A collision protection system for a vehicle, the collision protection system including a seat having a seat back and at least one lateral support coupled to the seat back, where the at least one lateral support deploys based on one or more collision policies. The collision protection system further includes a side airbag, where the side airbag deploys based on the one or more collision policies, and where the at least one lateral support deploys between the seat and the side airbag to protect a user occupying the seat during a collision.

Side impact protection assembly for a vehicle

The present disclosure relates to a dashboard protection arrangement, which is adapted to protect an accessory or a piece of equipment located at a central region of a dashboard of a vehicle from a deploying frontal protection airbag. The dashboard protection arrangement comprises a dashboard airbag adapted to deploy along a surface of the dashboard in order to at least partly cover the central region of the dashboard when deployed. The disclosure further relates to a vehicle comprising the dashboard protection arrangement and to a method of deploying a dashboard airbag of a dashboard protection arrangement.

The disclosure relates to a vehicle steering arrangement comprising a steering wheel and a torque transmitting steering column arrangement arranged to connect the steering wheel with front wheels of a vehicle. The steering arrangement comprises at least a first steering column part connected to the steering wheel and a second steering column part connected to the front wheels. The first and second steering column parts are connected to each other by a decoupling device adapted to decouple the first and second steering column parts from each other when an accident is detected so that the second steering column part can rotate in relation to the first column part. The disclosure also relates to a vehicle comprising such a steering arrangement.

A passenger airbag system includes a control unit connected to a switch for switching a passenger airbag between an active and a non-active state. The system also includes a first radio frequency unit arranged in the vehicle and may include a second radio frequency unit arranged in a vehicle remote key, so that when the radio frequency units are brought in contact with each other one of the units is arranged for sending a signal to the control unit for changing a setting of the switch.

An air bag deployment system includes a pre-impact sensor operative to detect an imminent impact and at least one post-impact sensor operative to detect an impact. An air bag has a non-deployed volume, a pre-impact deployed volume, and a post-impact deployed volume smaller than the pre-impact deployed volume. The air bag is deployed to the pre-impact volume wherein the air bag deployment system is arranged to deploy the air bag before the impact and the at least one air bag is deployed into the pre-impact deployed volume, in reaction to the imminent impact, and to the post-impact deployed volume in reaction to the impact. The system provides for enhanced occupant safety during a collision by allowing pre-impact deployment of the air bag in order to utilize the full possible length of deceleration for the occupant as the impact pulse affects the occupant.
