A method for active circuit antenna optimization includes recording a capacitance value at each frequency of a frequency range using one or more tuning capacitors, thereby generating a capacitor value frequency range. The method further includes creating one or more non-linear circuit designs in an RF circuit simulator. The one or more non-linear circuit designs match the capacitance value at each frequency of the frequency range recorded from the one or more tuning capacitors. The method then includes creating one or more non-linear circuits from the non-linear circuit design. Each tuning capacitor has a corresponding non-linear circuit where all the one or more non-linear circuits match the capacitor value frequency range of the one or more tuning capacitors.

Antenna Array for passively modulating radio frequency signals. Specifically, an antenna array or system comprising a plurality of retroreflective antennas configured to passively receive a radiofrequency (RF) signal from a source, and configured to reflect the RF signal; and a passive modulation circuit, electrically connected to the plurality of retroreflective antennas, configured to modulate the RF signal to represent a code, wherein the code comprises information, and further comprising: a plurality of RF switches. Additionally, a method for passively reflecting modulated signals, comprising generating a radiofrequency (RF) signal at a source; receiving the a RF signal with a plurality of retroreflective antennas; passively modulating the signal's amplitude to create a modulated RF signal, wherein the modulated RF signal comprises a code, and wherein the code further comprises a unique identifier associated with the plurality of retroreflective antennas; and passively reflecting a modulated signal back to the source.

Antenna array for passively modulating radio frequency signals

A tunable or dual-band antenna includes a ground plane, top plane, a cage structure, first and second half-loops, and a hybrid phase shifter. The cage structure is attached to the ground plane and the top plane that includes four leg structures in electrically-conductive contact with the top plane. The top plane is one of a cross-element with four equilateral elements, a cross-element with eight equilateral elements, or a disc element. The first and second half-loops are independent from each other, located diagonally to each other within the cage structure, and support transmitting and receiving an electromagnetic field orthogonal to each other. The hybrid phase shifter shifts a frequency of the first and second half-loops to 90° from each other. The ground plane has an inner ground plane with two or more capacitors embedded therein.

An antenna comprising: first and second dielectric layers; a conductive slot layer disposed between the first and second dielectric layers, wherein the slot layer has a slot therein with short and long axes of symmetry; a pair of arcs, rotated 180&#xb0; from each other, made of conductive material, and disposed on top of the first dielectric layer, wherein proximal ends of the arcs are vertically-aligned with the short axis of symmetry and equidistant from the long axis of symmetry and electrically connected to the slot layer through vias in the first dielectric layer; and a forked feed made of conductive material disposed on the bottom of the second dielectric layer, wherein the forked feed has a centerline that is vertically-aligned with the short axis of symmetry.

Slot-fed dual horse shoe circularly-polarized broadband antenna

A high power radiofrequency (RF) capacitor, integrated circuit board/capacitor and methods for manufacture therefor can include a dielectric substrate, and a first metallic layer and a second metallic layer that can be deposited on opposite sides of the dielectric substrate, and a ground plane that can be co-planar with one of the metallic layers. This can establish a broadside coupling capacitance effect between the first metallic layer and the second metallic layer. The first metallic layer and the second metallic layer can have a circular profile when viewed in plan view; alternatively, the first metallic layer and second metallic layer can have a T-shaped profile when viewed in plan view. The desired profile and the desired profile geometry can depend on the design power and operating frequency for the capacitor can depend on whether the capacitor must operate as a series capacitor or a shunt capacitor.

High power RF capacitor

A method for reducing a quantity of cable runs to antennas can include the step of providing a circuit of reactive elements coupled between an input terminal and at least two output terminals. The circuit can be used to separate a broadband signal into two or more disjoint expected frequency ranges. The circuit can match the impedance at the at least two output terminals to the impedance expected by the antennas. The elements of the circuit can have reactances and arrangement so that when a broadband RF signal is applied at the input terminal, two or more disjoint expected frequencies can be applied to the respective output terminals. The power at each output terminal can sufficiently match the antennas' expected power, and insertion losses can be minimized.

N-channel high-power RF multiplexer

An antenna comprising: a solar collector; two conductive, orthogonal half-loops mounted to the solar collector such that the solar collector functions as a ground; an RF power source configured to feed RF power to each of the two half-loops having a 90-degree phase difference relative to each other; and a conductive cage structure surrounding the two half-loops, wherein the cage structure includes a conductive ring disposed above the center section, the conductive ring having an equilateral cross of conductive material disposed within the ring and supported by leg structures which are in electrically-conductive contact with the solar collector, and wherein each leg structure has attached thereto a non-Foster circuit having a negative impedance, wherein the non-Foster circuits are configured to actively load the cage structure such that the cage structure functions as an active, internal matching network for the antenna.

A compact and flat antenna that provides both Direct Broadcast Satellite and local off-air reception. The flat reflector is made of a composite material with multiple reflective radiating surfaces. The multi-stepped reflector combines both diffraction and refractive principals to collimate Radio Frequency signal waves to a short focal point. At the focal point a phase correcting splash plate and lens direct the RF signal through a low loss axis-fed circular waveguide and then to a low noise amplifier. This compact design reduces space, cost and over-all structure, which presents an aesthetically pleasing satellite communication antenna. The antenna aperture includes a VHF/UHF antenna element for reception of local and/or off-air broadcast TV signals eliminating the need and cost to install a separate antenna.
