A windlass system and method in which an inertial force resulting from an abrupt removal of primary operating power from a primary source of power during a lifting operation being carried out by a windlass of the windlass system is attenuated to reduce load forces generated by the inertial force.

A method for changing a theme associated with a given space (e.g., restaurant). A wall system includes a wall panel having multiple themes depicted thereon or multiple wall panels each having a theme depicted thereon. Using a series of winches, chain drives, cables and pulleys or the like, the wall panels are moved to change the theme of the space. A ceiling system includes two ceiling panels movable via a series of winches, chain drives, cables and pulleys. Once separated the ceiling panels expose a theme different than that depicted while closed. Audio and/or visual cues may be provided to alert patrons to a theme change.

Method for automatically altering a theme associated with a room or similar space

A compact windlass and a method of operating the windlass are disclosed for exerting a force upon a load along a selected direction of force. A drum is extended along a longitudinal axis of rotation and a line is engaged with a surface on the drum. The line is aligned with a line spooling direction transverse to the longitudinal axis of rotation for being spooled onto the drum by a line spooling mechanism located in close proximity with the surface of the drum and engaging the line at a line engagement location juxtaposed with the drum, in response to rotation of the drum in a spooling direction of rotation, and off of the drum in response to rotation of the drum in an unspooling direction of rotation. A load is coupled with the line, and the line is directed between the line spooling direction and a selected direction of force aligned along a load path extending essentially parallel with the longitudinal axis of rotation and placed closely adjacent the drum, as the line is spooled onto and off of the drum, so as to exert a force upon the load along the selected direction of force. The windlass can be oriented in substantially any selected direction so as to orient the direction of force in a corresponding direction, for exerting a force along the corresponding direction, such as a lifting force or a pulling force, upon the load.

System and method for automatically altering a theme associated with a room or similar space

A system and method for changing a theme associated with a given space (e.g., restaurant). A wall system includes a wall panel having multiple themes depicted thereon or multiple wall panels each having a theme depicted thereon. Using a series of winches, chain drives, cables and pulleys or the like, the wall panels are moved to change the theme of the space. A ceiling system includes two ceiling panels movable via a series of winches, chain drives, cables and pulleys. Once separated the ceiling panels expose a theme different than that depicted while closed. Audio and/or visual cues may be provided to alert patrons to a theme change.

An adjustable gate bracket apparatus and system. The apparatus typically includes a front bracket portion and a rear bracket portion. The front bracket portion includes a generally first rectangular planar body pivotally connected to a second rectangular planar body integrally connected to a curved planar body. The rear bracket portion typically includes two rectangular planar bodies pivotally connected to each other at respective corners. The ends of uprights and rails are connected between the front and rear bracket portions and secured together with rivets, bolts or other suitable. An adjustable gate bracket is secured at each corner of the gate panel. The gate panel is then adjusted to a desired angular orientation on a hill or other contour. Once the desired configuration is attained, the front and rear portions are fixed so that they do not pivot and the gate retains its angular orientation.

An interactive video display system is disclosed for communicating with local viewers. The system includes a receiver for receiving a modulated signal carrying related audio and video information. A video and audio control is operatively connected to the receiver for receiving the modulated signal and separating the signal into a video signal and an audio signal. A video display monitor is connected to the control for receiving the video signal and displaying the video information carried by the video signal. A radio transmitter is connected to the control for receiving the audio signal and transmitting a radio frequency signal at a select frequency so that the audio information related to the video information can be received by viewers proximate the video display system. An interactive control is operatively associated with the video and audio control for generating instructions to be displayed, the video and audio control combining the received instructions with the received video information prior to transferring the video signal to the video display monitor.

Interactive video display system

A hitch attaches to a lawn tractor and draws two lawn mowers therebehind. The hitch includes a draw bar solidly mounted to the tractor, and a link for each towed mower, which mowers each include a bracket to the deck thereof. The links include plumbing tees perpendicularly arranged, so that universal joints are formed between the draw bar and the mowers. A third tee is provided at each bracket so that each mower may be individually tilted, as for enabling access to the underside while still ganged to the hitch. The draw bar, links, and third tee are made from readily available plumbing components. The resultant hitch is thus fabricated from readily available components, is durable, uncomplicated, and has wide flexibility in allowing for various attitudes of the mowers. This enables individual mowers to follow the contour of uneven terrain, turn in tight quarters while being towed, and to be temporarily tilted for access to the cutting blade and oil drain cock without requiring disassembly from the hitch.
