An apparatus for attaching a shrinkable label on a product placed on a conveyor, by irradiating light onto the shrinkable label, comprises two sets of light emitters which are arranged opposite each other on both sides of the conveyor along a defined length of the conveyor to form an irradiation volume through which the conveyor passes. The light emitters are configured to emit directed light bundles into the irradiation volume in different directions. In a plan view of the apparatus, the directions of the light bundles intersect with a longitudinal central axis of the conveyor. The intersection points of the directions of the light bundles emitted from the light emitters on a same side of the conveyor with the longitudinal central axis of the conveyor differ from each other.

The present disclosure relates to a method of attaching a shrinkable label () on a product () wherein the shrinkable label comprises a multi-layered film () comprising a heat shrinkable material and a photothermic material (), the method comprising: &#x2014;transporting the at least one product on a conveyor (); &#x2014;arranging the at least one product in an irradiation volume, the irradiation volume being defined by a plurality of LED UV light emitters () arranged to emit UV-light in the direction of at least a shrinkable label arranged around the at least one product; &#x2014;controlling the UV-light emitters to irradiate the at least one shrinkable label arranged around the one or more products in the irradiation volume in order for the photothermic material to heat up causing the heat shrinkable material to shrink around the at least one product.

Container sleeving device, system and method

An apparatus and method for orienting a tubular heat-shrinkable sleeve relative to a container. The apparatus includes a sleeve orientation unit that uses a moveable support surface to hold and rotate the sleeve relative to the container. To that end, the apparatus further includes a determining unit for determining an angular position difference between the container and the sleeve relative to an axis perpendicular to the conveyor belt on which the container is transported. The angular position difference is used to control the movement of the support surface.

Apparatus and method for orienting a tubular heat-shrinkable sleeve relative to a container

The invention relates to a system and method for forming sleeved containers. The system includes a conveyor for transporting a row of containers, a sleeving unit for arranging sleeves around containers and a heat oven for attaching the sleeve around the container by heat shrinking. The conveyed containers are provided with a sleeve and the sleeved container is transported in the oven to allow the sleeve to shrink. According to the invention, part of the sleeve is removed using a removal unit. The part is removed after heat shrinking. Removing the part allows to uncover part of the container otherwise covered by sleeve.

Method and system for forming sleeved containers

The invention relates to a sleeving device, a set of a mandrel and collector and a method for arranging a sleeve around a product, such as a container, wherein static charges on the sleeve are reduced. Foil is fed over a mandrel, is cut into sleeves, and ejected over containers. According to the invention static charge is removed from the sleeve's inner surface by collecting static charge in a collector arranged on the mandrel. The collector includes electrical filaments positioned along an inner circumference of the sleeve. The charge is discharged afterwards, e.g. using a spark gap, via a discharger mounted on the frame and connected to the earth.

The invention relates to a mandrel, a sleeving device and a method for sleeving containers. The mandrel is suspended in the sleeving device. The mandrel opens a foil to form sleeves. The foil is fed around the tubular outer surface of the mandrel. According to the invention the outer surface of the mandrel is formed by at least two separate mandrel bodies. At least one of the mandrel body is biased outwardly to increase the circumference of the outer surface. This circumference is automatically adapted to the current, instantaneous circumference of the foil fed around the mandrel.

The invention relates to a method, a sleeving device and a mandrel for arranging sleeves around products such as containers. Foil is opened on the mandrel and fed over the outer surface of the mandrel. The foil is cut at a first position to form individual sleeves of predetermined length. Sleeves are discharged in axial direction from the mandrel over the product. The sleeves are discharged by engaging the sleeves at a second position. The circumference of the outer surface of the mandrel near the second position is smaller than the circumference of the outer surface of the mandrel upstream from the first position.

An image reproduction device for document processing has a nominal processing speed at which it can process sheets continuously at a nominal document quality. However, the image reproduction device is arranged to process sheets at a continuously variable processing speed including the nominal processing speed. The actual processing speed is selected in dependence on operational conditions. In particular, the device is arranged to gradually adjust the processing speed from one processing speed to another processing speed. A control structure is given to select the variable processing speed in dependence on operational conditions, and to operate the image reproduction device at the selected processing speed. In a particular application of the variable speed, a print job may be started at an increased processing speed and then gradually fall back to the nominal speed, giving a fast start and a shorter processing time for short print jobs.

A method is provided for converting a digital colour image to a digital colour image with improved colour distinction. This method improves the colour distinction in a colour image for an observer suffering from a colour-blindness. The method includes defining a number of main colour values of a received digital colour image, converting the main colour values to converted main colour values such that the converted main colour values are perceived as distinguishable from each other by a colour-blind observer, and rendering the digital colour image with the converted main colour values.

Apparatus for separating the topmost sheet from a stack of sheets with a suction belt conveyor disposed a short distance above the stack. The suction belt conveyor includes a suction box around which an endless suction belt is trained. In one corner the suction box has a lower resistance to air flow than in the rest of the suction box in order to unroll the top-most sheet by sucking it against the suction box. The lower resistance to air flow is obtained by disposing except in the said corner a plate at a short distance above the perforated base of the suction box. Near the corner of the suction box air is forced against the side of the stack in order to assist the unrolling suction operation. The suction belt is provided with peripheral ribs which deform the applied sheet in order to assist separation.
