plurality of data samples, and wherein the second plurality of data samples is less than the first plurality of data samples; and transmitting the scaled user data stream and an indication of the first and second scaling factors to the second component part.
