The invention relates to a technique of pairing a device (-) with a co-ordinating entity () of a private wireless network (). The co-ordinating entity obtains an identifier of the device to be paired and a temporary network identifier specific to the device. The co-ordinating entity then configures itself on standby awaiting the device identified on the temporary network. The device to be paired transmits a request for association with the temporary network to the co-ordinating entity on the temporary network. The co-ordinating entity verifies that the device that transmitted the request for association corresponds to the device identified and then transmits to it on the temporary network an encryption key associated with the private wireless network and an identifier of the private network, then instructs a toggling of the device from the temporary network to the private wireless network. The device to be paired then restarts on the private network and transmits a request for association to the private network on the private network. The co-ordinating entity and the device identified are then associated.

Technique of pairing in a wireless network

One inventive aspect relates to a method of constructing a graph representing a building (BAT) in which a person (U) moves. In one inventive aspect, the method is adapted to receiving information about the movement of the person in the building over a period of time, the information being collected and transmitted by a portable device (D) associated with the person (U), and in constructing at least one branch of the graph from received movement information. One inventive aspect also provides a method of remotely tracking the activity of a person in a building as a function of the constructed graph. One inventive aspect also provides a server (S) implementing the method of constructing a graph.

Method and system for constructing a graph representing a building

A method and apparatus are provided for locating the positions of sensors of a network of sensors suitable for communicating with one another by radio connection. The method is suitable for receiving, from sensors of the network of sensors, measurements of relative distances between sensors of the network; for calculating a topology for the network of sensors from the received distance measurements, the topology comprising nodes representative of sensors of the network of sensors; and for determining absolute positions for the sensors by anchoring the calculated topology in an absolute frame of reference on the basis of constraints associated with an environment plan of the network of sensors. The invention also provides a locating device implementing the management method.

Locating sensors of a network of wireless sensors

The invention relates to a method of measuring a distance between two radio-communication devices (), consisting in measuring a radio signal exchange delay. According to the invention, the time-of-flight of the signals is calculated from the exchange delay and subsequently corrected using an analysis of a single channel measuring frame that is transmitted between the two devices. The corrected time-of-flight corresponds to the shortest propagation path followed by the radio signals. In the majority of radio transmission medium configurations, the corrected time-of-flight is a straight line measurement of the distance separating the two devices ().
