A meter is adapted for measuring concentrations of a chemical in a flowing solution. The meter has a barrier that shields a sensor from the high turbulence of the solution flow. One or more membranes can be employed to selectively filter out various ions or other chemicals.

Static equilibrium path for measurements of dynamic flows

An ion meter is calibrated by providing two ISFETS with different areas, where the two gate areas are used to calibrate the two ISFETS with respect to one another. The use of two ISFET gates that can be calibrated with respect to one another eliminates the need for an ion meter to be recalibrated before every use, and allows the ion meter to measure the concentration in the solution over an extended period of time.

Self-calibrating ion meter

Methods and devices are provided for controlling movement of a working end of a surgical device, and in particular for performing various surgical procedures using an instrument having an end effector that can be articulated relative to an elongate shaft of the device. A decoupling member can isolate the actuation of the end effector from the articulation of the end effector. In certain embodiments, the end effector can also optionally rotate relative to the elongate shaft of the device, and/or the shaft can rotate relative to a handle of the device.

Actuating and articulating surgical device

A surgical device comprising a clevis defining a longitudinal axis and a jaw comprising a first member and a second member. A slider is slidably engaged to the clevis, the slider comprising a pin. The pin is receiveably engaged in the first slot and the jaw is selectively moveable between a first position and a second position through longitudinal movement of the slider. In various embodiments, the first and second members are movable between an angular open position, a parallel open position, and a parallel closed position.
