A sensor system includes: a housing having an internal wall defining an opening; a transparent window mounted within the opening; a sensor device within the housing and having at least one of a sensor output or a sensor input alignable with the transparent window; a vibration device in communication with the transparent window, where the vibration device is controllable to produce a first sonic movement; where the transparent window is movably responsive to the first sonic movement with a second sonic movement; and at least one damping member located between the transparent window and the sensor device, where the damping member substantially isolates the sensor device from at least the second sonic movement of the transparent window. A method includes determining a cleaning trigger corresponding to cleaning the transparent window; and controlling, in response to the cleaning trigger, a vibration frequency, amplitude, or duration of the vibration device.

A frictionless access control system and method embodying satellite cameras for facial recognition are disclosed. The cameras capture image data of individuals at an access point such as a door. Preferably, two or more cameras are placed on opposite sides of the access point to increase the likelihood that the individuals are captured in the image data. A facial cropper module extracts facial patches from the image data, and a facial signature module computes facial signatures from the facial patches. A facial recognition module receives the computed facial signatures from the facial signature module, matches the computed facial signatures to stored facial signatures, and sends user identity information of individuals corresponding to the stored facial signatures to the facial signature module when the computed facial signatures match the stored facial signatures.

A bubble for a surveillance camera has at least one planar transparent region. The at least one planar transparent region is aligned with an optical axis of a camera head of the surveillance camera. In a preferred embodiment, the bubble can include at least one bubble section having one or more window cutouts. The at least one planar transparent region can be one or more planar window elements that are installed within the one or more window cutouts of the bubble section.

A bubble adapter for installed security cameras, such as Pan/Tilt/Zoom ('PTZ') security cameras fits over the head of the PTZ camera, and attaches to a mounting region of a base of the security camera via a field-deployable attachment mechanism. The bubble of the bubble adapter protects and conceals the head of the PTZ camera and its components. Using the bubble adapter, service personnel add bubbles to existing PTZ camera installations that are lacking bubbles in the field. This avoids the expense and downtime associated with the current method for adding bubbles to PTZ camera installations lacking bubbles. The current method requires removing the installed PTZ cameras, and replacing them with PTZ cameras having factory-installed bubbles. In addition, the bubble adapter provides an integrated airflow system that allows the security camera to maintain thermal control when the bubble adapter is attached to the security cameras.

A pan tilt zoom (PTZ) camera system implements a disc valve system to enhance the cooling of electronics. The disc valve system includes a static camera base and a rotating camera pan bearing. The static camera base has static base vent slots arranged along the perimeter of the static camera base. The rotating camera pan bearing includes at least one pan bearing vent slot that aligns with the static base vent slots. During rotation of the rotating camera pan bearing, the at least one pan bearing vent slot aligns with the static base vent slots enabling movement of air over electronics of the (PTZ) camera system.
