method and system for decomposing organic compounds in wastewater that uses an interaction between an acid, a permeable structure and ultra violet light to accelerate the decomposition of organic compounds in wastewater. This invention can be used to decomposing organic compounds in industrial process and wastewater discharges, municipal drinking water supplies, food processing rinse water and commercial and residential water purification systems.

Method and system for removing organic compouds in a closed loop system

The present invention is drawn to a method for removing colloidal titanium dioxide and titanium oxychloride from by-product hydrochloric acid. The method includes adding phosphate ion source and quaternary amine to the by-product acid to cause the titanium dioxide and the titanium oxychloride to form a precipitate. The precipitate can then be separated from the acid, thus producing a decontaminated hydrochloric acid product with reduced levels of titanium.

Removal of contaminants from by-product acids

A method of reclaiming used motor oil for further use is disclosed comprising (a) admixing used impurity laden motor oil with an effective amount of acetone as a flocculating agent and an effective amount of a second ketone as a wetting agent thereby forming an oil impurity flocculent mixture; (b) subjecting said mixture to a force such that a heavy phase and a light phase are formed, wherein said light phase is comprised of lean motor oil, acetone, and a second ketone, and wherein said heavy phase is comprised of flocculated impurities, any remaining acetone, and any remaining second ketone; and (c) separating said light phase containing said lean motor oil from said heavy phase containing said flocculated impurities. Preferably the second ketone is diisopropyl ketone, though other second ketones are also functional.

Method of reclaiming used motor oil for further use

A fluid valve that comprises a body forming a cavity and a cap on the body extending over the cavity, the cap and body carrying interengaging threads allowing rotary make-up of the cap on the body; a diaphragm in the cavity and seated on a ledge formed in the body, thereby to form a seal; a pressure-transmitting element in the cavity to transmit cap thrust to effectuate the seal; and blocking structure to block relative rotary movement between the pressure-transmitting element and the body.
