A radio frequency filter () comprises an input impedance adaption section () and a tank capacitor section (). Thereby, the capacity of the input impedance adaption section () does not comprise a fixed capacitor, it only comprises switchable capacitors. Further, the tank capacitor section () does not comprise a fixed capacitor as well it only comprises switchable capacitors. The capacity of the input impedance adaption section () can be tuned independent of the tank capacity, section capacity by means of switchable capacitors. Hence, bandwidth and frequency of the radio frequency filter can be modified independent of each other. The imput impendance adaption section () is connected in series between the input and output of the filter (). The tank capacitor section () is shunt connected between the input-output series path of the filter () and ground. Optionally a gain/attenuation adaption section () is in series connected with the imput impedance adaption section () in the input-output path of the filter ().

Radio frequency filter

The present invention relates to a tilt correction method and a corresponding apparatus for correcting tilt of RF signals in a wanted channel having a predetermined frequency range, in a signal path of a communication equipment, wherein the RF signals are down-converted to an intermediate frequency of an IF domain. The method comprises the steps of: providing a predetermined RF signal having a particular frequency to the signal path, detecting an output signal in the intermediate frequency (IF) domain and outputting a detection result, repeating the providing step and the detecting step for plural RF signals of different frequencies within the channel frequency range, determining the tilt of the RF signals in the frequency range by comparing the detection results, and correcting the tilt to obtain a minimized tilt of the wanted channel depending upon the determined tilt. The present invention further refers to a computer program including program code means to carry out the method, and to an integrated circuit wherein the apparatus is implemented.

Reduction method and apparatus

A method of controller an AC/DC to converter is disclosed, the converter having a power factor correction stage and a signal indicative of a required power and operating with a switching cycle having a switching frequency being the inverse of a switching period. The method comprises switching on the PFC stage, in response to a signal indicative of an average switching frequency rising above a first threshold. The method further comprises switching off the PFC stage, in response to the signal indicative of an average switching frequency falling below a second threshold. The method may further comprise switching on the PFC stage, in response to a positive step change in the signal indicative of a required power, and switching off the PFC stage, in response to indicative step change in the signal indicative of a required power. A controller and an AC/DC converter operable according to such a method are also disclosed as is an LED lighting system comprising such a controller.

A bleeder arrangement for a phase-cut circuit for a high-impedance load and having a leading-edge phase-cut device is disclosed, the bleeder arrangement comprising: a controllable current sink adapted to sink a latching current through the leading-edge phase-cut device, and a controller for controlling the controllable current sink, wherein the controller is configured to disable the current sink after the leading-edge phase phase-cut device has latched in at least two stages. A controller for use in such an arrangement is also disclosed, as is a method of controller such a bleeder arrangement.

Leading-edge phase-cut bleeder control

A method of controlling a ballast in a circuit for a lighting application and connected to a mains power supply is disclosed. The method comprises determining whether a dimmer is present in the circuit; in response to detecting that a dimmer is present, determining a zero-crossing of the power supply and setting a bleeder current through the ballast in dependence on the phase of the power supply within a mains half-cycle; and in response to determining that a dimmer is not present, disabling the bleeder current. A ballast which is controlled by such a method is also disclosed. Additionally, a controller, which may include a digital signal processor, for a ballast and operable according to the above method is disclosed.
